Ideas for "Creature A must block Creature B if able"?
by thefiremind » 08 Jul 2012, 19:23
I tried to gather ideas about this with DotP2012, but nothing useful got out. Now, with DotP2013, we have new functions which could open other roads, so I'll ask again: does anyone have a brilliant idea about how to code effects like Turntimber Basilisk? The biggest problem, in my opinion, is that nothing should happen if I force a creature to block something it can't, and in that case, the creature should be free to block something else. But, as far as I know, there's no function to check if a creature can block something: we have CanBlock_Set, but nothing like CanBlock_Test.

I think it can't be coded.
But there is a trigger CANT_BLOCK_TEST, but i think is for creatures that can't block and for ai evaluation...

I also couldn't find a way to implement it while I was trying to code Hunter Sliver. There just isn't a way to manually check if a creature can block another creature.
