No, even as an artifact it would still be tapped automatically as all mana sources are (and if you compensated for the skew it would create in itself then a crash would still occur). It is possible, though only using mana tokens it would not be possible to use any other method. Essentially when the ability is activated you first ask the player how many counters they want to use for white mana (max equaling total number of counters), then ask how many they want to use for blue mana (max equaling total counters minus how many were chosen for white mana), finally remove counters and create mana tokens. Or you ask first how many total counters to use, then ask how many of those should be white, then create the tokens with the remainder of those not used for white being blue. Is the requirement for mana tokens with Calciform Pools due to the variable mana color? If so would something like Icatian Store or Fountain of Cho (Or even White Mana Battery) be easier?
Hmm... For that matter I guess you could avoid the Serra's Sanctum/Tolarian Academy issues by using 4 Cloud Posts in combination with a card like Gemstone Array if that one's possible to make. Not the same effect, but it could bring you up to 8 extra mana in the color of your choice at least.

The only way to make Icatian Store, Fountain of Cho, and White Mana Battery is with mana tokens. The reason mana tokens are required for those cards and Calciform Pools is not due to color, but instead due to the variable nature of the mana that can be obtained (and the fact that you have to tap to remove the counters). Because the player must be asked how many counters to remove (how much mana to generate) and the activated ability requires tapping as part of the cost then mana tokens must be used.GammaPaladin wrote:Is the requirement for mana tokens with Calciform Pools due to the variable mana color? Icatian Store has an additional complication in that the player may choose not to untap it. This can sort of be done by giving it CHARACTERISTIC_DOESNT_UNTAP at end of turn and removing it at the beginning of upkeep, then asking the player if they want to untap it or leave it tapped (if it is their turn), but this can cause problems with other card effects that depend on tapped cards (for example taking damage based on what cards are tapped at start of upkeep) or limit how many cards can be untapped (like Winter Orb) so it is not a good solution.
Gemstone Array can be created if (and only if) you use mana tokens. The reason Gemstone Array requires mana tokens is because the ability can be used multiple times and produce multiple colors during a turn (either one would require the use of mana tokens).GammaPaladin wrote:Hmm... This should do it (it's a pretty easy card). The filename should be "INHERITANCE_184635.XML" and you will need to change the ARTID to match whatever you name the image.Whizard wrote:Can anyone make Inheritance? I'm trying right now.

How about Stifle guys?
there is a nasty combo with it and Phyrexian Dreadnought(can he be made in DOTP?)
and Mosswort Bridge. it's not the key card, but I am tinkering about some deck with Emrakul and some ways to put it into play on turn 2:)

Stifle is impossible, there's no way to counter abilities (how would you select the target, for example?).

Yes, that can be done (with the usual colorless frame, but that's just cosmetic). You don't exile cards face down, but as long as you don't attach the exiled card to Mosswort Bridge as other cards do, nobody can see it, so in practice it's face down.loookaz wrote:what about Mosswort Bridge?

i would like also to ask about Dryad Arbor - it's quite popular card and i haven't seen it in any of the available mods.
can someone try to do it? or being a land and a creature makes it impossible to code?

It was a bit more complicated than I thought, but Mosswort Bridge is ready. Tell me if you find something wrong. Note that even if the real rules would allow you to activate its ability when the power requirement isn't met (it would just do nothing when resolving), I didn't allow that, because it's easier for the player if the ability is available only when you can get something from it.
EDIT: Fixed a problem that I actually can't understand... why does the CanBePlayed function return false for an exiled creature or land? I thought it was less restrictive.

are the following cards possible to make?:
(I know it's a bunch, and it is a lot to ask for, but i am trying also to contribute as much as I can and add new decks the forum)
Big Game Hunter
Bone Shredder
Harmonic Sliver
Loyal Retainers(most important)
Magus of the Moon
Mesmeric Fiend
Squee, Goblin Nabob(most important)
Survival of the Fittest(most important)
Wipe Away
please forgive me for such a big list
but i am fascinated by the mechanic of this combo, i Know that there are faster combos, but this is so sweet:)
here it is:
Turn 1: Land, Vial
Turn 2: Land, Survival
Turn 3: Land (need a Taiga at some point), Get Squee, Pitch Squee to get Mesmeric Fiend, Use Vial to Fiend them during their draw step, Endstep get Loyal Retainers
Turn 4: Return Squee, Pitch Squee to get Emrakul, Vial down Loyal Retainers, Pitch Emrakul, respond to reshuffle trigger by using Loyal Retainers, Call a judge to prove to opponent that this works since they won't believe that Loyal Retainers works this way even if your card is in English. After reshuffling your library (including Loyal Retainers), get Anger from resolved Survival trigger, Discard Anger to Survival, attack with Emrakul.
