You made Chorus of the Conclave exactly as I was thinking while reading the request. But I guess it can't work correctly if used with creatures that have Multikicker by themselves... well there aren't that many.

As I always say, DotP allows players to cast cards outside hands only for free, so Nivix can't work (excluding very heavy approximations like Snapcaster Mage).

You can't add new frames on DotP2013, the most you can do is to override the existing ones, but I'm not sure if the game can guess by itself when a full art is needed. And this would screw up the basic lands in the other decks, unless you override the official basic lands with yours.

Thanks a MILION man. Could you just help me with one thing, I know Arrest is part of the challenge 5 but I can't seem to find it's wad. Can you tell me which one is it so I don't have to unpack every CH.wad?

Collect all the official cards in a folder, when you need a effect, search for its rule text, you will be able to find all similar cards.

Well, I was planing on overriding the official lands with mine. I already went down the road of making additional land sets from Rise of Eldrazi in my Eldrazi decks. The game seems to share the lands between the AI and the player so you would see a mix of both lands on either side of the field. However, the main issue is that the AI would refuse to play 1 land from its hand often times choosing to discard another card until it would draw another land (played multiple 2HG games to confirm it). So in other words I would most likely need to replace all the basic lands with mine and if I am to do this I at least wanted the Zendikar lands. My biggest concern is, if I override the basic lands, will this also mess up the frames for the dual lands?

Dual lands use the colorless frame, so unless you change that as well, there should be no problem.

Ok, any idea how I can go about making my own frames? I noticed that Sumomole tried to do something similar for his Dragon's Maze cards.

Finding the right name for the files is the easiest part: just look inside the official core WAD and you'll find the original frames in DATA_CORE\DATA_ALL_PLATFORMS\ART_ASSETS\TEXTURES\CARD_FRAMES. The hardest part would be to find good templates to start with (which is something I haven't thought about during my last answer). I would try to download the resources of the HQ Card Generator here:

and see if the frames you need are included. They are probably generated from a scan but they should be HQ enough to compete with the original frames when shrinked to the default size.

I always override cards with my core-fixing WAD without ever touching a single official WAD... just make a WAD that contains cards with the same name and ID, and be sure that it's further than the original WADs when compared in alphabetical order.

From my experience, this happens if you make just 1 custom land instead of 4 for each basic land type, and the reason is that the AI goes crazy if there are more than 15 cards with the same ID in a deck: this is likely to happen in a mono-colored deck with just 1 custom land that is probably repeated more than 20 times. Even if you make just 1 custom Forest (or any other type) because maybe you like its illustration so much, make at least 2 copies of it (if you make 3 or 4 even better), give different IDs to the copies, and use all of those copies in the LAND_POOL XML.

EDIT 2: You know what? I'm really dumb sometimes. Now that I looked into the core directory I mentioned before, I saw that the full land frames are already there! You just have to copy them into your new custom WAD and rename them so that they are named like the non-full ones, i.e. G_BASIC_LAND_FULL -> G_BASIC_LAND.

I wanted to recreate a very old legacy deck I had back in the day but I am missing two cards that are really the centerpiece of the deck:
Darien, King of Kjeldor and Lich

Maybe it's my long long time away from coding much of anything, but I really can't seem to wrap my head around coding everything that Lich does: Life goes to 0 (should be easy), Don't die from having 0 or less life (again, easy, I was checking it out on the Phyrexian Unlife one of you guys coded), Draw cards instead of gaining life (?), destroy permanents instead of losing life when dealt damage (? again), Lose the game if Lich leaves play (easy).

The mouse-over is wrong unless they errata-ed that. Should say "destroy one of your cards in play for each point of damage suffered. Cards destroyed this way can't be regenerated."

Also, if it was errata-ed to sacrificing permanents: noting that if you say when it leaves play you lose, saying "if you can't sacrifice enough permanents, you lose the game" is redundant, since you would at some point be forced to sac lich, thus losing you the game regardless.

The important thing to note is that I mostly used Darien's ability to put out tokens I could, in turn, destroy to satisfy lich without losing other permanents.

Then it wouldn't work, because it seems that the latest Oracle text for Lich says "sacrifice that many nontoken permanents".

Oh well, that's sad, but there are plenty of other combo work-arounds for the drawback. Oh gee, I'll have to craft a new deck, lol. Assuming it can be coded.

I really hope D14 is more mod-friendly, especially with the new sealed campaign feature. And hopefully someone will code a sealed draft feature, that would be epic.

There are only 2 frames, for Plains and Forest which I assume are the left overs from DotP 2009 Heart of Worlds deck.

I had a full 20 unique lands with art set all made (4 for each basic land), they had their own unique ID and even the land pool had its unique ID.

Don't beat your self over that, you know more then I do on this one. With that said I tested the lands and they appear. Now all I have to do is compile the land art (I have most of them but a few are missing the full art). With that said I would be eternally grateful to anyone that can make me the frames for the Island, Swamp and Mountain as they are not in the WAD.


EDIT: If anyone still has DotP 2010 I would appreciate it if you can give me the TDX images for the Heart of Worlds deck. I am having a hard time finding all the correct large images but mostly this card:



The art is by Jung Park and I cannot find it anywhere.

You'll have to plop the art in the correct folder, but it works great for me.
