LOL I totally forgot about Psychatog. Funny to see him go on the last round.

Anyway, my picks are:
Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker (BOLAS!!!!!!!!!)
Crumbling Necropolis
Sulfur Vent

I was just going to take the three silliest picks I could think of, like Goblin Rock Sled, but I decided that since I already have a few 5-colour lands and Savage Lands for red, that I could actually have a shot at getting Bolas out if I took him. So here goes nothing...

I vote for this, but drop the 2 lowest-scoring decks after round 1.
Also, instead of normal scoring for round 1, I propose something simpler. +2 point for every matchup you win, +1 for a tie (you "win" by playing deck A vs deck B both ways, and the better result wins).

We don't have Polymorph, do we? Well, I already have too many interesting cards to be able to play them all. I'll still pick...

Morphling
Eldrazi Conscription

...and Academy Rector

I can't really believe the Rector was last. Is it considered cheating if he's used to cheat Jace into play? ;)

I would say yes, just as I can't use Enlightened Tutor to find Elspeth, and it wouldn't be fair to use Disenchant to kill them. HOWEVER, I think if the AI does these things, that's fine. I'm strongly against the use of debug mode to correct the game state.

I was thinking about taking Academy Rector since the start, but I just didn't have that many good enchantments to fetch with it. I'm more shocked that Jatill picked up Vindicate and Mortify on the last round, I considered splashing black but I would've basically been copying one of the decks from the article.

This sounds good, but what about scoring for the AI? 2 for a tie, 4 for a win?

Nicdanger, I think we're not on the same page for scoring. I'm saying you play A vs B and then B vs A. Whichever performs better earns the 2 points. If they do the same, then 1 point each.

Rector still automatically crashes the game if it dies by combat damage so i didn't take it.

Block with it in manalink and you will see what I'm talking about! :D

So are we not going to weight the AI wins higher than regular? Or are we? This is definitely going to affect the design of my deck as I drafted ~10 cards that the AI doesnt use correctly but can tie up a game for a human.

I think I get it now. You want to count matches as a whole instead of individual games.

So if I play A vs B and win 2-0, then play B vs A and lose 0-2, deck A gets 2 points?

What about playing A vs B and winning 2-1, then B vs A and winning 2-0. Is that considered a tie?

There is an Inferno Titan bug, it enters play and assigns 3 damage to Yotian Soldier but the damage just stays on the creature with no effect.

That would be a win for B.

Apparently with Phylactery Lich you dont actually need to select an artifact. The 'Lich Effect' card just sits there when I hit 'cancel' when it asks me to.

With drafting done I'd like to use this thread for any discussion related to the tournament and keep all game commentary here. Due to the number of games and complicated scoring I'm going to make a second thread to track wins/loses and points for each deck.
