Is tonight to late for me to turn in results? I have a motherboard going out, so play time has been hit or miss.

I have come to the conclusion that strip mine and hymn to tourach are not friendly against three card hands :p I shouldn't have made that last bid on beta...

I got all of Group A and most of Group B done, but I have class in a few hours and need sleep. I will get them in late tomorrow morning or early afternoon (I have class until 10 am CST.) Sorry for the delay.

Everyone submitted the reports for Group A.Here is the result:
Final Score Overview Group A
Shantak 43 points (Sal 6 / Jat 5 / Sha 8 / Aww 6 / Cog 3 / AJ 6 / Mon 5 / 240 4) @ 48,6% win rate (52/107)
Aww 33 points (Sal 4 / Jat 6 / Sha 3 / Aww 5 / Cog 4 / AJ 3 / Mon 5 / 240 3) @ 34,91% win rate (37/106)
Jatill 49 points (Sal 5 / Jat 6 /Sha 6 / Aww 6 / Cog 6 / AJ 9 / Mon 6 /240 5) @ 56,48% win rate (61/108)
240sxForever 59 points (Sal 6 / Jat 6 / Sha 9 / Aww 6 / Cog 9 / AJ 6 / Mon 6 / 240 11) @ 56,44% win rate (57/101)
240sxForever advances as #1 with the least games played, 2nd place in terms of win rate (only 0,04% difference).
He has won 57 games.
Jatill advances as #2 with the most games played,1st place in terms of win rate with 56,48% games won.
He has won 61 games.
Shantak doesn´t advance as #3 6 points behind Jatill with a solid 48,6% win rate.
He has won 52 games.
Aww doesn´t advance as #4 10 points behind Shantak with the lowest win rate of 34,91%.
He has won 37 games.
After roughly over 100 games each the win rate % is pretty accurate.
I used the Player and AI games to calculate it in case you wonder.
I´m going to provide the .ods file i´ve used to track the games when i summarize Group B.
Please let me know when you find any errors.
I´m going to wait till tomorrow with the Group B summary since there are still many reports missing. Most are only a few games short.
Round2:
Group C
240sxForever vs Juzamjedi // *might change*
Group D
Jatill vs Salbei
Personally i was hoping for Jatill to win Group A so i don´t have to face him in round 2 since his deck is a lot more dangerous against me than the others.Everyone has reported for Group A and i´m way too far ahead in Group B so i guess it is inevitable.

I am on campus and have been trying for over an hour to download the patch with handicap cards. They will have to wait until I get home this afternoon.

It started out great but then began bumbling. I guess my early game was too slow with only 15 life to spare.Salbei wrote:Shantak doesn´t advance as #3 6 points behind Jatill with a solid 48,6% win rate.

Also, the other decks were really well made. I don't believe anyone could do a better Antiquities or Fallen Empires deck with these rules. Beta as well, but it was punished too much by three card hand.
It is indeed possible that Jatill's deck will devastate Salbei's M11 if enough Hymns and Mindstab Thrulls go through early. It would be very amusing if Fallen Empires then won the whole tournament

It still comes down to a race against the time.
Either Jatill beats me clear and early or he is going to die due to lack of Removal and my insane Critters.I don´t fear the discard that much to be honest, but his Order could be potentially very dangerous in the hand of a human player.
Gonna be hard to predict the outcome, but i´m pretty sure the AI plays my deck better than his so i´m hoping for a few AI wins to come out ahead.
The "Player matches" should be in Jatills favor, although anything can happen.Hopefully Serra Ascendant can steal a game or two
The lategame is going to be quite interesting since the AI doesn´t hold creatures back that wont get blocked - and since most of my creatures got flying the AI might kill itself. In a "real" game (human vs human) it shouldn´t even be close - but since the AI is involved it is going to get interesting.
I would suggest to mulligan to an aggressive hand as Jatill.A slow hand is likly to backfire in this fight against time.

Weird. I was sure I finished all the results. I wonder if there was a server error, or an error in my brain
In any case, we'll move on with the standings as posted. Thanks for helping, Salbei. Now lose!

Well your spoiler tags for group b are empty beside the first game.I can still adjust the summary - just need your individual games.
#2 and #3 are very close together (just 2 points apart) so your report might change the outcome.
May i transfer like 20 points from round1 ?
I´m also very surprised Beta and Zendikar didn´t make it, prolly mainly the auctions "fault" there i guess.

Kinda funny how you managed to get into round2 with this ... along with Jatill piloting Fallen Empires.juzamjedi wrote:Oh how the might have fallen. I went down to 4 cards Beta, but ended at Legends. Oof. My fault for not being able to get online in the last few days I suppose.
I will do my best to avoid dead last. Wish me luck!

I thought I would lose the matchup to Salbei since the AI is pretty bad with a lot of the cards in there. Instead I will lose the matchup because my deck sucks compared to his

Well its not over yet.But in terms of powerlevel it wasn´t really a secret that FE blows. It would still be an interesting matchup when 2 humans would play each other.

Looks like i´m loosing in the final.I was pretty sure i would win this, but guess not.
50% mana sources and get screwed by Strip Mines anyway
So i get beat up by worse creatures without any removal ... this is just beyond me.
The "overpower" the opponent strategy worked like a charm so far and i´m really surprised it doesn´t seem to work out this time.Really didn´t see that coming.
0-2 loss as a player guess there is no way to recover from that. This is exactly the reason i don´t play my own games. Its just looks "weird" when you give yourself points like that.
Jatill 240 +2 // sal +1
Shantak 240 +2 // sal +1
Aww 240 +2 // sal +2
240sxforever 240 +6 // sal +0
240 -> 12
sal -> 4
3 reports left (won´t play my own game).I´m screwed.
Well i´ve playtested the deck quite a lot. Only Archon + Cyclops are "questionable". Guess i should have replaced them with cheaper creatures. The focus of the deck was quite obvious.Play more bombs than the opponent can handle mixed with some removal to survive the early stage.Main reason to play this version was the great AI performance, otherwise i prolly would have gone a 3 color route (GBW).Overall i´m happy with the result.
Especially during the "group" stage the focus on the AI performance paid off extremely well.
The only deck i was afraid to play against was Jatills after i saw the decklists - so i´m quite surprised to loose now.Was really sure the finals are going to be easier - guess not.
