Shantak vs Aww1979 2-0 // 01.02.2011
notes | Open
game1:AI started with Bitterblossom on turn2, while i only played a single Hymn to Tourach, 2x Blightning and 3 Lightning Bolts to the AI´s face. The Bitterblossom damage did the rest.1-0
game2:AI started with Soul Warden followed by Bitterblossom. My first play was a turn3 Blightning followed by a Blazing Specter.AI got rid of it but i just played a 2nd one.Hellfire Mongrel acted as The Rack while the AIs Soul Warden negated the Blossom Lifeloss until i could Doom Blade it. Another Blightning took the AI down to 2 and Mongrel kills the opponent during his upkeep.2-0
game3:-

The difference in starting HP really made this one easy for me.Just had to play a few Blightning and Lightning Bolt both games and his blossom did the rest.It is going to be a tough matchup for Aww.

Aww1979 vs Shantak 1-2 // 01.02.2011

game1:The AI opens with a turn1 Meekstone, couldn´t care less.I open with a turn2 Bitterblossom followed by a turn3 Vindicate on his Badlands.AI didn´t get a turn3 drop so i bought enough time to play all Buisness spells on my hand before the discard beginns (in the form of Ravenous Rats).AI Blightnings me and i decide to Path to Exile one of my Faeries before i discard my other remaining card - then the AI surprises my by targeting ITSELF with the Blightning instead - so i keep my Doom Blade.I use Elixir of Immortality early and shuffle my 2 removal spells and a Fetchland back in there.Meanwhile the Fearies did their job and we are both at 15 life.I play Soul Warden from the top - AI Doom Blade it.I Doom Blade on my own his fresh Hellfire Mongrel at his EOT.AI does nothing for 3 turns so i bring him down with my Faeries Army while i´m holding removal spells. 1-0
game2:This time i make the first spell of the Game (Bitterblossom) on turn2 .AI opens with a Hymn to Tourach.I respond with a Hymn to Tourach on my turn3.AI Hymns me on his turn so i am down to 0 cards and Lightning Bolts my first Faery.I Draw+Play Elixir and decide to use it during the opponents turn. The AI plays Hellfire Mongrel.I didn´t draw Removal but another land and Ajani (pumped my faieries).AI plays a secon Mongrel when i am at 10 hp (still 0 cards in my hand) and a blossom in play.AI kills Ajani via Mongrels during my upkeep and i keep attacking with half my force.Luckily his 2 Mongrells don´t attack into 2 Faeries.AI plays Blazing Specter and attacks with everything so i have to chumpblock and go down to 2 life.I take 2 damage from the Mongrel while i was at 4 - go down to 2 life and die during my upkeep to both Mongrels (2*2 damage +1 damage from blossom).1-1
game3:As usual i open up with a turn2 Bitterblossom - this time AI got Ravenous Rats on his turn2 .AI Blightnings me during his 3rd turn and plays Hellfire Mongrel on his 4th turn.I Path to Exile it since i am already down to 10 hp and don´t want to repeat the last game.My small faery army brings the AI down 19 while i am dangerously low at 9.I decide to play one of my two Vindicates in fear of discard - and the AI Blightnings me again.I´m down to 4 hp and Hymn to Tourach the AI from the top.Another Blightning and i am down to 1 life with a Bitterblossom in play. GG

5 games played and already a lost match.Sorry Aww but i had to play the Blossoms to win and the Shantaks heavy discard forced me into topdeck mode before i got any targets for the removal.Hellfire Mongrel is surprisingly dangerous aswell and has to be handled asap. Both lost games i got like 3 Blightning that is already half of the HP while the Blossom slowly chewed the rest.Really bad matchup for you.

Shantak vs Stroggoii 2-0 // 01.02.2011
notes | Open
game1:I mulligan to 6.AI opens with a turn1 Soul Warden and a turn2 Vampire Hexmage. I play my first spell at turn3 a Hellfire Mongrel.AI plays another Hexmage after attacking me with the first one.I play Blazing Specter and bring the AI down to 3 cards.AI attacks with both vampires and plays Bitterblossom.I Lightning Bolt his Warden and decide to go for a straight race.AI goes down to 1 card and takes 5 damage during his upkeep (2*2 Mongrells +1 Blossom).AI plays a 2nd Bitterblossom after attacking me.I attack with 2 Mongrels and Specter - the AI doesn´t block and goes down to 2 life - and dies during its upkeep. 1-0
game2:AI plays a turn1 Soul Warden, i opt to Lightning Bolt it on the spot (considering my hand that was the right play).AI does nothing so i Blightning it on turn3.AI just plays a Land again so i Blightning again. (ai down to 10).AI just plays a land and passes - i play Hellfire Mongrel (AI at 2 cards).AI plays+ uses Fetchland goes down to 3 durin its upkeep after i attacked again - then plays Vampire Hexmage , left with 1 card in his hand.I Hymn to Tourach the AI (0 cards) so it dies 2 upkeeps later.2-0 (AI discarded Worship it couldn´t play and removal when there was no target for it).
game3:-

Clean sweep. That Hellfire Mongrel along with Hymn to Tourach + Blightning is just nasty - especially when you start with less than 20 life.Kinda got lucky with the groups since both your opponents play Bitterblossom that also helps you significantly.

Stroggoii vs Shantak 2-0 // 01.02.2011

game1:I open with a Elixir of Immortality into Bitterblossom into Vampire Hexmage + 2nd Elixir before the AI plays his first spell ( Hellfire Mongrel ).I play a 2nd Bitterblossom and my 3rd(!) Elixir and start attacking.AI plays Blazing Specter and attacks with both creatures.AI is afraid of my faeries and doesn´t attack - so i use my first Elixir. The AI just plays Ravenous Rats , but my hand is already empty.I attack with everything (AI kills one Fae by blocking with Specter) and goes down to 9 while i sit at 6 (still 2 elixirs in play).AI attacks with everything and i block his specter with 2 faeries and go down to 8 after i used the 2nd Elixir.I topdeck Soul Warden and half his hp with an attack - we are both at 4 life, but i got an Elixir and a Faery Army.AI plays Blightning and Doom Blade my Soul Warden but doesn´t attack because of 2 untapped Faeries.I go down to 2 life at my upkeep and attack for the win.Phew.1-0
game2:I start with Soul Warden. AI plays Ravenous Rats on turn2.AI plays Hellfire Mongrel - i Path to Exile it EOT to play Ajani. Pump + attack with Warden.AI plays Blazing Specter on turn5 and attacks Ajani (i don´t have to discard).I play Bitterblossom and attack with a 3/3 Soul Warden.AI plays a second Blazing Specter and attacks with both.I draw+play Elixir and attack with my 3/3 Warden again (AI @ 12 , me @ 17).AI plays a third Blazing Specter (!) and attacks - i use Elixir EOT.I topdeck Worship and can´t attack with my Warden anymore because of Meekstone (doh!).AI refuses to attack with 3 Specters because of my 2 Faeries and plays Hellfire Mongrel.I play Bloodghast and pass. AI plays Rats.I topdeck Ajani and pump, then attack with everything - AI blocks and both our boards are almost empty again - just 2 rats left for him.I pump my fairiesw and attack (AI @ 9).AI plays Mongrel and kills Ajani during my upkeep with it.I play a 2nd Worship and attack with my 2/2 Faery.Topdeck my 3rd Ajani, pump and attack for the win with 15 life left.2-0
game3:-

Both games where open and interesting. Those Elixir of Immortality highly influenced my decisions, usually i wouldn´t play a 2nd Bitterblossom.

Aww1979 vs Stroggoii 2-1 // 01.02.2011
notes | Open
game1: I open with Soul Warden and turn2 Bitterblossom.AI plays Bitterblossom.I Oblivion Ring his Blossom during my turn.AI play Bloodghast and Soul Warden.I Doom Blade his Soul Warden and play Elixir of Immortality.AI plays a 2nd Bloodghast.I play Ajani and pump my small army and attack for 6 (AI @ 8).AI just plays Bitterblossom, but it is too late.I pump again and attack.(for 12 this time) while i got a massive 18 life left + a Elixir to use.1-0
game2:I mulligan a weak hand with 2 Worship into a better 6 card hand.AI opens with Elixir.I play Bitterblossom on turn2.AI plays Vampire Hexmage. I opt not to Vindicate it, planning to play Worship i just drew.AI uses Elixir.AI plays Soul Warden.AI plays Worship.I topdeck Soul Warden and Vindicate his Worship.I chumpblock his vampire a couple turns in a row.AI plays+uses Elixir (grrr).I Hymn to Tourach the AI - but it just discards 2 lands.AI Path to Exile my Soul Warden. And i finally draw removal for his Vampire. Now got 2 turns left to draw something to get rid of my own Bitterblossom or i die (even with Worship).Second Blossom from the top doesn´t help.AI plays + pumps with Ajani and THEN plays a 2nd Bloodghast and attacks with both. I am dead - with or without chumpblock i go down to 1 and die to my Blossom during my upkeep.1-1
game3:I keep my hand and open with Soul Warden, no Bitterblossom this time. The AI plays Bitterblossom and i Oblivion Ring it.AI Elixirs.I Hymn to Tourach and play a 2nd Soul Warden.AI plays Bitterblossom - now i kinda wish i´ve let the first one in play...I play Worship and keep attacking with my Wardens.AI got its first token and plays Ajani - then pumps.I draw Bitterblossom ,do the math and Path to Exile his token to attack Ajani.AI Path to Exile one of my Warden then plays Worship.AI uses Ajani one last time before it dies, but i can´t attack for now.Fortunatly the AI uses his 2/2 token to attack - so i keep trading my new 1/1 Faery with him - mainly because i got a Soul Warden in play and he slowly dies to his Blossom.I draw Vindicate. Not sure what i am supposed to destroy there. Blossom or his 2/2. i go for his blossom and use Elixir.AI plays Soul Warden and i use one of the 3 Doom Blade in my hand.Oblivion Ring from the top on his 2/2 (wasted i know) lets me attack again.I draw a 2nd Bitterblossom and play it - way ahead in life and a Soul Warden in play.I attack a few turns in a row. About time to get rid of Worship, but there are plenty of maindeck answers to that in the deck.Worship saves him a turn (2 Bloodghast in play he doesn´t use at all) and i curse when the AI plays another Worship.Fortunatly it plays Bitterblossom during his next turn and thus kills himself. 2-1

Pretty even matchup.Awws mass spot removal is giving him an edge i would say.I´ve misplayed that lost game by relying drawing a removal spell and got punished for it.Seemed to be the right play at that moment to "ignore" that Hexmage while Stroggoiis Ajanis might aswell turn the tide for him.In any other group Aww would clearly come out ahead, the AI plays it really good.It is just bad luck he got into this one.

game1:I mulligan and get rewarded with a great hand. 2 Soul Warden Bitterblossom Path to Exile Swamp and Plains !Me and AI both open with Soul Warden - so i decide to trade it and then play Bitterblossom.AI doesn´t play anything turn2 so it worked out.I play the second Soul Warden but the AI Doom Blade it on the spot. Then plays Oblivion Ring, but didn´t chooses the Token instead of Bitterblossom.I play Worship - AI Elixir.I play a 2nd Bitterblossom after the AI plays his first Blossom.AI Soul Warden - i Path to Exile it.I draw Ajani but lack the 2nd white mana for it.I play Vampire Hexmage and keep attacking. The AI keeps trading his only token while my army slowly growths.AI plays Elixir and Vindicates my Hexmage.I finally draw a 2nd Plains to play Ajani and pump my dudes - AI goes down to 4 - Vindicates one of my tokens. I attack again and bring him down to 1 - his Blossom bypasses Worship and i win.1-0
game2:We both start very slow(i should have used mulligan). AI opens with a turn3 Soul Warden and i only Elixir early.Turn 4 i draw and play Bitterblossom and finally got my 4th land.I play 2x Vampire Hexmage during the following turns that both get Path to Exiled.AI plays Ajani - i play Ajani to destroy it, holding a 2nd Ajani.I Path to Exile his Warden.AI wastes Vindicate + Oblivion Ring on my Tokens.I play Hexmage + Warden. AI Vindicate Hexmage and Doom Blade Warden.I play Ajani and pump my creatures.AI plays Bitterblossom, but i am ahead in tokens and got Ajani in play.I play Worship and keep pumping + attacking.I Path to Exile his only blocker (Token) and attack with 4/4 Faeries for the win. 2-0
game3:-

A human Aww would have won this. The AI kept wasting its removal for Tokens instead of the Blossom and thus fell behind way behind in the race.
Aww really got screwed by this group, in any other given group it would have been a ton easier for this deck.I was kinda afraid to play these matches since theoreticly both players could get Soul Warden Bitterblossom Worship and Elixir of Immortality for an infinite game.

game1:I mulligan a 6 land hand.AI opens with Soul Warden , my first spell is Sakura-Tribe Elder. Then Cultivate on turn3 while the AI plays Raise the Alarm followd by Honor of the Pure.I block the following attack and sac my elder.Acidic Slime gets rid of his enchantment, but the AI plays another Honor of the Pure AND another Raise the Alarm.I play Rampaging Baloth and get a 4/4.AI plays Ajani and pumps his army to 3/3 and attacks with everything!I block3 creatures but there are exactly 3 3/3s left to kill me with 9 life.0-1
game2:AI opens with Akrasan Squire , i open with Tribe Elder again.Raise the Alarm on turn2 - AI is scared to attack.I play a second Elder, AI plays a 2nd Squire and attacks with everything (3 1/1s)then plays Soul Warden.I block+sac to enable my next turn - Garruk that creates a 3/3.AI plays another Soul Warden and passes.I play Platinum Angel (turn 5?).Attack with a token and replace it (taking out 3 creatures).AI does nothing.I play a 2nd Platinum Angel and attack with Angel+Token. This time the AI didn´t feel like trading 3-1.AI plays Sun Titan.I play Ravenous Baloth and attack with both Angels.AI plays+activates Ajani. One Angel kills Ajani while the other brings the AI down to 18 life (damn wardens).AI does nothing so i just keep attacking with the Angels 3 more times for 8 each. 1-1
game3:AI starts with Akrasan Squire , i play my usual Elder.AI Raise the Alarm - i Cultivate. AI plays+activates Trusty Machete and attacks with everything (i block and sac) and play Primeval Titan (!).AI Raise the Alarm and Soul Warden.AI blocks and kills my Titan, causing heavy casualties on his side.I follow up with a small Baloth and another Elder.Acidic Slime gets rid of the equipment and i attack.AI does nothing , i play Garruk and get a 3/3.AI trades his last remaining creatures to kill Acidic Slime. So the path is clear for mini-baloth and token.I topdeck Rampaging Baloths and force another 2 tokens into play after attacking for 7.AI plays Crystal Ball and dies after my next attack. 2-1

Very "simple" match. Cognis got the Quantity, Jatill got the Quality - and since the AI just loves to do really bad trades this shouldn´t be much of a problem unless too many "pump" enchantments are in play.
Jatills low starting life might get problematic if you don´t get a Baloth into play early. Also Worship might eventually become problematic.

game1:I mulligan a 1land hand TWICE.My first spell is Honor of the Pure vs the AIs Sakura-Tribe Elder.I then play Worship (still no creature in play). AI plays Eternal Witness without a target and Cultivates - meanwhile i´m down to 15.I play my 5th land holding Ajani and Sun Titan - when the AI plays Primeval Titan.I finally draw a Creature - Akrasan Squire so Worship should keep me alive.AI plays 2 Ravenous Baloth, i draw and play a 2nd Squire - then the AI destroys Worship via Acidic Slime! and i just die.0-1 ...horrible horrible draw
game2:This time i get Lands and creatures in my opening hand and start with Soul Warden followed by Akrasan Squire.AI plays Sakura-Tribe Elder, i prepare my next turn by playing Raise the Alarm and another Squire and attack with a Squire (holding Honor of the Pure for a huge next turn) - AI is already down to 8.AI plays a 2nd Elder.I topdeck a 2nd Honor of the Pure and attack for the win. 1-1
game3:I open with Soul Warden.Followed by Raise the Alarm. AI plays Tribe Elder.I play Elixir and another Raise the Alarm during the opponents turn, he plays Eternal Witness (no target).I draw, play and equip Rusty Machete and send everything in AI trades his 2 creatures and plays Cultivate.I attack with my 3 remaining tokens after equipping and play Crystal Ball - AI is down to 2.AI plays Ravenous Baloth and sacs it imediately.Crystal Ball reveals Ajani - i play him and attack with everything for lethal.2-1

A lot less interesting. This should favor Cognis unless you got a horrible draw like i got in game one.

game1:AI opens with a turn2 Watchwolf.I could only Cultivate on the following turn.Really got in trouble when the AI played a 2nd Watchwolf since i was already down to 10 hp.Fortunatly i could play Ravenous Baloth - but i had to sac that when the AI played Oblivion Ring.So i tried Rampaging Baloth - it sticked and AI stopped its attacks, only playing Loxodon Hierarch.I played a 2nd Baloth and got rewarded by 2 4/4s just for a single landdrop.AI plays Glorious Anthem, making his creatures look dangerous again followed by a Soul Warden.Cultivate gave me another 4(!) 4/4s - so i played Garruk and untapped my lands to enable Overrun next turn.Eternal Witness chose Cultivate and i finally passed the turn.AI just played another Watchwolf. So i sac Garruk for overrun and 6 7/7 tokens, 2 9/9 Baloths and a 5/4 Eternal Witness just needed one swing for the win.1-0
game2:AI opens with Soul Warden, my first spell was Sakura-Tribe Elder.Watchwolf came into play for the AIs 2nd turn.I missed my 3rd landdrop and had to sac Elder while blocking - AI played another Soul Warden. So i played my 3rd Elder.AI got Glorious Anthem into play an kept attacking with his 4/4 Watchwolf (i block sac again).I could only Cultivate (was a Land short) so the AI attacked with everything.Once again i sac block - this time getting 4 damage by 2 wardens. But now i got enough mana to play Baloth and conveniently draw a land ontop of that.AI didn´t attack and Path to Exile the Baloth EOT.I trade my token with his wolf and play Platinum Angel and a second Angel during the following turn.AI paths one, but didn´t find an answer to the other.I play mini-Baloth, Garruk and Tribe Elder in one turn (+ token).AI went down to 27 (damn wardens) during the attack.AI played Emeria Angel.I topdeck another Rampaging Baloth and play Cultivate and started to untap via Garruk to enable Overrun.Accidently attack with Platinum Angel so Garruk might die, but it deoesn´t matter.AI attacks my face instead and plays a second Emeria Angel - fortunatly no landdrop.I Cultivate my last 2 lands into play and keep Platinum Angel back this time since i am at 5 hp - AI goes down to 15.AI attacks me again, i didn´t block and now its all or nothing. Removal on my Angel and i die - if not then i just overrun.Turns out AI didn´t have the removal and i won (would have been enough without the overrun too since i got a massive 4/4 army).2-0
game3:
Both very short games got decided by the Baloths.Got a bit lucky cause the AI didn´t get any lands after his 2 Emeria Angels hit play.

game1:I open with a turn2 Watchwolf- AI plays Sakura-Tribe Elder.Emeria Angel puts me in a great position - the AIs Eternal Witness won´t change that.Unfortunatly i miss my 5th landdrop , but Loxodon Hierarch makes up for that. AI trades Witness + Elder for my Watchwolf and went down to 4 after my attack.AI plays Ravenous Baloth that delays the game for a turn, but i got another land and thus another 1/1 flyer - along with Oblivion Ring and Path to Exile sitting in my hand. The AI plays Garruk, but its token can´t block my 2 flyers.1-0
game2:I mulligan a slow hand and start with a turn 1 Soul Warden. The AIs first play was a Eternal Witness on turn3.I Oblivion Ring it and a Baloth just to squeeze a few points of Warden damage through, but the AI plays another Baloth while i am sitting on 3 lands (screwed). AI plays another Baloth - this time the BIG one and i am in trouble.Glorious Anthem doesn´t change much, but at least keeps the AI from attacking. AI played Cultivate and got 2 4/4s - i´m in big trouble now. Got my 4th land and play a 5/5 Loxodon Hierarch , should stop the AI for a while.AI plays Platinum Angel - i respond with Emeria Angel + Terramorphic Expanse (meanwhile i get quite a lot of life via the Soul Warden).I decide to trade Emeria with his Angel by attacking - then replace the Angel with another one. AI plays Primeval Titan.I play Honor of the Pure from the top and attack with 2 3/3 Flying tokens + 1 5/5 flying Angel and force the AI to sac a beast to not die.AI plays Garruk and another 4/4 enters the game.My attack causes the AI to randomly sacrifice 4 creatures (including Rampaging Baloth).I Path to Exile his Primeval Titan to clear the way for the next attack and just win.2-0
game3:-

Pretty nifty match. The fact that the AI won´t attack you when you got a single big blocker out there saved me big time. A real player would have killed me.Emeria Angel is your best bet since Jatill got no way to handle it.

Cognis vs 240sxforever 2-0 // 01.02.2011
notes | Open
game1:I keep a slow hand, mainly because of Soul Warden.AI opens with Soul Warden aswell but unlike me follows it up with Raise the Alarm.Akrasan Squire and another Raise the Alarm join the AIs army when i play Loxodon Hierarch.AI plays another Squire and uses Elixir (31 hp now).I play Emeria Angel and got a Land to trigger it.AI just Elixirs again (38 hp now).I play another Hierarch and start attacking with my flyers.AI plays Crystal Ball.Terramorphic Expanse is giving me another 2 fliers to play with and and i keep attacking while the AI is doing "nothing".Honor of the Pure speeds up the process for me and 3 attacks later its over.1-0 ... really boring game.
game2:I keep a slow hand with many lands.AI opens with Soul Warden followed by Squire + Elixir that i could stop with a turn3 Watchwolf - AI Oblivion Rings it.I play Hierarch to bait removal instead of Angel.AI just plays Raise the Alarm - so i safely play Emeria with 2 fetchlands + Expansion in my hand and attack with Hierarch - AI trades his complete board for it.So i activate Landfall twice again and play Glorious Anthem for quite hard beats.AI just plays Raise the Alarm, but can´t handle my flying 2/2 army.2-0
game3:-

Once again Emeria saves the day while 3/3s and 4/4 just sit back to prevent the AI from attacking. Very boring games.

game1:I open with Soul Warden followed by Akrasan Squire and Elixir of Immortality and with the help of Honor of the Pure beat the AI down to 8 life before he cast his first spell Oblivion Ring.Squire beats him down to 5 when he plays Loxodon Hierarch - i Oblivion Ring it and attack again -> AI down to 6.AI plays Watchwolf and Oblivion Rings my Oblivion Ring - returning the Hierarch.I play Worship. The AI plays 2x Honor of the Pure and attacks me for 11.I draw Trusty Machete and happily play it and attack (no blockers left) for 5 - AI down to 5.AI plays a third Honor of the Pure and attacks for 13 - thanks to Worship i survive. I attack again an win. 1-0 ... Worship is like cheating against the AI
game2:I keep my hand and start with Akrasan Squire followed by Raise the Alarm. The AI plays Soul Warden and Path to Exiles a token.I Honor of the Pure and attack again - AI down to 12.AI Oblivion Ring again, this time the Squire so i am left with only a 2/2 token.I play another Squire and Crystal Ball.AI plays Watchwolf.Crystal Ball Reveals Machete and Ajani - i misread and put both on the bottom lol - but draw Worship instead ... at least i can´t loose now.AI Oblivion Rings my token and attacks me for the first time.I wait till the AI attacks me and then block with a Raise the Alarm token - getting rid of the Soul Warden - AI plays Loxodon Hierarch.Crystal Ball stacks my deck a bit so i Oblivion Ring his Hierarch and play Soul Warden while my tokens are free to attack.AI play Honor of the Pure and Oblivion Ring on my Ring, returning Hierarch.AI plays Emeria Angel.I stack my deck for a second Soul Warden.AI plays Glorious Anthem and starts attacking with his Angel.Ball reveal Oblivion Ring - i get rid of his Angel. After a couple turns of nothing happening AI plays his third Hierarch while i play Sun Titan.AI plays another Anthem (his Hierarchs are 7/7 by now).I finally draw Ajani - AI Path to Exiles my Titan but Ball revealed another.Meanwhile my small army starts to slowly outgrowth the opponent via Ajani while Crystal Ball provides me with the best possible draws. Its a huge stallfest for a while till the AI plays Emeria Angel (even my tokens are 8/8 by now) when Emeria took down my Ajani. My Titan kills a Hierarch and dies.I get a third Soul Warden in play and continue the stall fest (his creatures are bigger than mine).Since i got Worship i don´t have to worry about his Emeria Angel.A second Crystal Ball speeds up my search - AI Exiles one Warden ... i finally got to the point where all i could draw is Ajani, Raise the Alarm and Elixir of Immortality so i can eventually i will win this marathon.AI plays another Emeria Angel.Just to be safe i play the second Worship and think about aborting this game. The Ai will eventually run out of cards or i overrun him with tokens - but the AI suddenly decides it has got enough creaturs to kill me and attacks with everything. Thanks to Worship i survive and counterattack for the win. 2-0 yaaaaaaawn.
game3:-

Extreme boring game.Would have lost both without Worship.I really shouldn´t have included that card to the list.Really voting to ban the card from future tournaments.Even when the AI can get rid of it it prefers to kill a single worthless creature instead.

game1: Turn 2 Watchwolf , AI Paths it after attacking once.Glorious Anthem pumps Blinding Mage that attacks twice before Oblivion Ring removes it.AI plays Ajani but fortunatly doesn´t have any creatures while i am holding 2x Path to Exile.AI plays Necrataal , i Soul Warden. Path his Necrataal , attack once more (AI at 11).AI Oblivion Rings my Warden - i play River Boa.AI plays nothing so i Might of Oaks the Boa for the win. 1-0
game2:I start with a turn1 Soul Warden - AI Path to Exile it.So i am able to play a turn3 Emeria Angel.AI does nothing so i play Soul Warden Watchwolf and Terramorphic Expanse holding 2 Diabolic Edict.AI plays Emeria Angel - i edict it and attack again (AI at 5).AIs Necrataal destroys Emeria Angel - i edict it and attack for the win. 2-0
game3:-

Got quite lucky.AI played almost no creatures and i already had removal in my hand when it did.

game1:I keep a solid hand and Duress away Glorious Anthem.AI opens with Wild Nacatl followed by River Boa.Vampire Nighthawk gives me some time to breathe while the AI played another River Boa.Oblivion Ring gets rid of a Boa , Strip Mine denies the AIs black mana and i decide to trade a few lifepoints.AI plays Blinding Mage so i have to commit.I topdeck Ajani and use the pump ability.AI plays Anthem but doesn´t attack because of my untapped 3/4 Vampire.I pump it again and attack - AI is down to 2 life.AI didn´t attack again so i sit at 17 life when he playes another Blinding Mage.AI didn´t tap my Vampire so i won. 1-0
game2:I keep a very slow hand with 4 lands and 3 4 drops.AI opens with Soul Warden followed by Watchwolf.I Oblivion Ring his Watchwolf. The Ai plays another Soul Warden and keeps attacking.I play Emeria Angel - AI Path to Exile it.This enables me to play Grave Titan.AI plays Wild Nacatl but he is in trouble now.I play Emeria Angel and trigger the landfall.Duress reveals just 2 Plains so i just attack with Titan+friends.AI trades his complete board for 2 tokens, so the Titan came through and set the AI down to 26 (Wardens ...).AI does nothing while i am holding Necrataal and Path to Exile for possible blockers.Titan, Emeria and tokens attack so the AI is down to 12.AI plays Glorious Anthem and Blinding Mage - Necrataal clears the path and i just had to attack.2-0
game3:-

Nice and easy.AI could have put more of a fight at game1 simply by tapping my Vampire before it could attack. Its lifelink kept me save even though i knew he was holding Might of Oaks (Duress on turn1) - he just never got his 4 Mana for it due to Strip Mine.Game2 was very smooth. Not much of a fight there.

game1:I keep a slow hand with 2 Edicts, Path to Exile 2 lands and Glorious Anthem. AI plays Bitterblossom on turn 3 while i didn´t draw any buisness.AI plays Trusty Machete and i take 1 hit while playing a 2nd Glorious Anthem, waiting for black mana to play my own blossom or edict.Next turn didn´t reveal a Swamp so i had to path his Token and go down to 7 (Solemn Simlacrum also attacked).I finally draw Terramorphic Expanse but it seems to be too late. AI played a 2nd Simulacrum and attacks for 8. Nothing i can do.3 Black cards in my hand + Might of Oaks.0-1
game2:I keep a 4 Land hand because 2 Watchwolf are in there.AI Path to Exile the first i play. The 2nd one sticks and AI just plays+uses Elixir of Immortality.I play 2 River Boa and attack with the Wolf.AI plays Solemn Simulacrum.I attack with everything for 7 and play Wild Nacatl and Blinding Mage.AI plays Grave Titan.I think a while and pass the turn to tap his titan (so i can attack next turn).AI plays Trusty Machete and tries to Vindicate a Boa - i just regenerate.AI equips Machete to a token so it is 4/3.I draw a 2nd Might of Oaks from the top and can finish the game.1-1
game3:I mulligan a horrible hand and got 2 Nacatl + 3 lands + Emeria Angel.AI takes a few hits before playing Vampire Nighthawk. I decide to Path to Exile it. I attack again with both Nacatls and play River Boa (missed 4th landdrop).AI plays Necrataal and kills my Boa.I draw a Land so i play Emeria Angel but can´t attack.AI Path to Exile my Angel and attacks.I draw Glorious Anthem from the top and attack for 6.AI attacks and then Paths a Nacatl and plays Simulacrum.I play Soul Warden and Disenchant his Simu and attack (AI at 10 me at 9).AI plays Grave Titan while my hand is empty (urgh!).I topdeck Might of Oaks and attack with Nacatl (hope he blocks with titan).I waste Might of Oaks and the Titans deathtouch kills my Nacatl aswell.AI plays Necratal and kills my last creature.I topdeck Watchwolf and play it.AI Vindicates my Wolf and plays Bitterblossom - then attacks (i´m at 1 life). I draw Blinding mage and pass the turn to lose.1-2

Really unlucky in the first game.Hand was full of Black cards that i couldn´t play.Third game Grave Titan forced me to waste Might of Oaks that i wanted to use to win.AI got the better cards and removal while i got 1 and 2 mana dorks.

Re: Feb Tournament (Limited Shop) Results

Postby ALEX Ryugami » 01 Feb 2011, 09:37

First, I'm not a native speaker of English, so maybe my report is weird to read :P and it's my first tournament report, so pardon me for any format mistakes. Any feedbacks are welcomed :)

Round 1

Group A
Shantak
Aww1979
Stroggoii

Shantak vs Aww1979 2-1
notes | Open
Game 1: The AI's Hymn to Tourach screws my discard deck! >.< Then I lose to Faerie tokens.
Game 2: Hymn, Blightning, and Hellfire Mongrel screws the AI. with Bitterblossom, the AI just commit a suicide.
Game 3: Once again, the discards and the Mongrel wins me the game.
Aww1979 vs Shantak 1-2
notes | Open
Game 1: Note to self: Worship can't save you from your own Bitterblossom. I still lose even I've activated Elixir of Imortality twice, especially because of your own card >.<
Game 2: Elixir save my life and cards. The Mongrel is prisoned by Oblivion Ring, and Bitterblossom wins me the game.
Game 3: Bitterblossom comes when my life is low enough. Even Soul Warden comes later, I still lose to Blightning.
Shantak vs Stroggoii 2-0
notes | Open
Game 1: Discard + Hellfire Mongrel: Very good!
Game 2: Same with game 1
Game3:-----------------------
Stroggoii vs Shantak 2-1
notes | Open
Game 1: Bloodghast doesn't return to the battlefield when I hit a land. Even with Worship, I still die due to my own Bitterblossom.
Game 2: Weirdly, the AI doesn't have much removals on my creatures and discards to me (maybe because I just have black creatures on the field :P ) Combined with Ajani Goldmane, my Faerie army plus a Vampire Hexmage wins me the game.
Game 3: The AI doesn't cast many spells in early game, make me hits the opponent easily. Even the pumped Bloodghast is locked under Meekstone, a Bitterblossom comes to save the day.
Aww1979 vs Stroggoii 2-1
notes | Open
Game 1: A mirror match! :D By the way, Bitterblossom hurts, especially when your opponent has two Bitterblossoms on his side and yours chipping your life point away.
Game 2: At first, I have to remove my own Bitterblossom with Oblivion Ring because my life point is so low, but luckily, I can handle the AI's creatures with removals, then the second Bitterblossom is showing up and win me the game.
Game 3: Two Soul Wardens and two Bitterblossoms on my board when the AI has two Bitterblossoms. That means my life is going to be skyrocketted when the opponent life is reduced. When I have Ajani, I activate his second ability to ensure the game ends faster.
Stroggoii vs Aww1979 2-0
notes | Open
Game 1: The opponent doesn't do much. My pumped Vampire Hexmage and Bloodghast beats the AI to death.
Game 2: I just realize if the AI doesn't bring any meaningful threats, having Bitterblossom on the field wins me the game easily.
Game3:-----------------------

Group B
Jatill
Cognis
240sxforever

Jatill vs Cognis 0-2
notes | Open
Game 1: AI's army was too strong to be handled, especially combined with Honor of the Pure, Trusty Machete, and Ajani Goldmane. I just draw most lands and Cultivate.
Game 2: Still, the AI's army are too fast to be handled.
Game3:-----------------------
Cognis vs Jatill 2-0
notes | Open
Game 1: Two Soul Wardens, two Akrasan Squires, and two Raise the Alarams ensure my fast victory.
Game 2: I have fast assault until the opponent has bigger creatures. Luckily, I have Ajani Goldmane and pump my creatures for the victory.
game3:-----------------------
Jatill vs 240sxforever 0-2
notes | Open
Game 1: The AI's air force hurts me much.
Game 2: Loxodon Hierarch realy hurts, especially when my life point is too low when I have a Rampaging Baloths. Even the Baloth is Oblivion Ringed.
Game3:-----------------------
240sxforever vs Jatill 2-0
notes | Open
Game 1: Watchwolf + Glorious Anthem is very good. Oblivion Rings handle the AI's threat pretty easily.
Game 2: The AI has one life left, but he has big threats that afraid to attack (since it doesn't want to be counterattacked :P) fortunately, I pull an Emerian Angel to win the game at high life.
Game3:-----------------------
Cognis vs 240sxforever 0-2
notes | Open
Game 1: I got a good start with two Akrasan Squires... until the opponent swarmed me with bigger threats. >.<
Game 2: The only threat that I have is an Akrasan Squire with Honor of the Pure. Soon, I am outnumbered and lost.
Game3:-----------------------
240sxforever vs Cognis 2-0
notes | Open
Game 1: It's fun to see Oblivion Ring wars. Even I only pull one Oblivion Ring, my big army trumps the opponent.
Game 2: A long game, since the AI can pull a creature to activate Worship. But my big army is unstopable.
Game3:-----------------------

Group C
Aswan Jaguar
Alex Ryugami
Juzamjedi

Aswan Jaguar vs Alex Ryugami 2-0
notes | Open
Game 1: Watchwolf and River Boa finishes the game easily.
Game 2: Weenies and removals win me the game.
Game3:-----------------------
Alex Ryugami vs Aswan Jaguar 2-1
notes | Open
Game 1: I lost to Bitterblossom even I have two Grave Titans on the field.
Game 2: AI doesn't play many threats, and Bitterblossom makes the AI's life lost faster.
Game 3: What a nice victory with a lot of tokens and Ajani's support ^^
Aswan Jaguar vs Juzamjedi 1-2
notes | Open
Game 1: Soul Warden helps my life amount to be safe, and win through Faerie tokens plus Might of Oaks.
Game 2: Lost to Bitterblossom + Trusty Machete and Ajani.
Game 3: Even I've removed every threat AI has brought, I still lose to Grave Titan since I didn't draw any Soul Wardens. >.<
Juzamjedi vs Aswan Jaguar 2-1
notes | Open
Game 1: I almost lost, but a Vampire Nighthawk with two Trusty Machetes stabilizes my life so I can win the game.
Game 2: Bitterblossom and three(!) Glorious Anthems are too fast to be handled.
Game 3: AI's Bitterblossom is Vindicated, and there aren't any threats from it, so my armies are going through it easily.
Alex Ryugami vs Juzamjedi 1-2
notes | Open
Game 1: Grave Titan handles the game easily.
Game 2: I only draw Emeria Angel as the threat, and outnumbered by the AI's Grave Titan.
Game 3: The first person to draw more Grave Titan wins, and I lose to the AI because of this.
Juzamjedi vs Alex Ryugami 2-0
notes | Open
Game 1: Trusty Machete and Grave Titan clear the way for me.
Game 2: Same with last game. I regret to not include Trusty Machete :/
Game3:-----------------------

Juzamjedi's Side Event | Open
Side event report (Juzamjedi's deck):
Deck 1: Win 1 HP
This one is not that hard. I kill AI's Nekrataal with Vindicate, and waiting to 1 life point, then kill my opponent with Faerie tokens.

ALEX's Points: 1
Juzam's Points: -1

Deck 2: Win 1 HP
I get an early start with Bitterblossom and Trusty Machete, but he cast Damnation when I have a horde of tokens. The AI then cast Inferno Titan, which I'm afraid because I don't want to lose :P, but Path to Exile easily handle it. Then I'm waiting till dropped to one life, and luckily the AI doesn't have any Inferno Titan or burn spells to be cast, so I win with 1 life.

ALEX's Points: 1+1=2
Juzam's Points: -1-1=-2

Deck 3: Win with 1 HP
AI got a Masticore and a very big Rockslide Elemental since the Masticore always pinging my Faerie tokens :P it's hard to keep the life point very low while still not lose, so I use two Elixir of Immortalities to keep my life high enough so I won't lose to Inferno Titan. Luckily, he only pull one Titan :D

ALEX's Points: 2+1=3
Juzam's Points: -2-1=-3

Deck 4: Win with 7 HP
The AI has Bitterblossoms, me has Bitterblossom too. Even with two Trusty Machetes, AI doesn't want to attack me (maybe it is scarred for the counterattack :P ) And I kill the AI with seven life left since the AI only has one life left with two Bitterblossoms on his board.

ALEX's Points: 3+7=10
Juzam's Points: -3-7=-10

Deck 5: Win with 1 HP
This one is a bit difficult. I just kill his Nevinyrral's Disk with Vindicate, and while waiting my life point to be low, I block every creature with Faerie tokens and his River Boa with Nekrataal :P I kill every Primeval Titan with Path to Exile so he won't trampling me off with the Titan + Might of Oaks. Then I win the game with a lot of tokens on my board

ALEX's Points: 10+1=11
Juzam's Points: -10-1=-11

Deck 6: Win with 1 HP
Kill AI's Stoic Angels and Sun Titan. It got a Tawnos's Coffin to kill my Faerie tokens (nice card by the way,) but my horde of Faerie tokens are too big to be handled by the AI.

ALEX's Points: 11+1=12
Juzam's Points: -11-1=-12

Deck 7: Win with 2 HP
Got two Vampire Nighthawks, and the board is stable until the opponent got a Masticore. The Masticore kill every creature I have, but luckily, I pull one Grave Titan. I let my guard down until I left at two life, then do the counterattack with the only Titan on the battlefield.

ALEX's Points: 12+2=14
Juzam's Points: -12-2=-14

Deck 8: Win with 3 HP
Rampaging Baloth, Worship, Primeval Titan, and Sun Titan are very annoying, but my deck has a lot of removals, so I can handle them easily.

ALEX's Points: 14+3=17
Juzam's Points: -14-3=-17

Deck 9: Win with 1 HP
Two Bitterblossoms make my life point decreased evenly, so I activate my Elixir of Immortality in order to reduce my life point to one. When that happen, I kill my opponent by passing opponent's Loxodon Hierarchs and Sun Titans

ALEX's Points: 17+1=18
Juzam's Points: -17-1=-18

Deck 10: Win with 3 HP
AI doesn't do anything much, except killing my Faerie tokens with Razorfin Hunter. I got a lot of creatures until Nevinyrral's Disk blows the world off. Lucky for me, the AI cast another Razorfin Hunter and Vulshok Sorcerer to ping my life, so I can win with low life. Oddly, it commit a suicide by cracking its Scalding Tarn at one life, then killing my Zombie token with Electrolize on his own turn, d'oh! >.<

ALEX's Points: 18+3=21
Juzam's Points: -18-3=-21

Total points: 21 for me and -21 for Juzamjedi

Comment: Juzam's deck was very fun to play and "screw" since he has Bitterblossoms and Elixir of Immortalities to play around :D my deck is similar to his but with different build, so I am familiar with his deck. Surprisingly, he has twenty life points, which pointing Juzam's good deck building and still have a lot of points to be spent on Handicap 7 cards. :) :)

Shantak vs Stroggoii 2-1

game1: Forgot that Bloodghast wouldn't return, but BB took it down anyway.
game2: BB got me to 3 before Ajani saved the day.
-----------------------
Aww1979 vs Stroggoii 2-0
notes | Open
game1: Team BB + Ajani FTW.
game2: I draw every land in my deck before finding a BB, with 6 cards left. Luckily my next card is Ajani so I take it down in teh nick of time.
game3:-----------------------

Stroggoii vs Aww1979 2-1
notes | Open
game1: Double O-ring killed double token instead of BB. Oops.
game2: Ai rings my BB this time. Nothing is going on, so I decide to Ultimate Ajani (keeping a counter). Doom Blade laughs at Avatars. I end up making my first 13 land drops, and the AI's BB kills me despite having Worship.
game3: Elixir finally does something useful for a change... bait an O-ring. Avatar gets Doomed again. the same Ajani makes another, which is also Doomed. Now at 46 life, BB finally eats Ajani, while I still have jack. 11 cards in deck, 3 of which are BB. Ding! Finally got it (good thing I didn't activate Elixir!) The AI finally dies to its own BB while having over a dozen Faeries in play-----------------------

Side Event
Overall, I did very well except when I got too greedy.
>Shantak's deck<
score | Open
Deck1 - I let the AI play the first creatures so it could work on my 23 point life total. I had the AI with an empty hand, and I would win the with 1-3 life left barring a topdeck. The AI got back-to-back Nantuko Shade, and I accidentally died. Sorry!
Deck2 - I open on double Bolt, so I figure I'll beat the AI down to 3 or less, then take a pounding, and then Bolt the AI. Duress fights Counterspell and things go according to plan. I win with 3 life.
Deck3 - Double Cyclops Gladiator killed me. I didn't hold back at all; it just happened.
Deck4 - Bitterblossom does the heavy lifting for both of us. I win with 1 life.
Deck5 - I hold the Bolt and win at 1 again.
Deck6 - Same plan, but I only get down the 3 when winning. Had to Bolt myself to get that far :)
Deck7 - I let the AI attack me to 1 before I Bolt him.
Deck8 - The AI got going this game, and threatened to do about 60 damage in 1 turn, so I had to finish him off while I was still at 7.
Deck9 - Another game I blew. The Ai refused to play ANY spells, so I started Bolting and Blightning myself down in life. I forgot to keep 1 burn spell in hand, though, so when the AI wised up and played Titans for 4 turns in a row (after not playing them forever), I got overrun.
Deck10 - Bolted myself down to 2 here, since Duress told me I was not in risk of getting burned out that turn.

Group A
Aww1979: 10
Shantak: 5
Stroggoii: 3

Shantak vs Aww1979 1-2
notes | Open
game1: I kept 2 Lightning Bolt for the AI which had Bitterblossom, AI was at 7 when it played Elixir of Immortality and the game was over.
game2: I discard all the cards AI could use and after that it was no problem.
game3: I have a good start but Elixir of Immortality buys the AI time and Bitterblossom and Soul Warden are just too much especially since the AI has enough removal for my threats.
Aww1979 vs Shantak 2-1
notes | Open
game1: AI was able to pressure me and with 3 Blazing Specters it really hurt my hand and I only had 2 lands out, but that was enough for 2 Soul Warden and 2 Bitterblossom which were enough to win.
game2: AI plays Hymn to Tourach and I lose Swamp and Doom Blade. I play Hymn to Tourach and the AI losses identical cards, lol. I was mana screwed and couldn’t play Worship, drew the land for it after the AI discarded it.
game3: Hymn to Tourach takes out 2 Mountain, and Vindicate takes out 3 lands so the AI is mana screwed while I build my army.
Shantak vs Stroggoii 2-0
notes | Open
game1: If Bloodghast could return it would probably be a much tougher match but since it doesn’t discard + Hellfire Mongrel did the finishing touches.
game2: Hellfire Mongrel again.
Stroggoii vs Shantak 2-0
notes | Open
game1: I was at 4 and nearly ran out of steam but was able to win at the last possible moment.
game2: I finally played Worship, twice. I won because of that since I drew some 17 lands and 8 other cards so it was really surprising I won.
Aww1979 vs Stroggoii 2-0
notes | Open
game1: An overall easy game with Ajani, Soul Warden and even Bitterblossom in the end. I Vindicate AI’s Scrubland and Bitterblossom at the beginning so that also helped a lot.
game2: I have Worship, 2 Sould Warden and Bitterblossom while AI has 2 Bitterblossom and I destroy all Soul Warden it plays so it was just a matter of time, but without Worship I would’ve lost.
Stroggoii vs Aww1979 0-2
notes | Open
game1: The AI is at 3 when it plays 2 Soul Warden and starts gaining life thanks to 2 Bitterblossom. I have Worship but only Soul Warden and keep drawing lands. AI plays Path to Exile and kills me.
game2: At first I have to mulligan because I get no lands and then when I start playing I get nothing but lands and the AI kills everything I put in play. Then I draw Worship, 3 times in a row with no creatures in play. I stall with Elixir of Immortality but the AI kills everything I manage to play and 2 Bitterblossom just run me over.

Group B
240sxforever: 8
Cognis: 6
Jatill: 4

Jatill vs Cognis 2-1
notes | Open
game1: AI has a better start but 2 Garruks make 6 tokens and Eternal Witness gets him back again.
game2: I have a good hand but it will take me a few turns to get going. AI opens with Akrasan Squire, Raise the Alarm and Honor the Pure. I put a blocker in and the AI plays Oblivion Ring. Too low on life, really too low.
game3: I make a beast army and they trample over the AI.
Cognis vs Jatill 2-0
notes | Open
game1: AI had a slow start ramping lands and Soul Warden with Trusty Machete was enough for a speed kill.
game2: Honor of the Pure + Soul Warden, some tokens and few Oblivion Rings were enough for another quick win.
Jatill vs 240sxforever 2-1
notes | Open
game1: I had like 700 lands but didn’t draw a single Garruk and Platinum Angel got exiled and Emeria Angel flew over me.
game2: Ah, Rampaging Baloths + Primeval Titan + Garruk Wildspeaker = gg.
game3: Platinum Angel saved my ass from a quick death.
240sxforever vs Jatill 2-0
notes | Open
game1: I was mana screwed for a while with only Watchwolf to block, but the AI didn’t wish to attack. Later in the game when I got enough lands it was a breeze.
game2: AI didn’t stand a chance.
Cognis vs 240sxforever 2-1
notes | Open
game1: I had a better start but Emeria Angel was the death of me.
game2: I won because of Worship even though the AI had 3 Glorious Anthem and Honor of the Pure, although Worship only bought me one round.
game3: I got Worship at the last possible moment and the AI kept going all in to kill me while my Ajani pumped army finished the game in a few rounds.
240sxforever vs Cognis 2-0
notes | Open
game1: We trade punches in the beginning and then the AI gives up after I exile all it’s creatures. It had Worship, Honor of the Pure and 2 Plains but didn’t play anything, I’d still win but the AI doesn’t seem to play creature enhancing cards if it doesn’t control any creatures.
game2: Emeria Angel and 2 Path to Exile for 2 Sun Titan MVP.

Group C
Aswan Jaguar: 9
Juzamjedi: 7
Alex Ryugami: 2

Aswan Jaguar vs Alex Ryugami 2-0
notes | Open
game1: 2 Bitterblossom and Might of Oaks to speed things up.
game2: A close game but Bitterblossom and 2 Glorious Anthem were enough to win in the nick of time. Blinding Mage kept tapping Grave Titan, I would’ve lost without that.
Alex Ryugami vs Aswan Jaguar 0-2
notes | Open
game1: Ran out of cards dealing with AI’s threats, didn’t get a single creature all game. I started great with 2 Strip Mine and Duress but just ran out of cards.
game2: AI had an explosive start combined with Might of Oaks was unstoppable.
Aswan Jaguar vs Juzamjedi 2-1
notes | Open
game1: I had to mulligan a few times to get lands and the AI overpowered me with Grave Titan and Bitterblossom.
game2: A slower start from the AI and a good hand allow me to pull off Bitterblossom + Soul Warden + Glorious Anthem.
game3: I win the Path to Exile competition and win with Bitterblossom and Glorious Anthem.
Juzamjedi vs Aswan Jaguar 2-1
notes | Open
game1: I Vindicate 2 lands to slow down the AI and then overpower with Bitterblossom and Grave Titan.
game2: AI wins the Bitterblossom contest.
game3: Nekrataal with Trusty Machete outruns the AI.
Alex Ryugami vs Juzamjedi 2-1
notes | Open
game1: I was able to get my Grave Titan out faster.
game2: This time the AI was faster to Grave Titan, three times.
game3: Strip Mine to screw the AI and the game was quickly over.
Juzamjedi vs Alex Ryugami 2-0
notes | Open
game1: I can hardly notice I’m playing with the other deck since it feels like a mirror match. Anyway Vampire Nighthawk with Trusty Machete and Grave Titan did most of the work.
game2: I was more agro although we mostly had identical cards. Bitterblossom was a real winner here since it pinged the AI little by little while 2 of my and AI’s Grave Titan killed each other.

Round 1

Group A

Shantak vs Aww1979win 2-1 finished
Shantak vs Aww1979 | Open
Game1:
clear win I Duress, play 2x Ravenous Rats, Blazing Specter, and finally Hellfire Mongrel. I Blightning and win easily.

Game2:
open game Hymn, Hymn... and AI topdecks Bitterblossom. And then 2x Elixir of Immortality. Now the 2x Blightning + Lightning Bolt aren't enough to kill. I sandbag them for too long and AI plays Hymn on me. At the end of the match the AI is at 3 life... guess I should have just Blightning'd straight away.

Game3:
tough win This game I strip the AI's hand again, but sit there doing nothing for a bunch of turns in a row. AI O-ring's a Meekstone and a Ravenous Rats. It eventually sticks Bitterblossom to race. A couple turns later I topdeck Blazing Specter to race. I draw Lightning Bolt + Blightning and AI dies to his own Bitterblossom. A human player would have won; they would have held the Oblivion Ring 's for something more important than Meekstone and Ravenous Rats.

Aww1979 vs. Shantak win 2-0 finished
Aww1979 vs Shantak | Open
Game1:
clear winI get Bitterblossom + Sould Warden going. AI plays Blazing Specter -> I path it. AI plays Hellfire Mongrel -> I doom blade it. AI never kills Sould Warden so I finally get there about 7 turns later.

Game2:
tough winAI strips my hand low. I get Bitterblossom early and last card in hand is Ajani Goldmane. I play it against Hellfire Mongrel and keep +1'ing for life. I topdeck O-ring to deal with the Mongrel and start using Ajani to pump faeries. Easy win from there, but I don't think Ajani should have survived against a human opponent.

Shantak vs Stroggoii win 2-0 finished
Shantak vs Stroggoii | Open
Game1:
clear winAI doesn't draw any life gain so I win super easy. 18-0.

Game2:
clear winAI plays 1x Elixir of Immortality. I strip the AI's hand and then play Hellfire Mongrel. Upkeeps + Attacks: Mongrel deals a total of 16 damage.

Stroggoii vs Shantak lose 1-2 finished
Stroggoii vs Shantak | Open
Game1:
clear winI keep a hand with 2x Elixir's. I topdeck Bitterblossom, then Ajani Goldmane, and win easily by maintaining a high life total.

Game2:
clear lossWorship might stop damage, but it doesn't stop life loss. AI pressures me too much early and my Bitterblossom + AI's Hellfire Mongrel kill me. I die on one of my upkeeps to my own Bitterblossom.

Game3:
clear lossI mulligan to 5. AI sticks a Blazing Specter that I can't kill for several turns. I kill it, then AI plays another one and I die.

Aww1979 vs Stroggoii win 2-0 finished
Aww1979 vs Stroggoii | Open
Game1:
clear win I have Bitterblossom and AI loses 2 of his copies to my Hymn. Pretty easy from there.

Game2:
clear winI don't have Bitterblossom, but I have answers to it. I stall AI for a while, get Bitterblossom + lifegain going and win from there.

Stroggoii vs Aww1979 win 2-0 finished
Stroggoii vs Aww1979 | Open
Game1:
clear winI get Bitterblossom and AI does not. Easy win.

Game2:
clear winAI has Bitterblossom too, but I have Elixir and Soul Warden to put it away.

Group B

Jatill vs. Cognis win 2-1 finished
Jatill vs Cognis | Open
Game1:
clear winI Keep a hand with mana ramp into Primeval Titan and win easy.

Game2:
clear lossI mulligan into a hand with STE and Cultivate, but no Primeval Titan or Rampaging Baloths. I die the turn before I draw Platinum Angel. If my life total had been 3 points higher I might have had a chance, but these kind of hands happen with ramp sometimes.

Game3:
clear winI enter BEAST MODE and nothing can stop me!

Cognis vs. Jatill win 2-0 finished
Cognis vs Jatill | Open
Game1:
clear winI curve out with tokens, Honor of the Pure, and then Ajani GOldmane. AI doesn't have enough blockers and I push through for a quick win.

Game2:
open gameA looooong drawn out game of beefy token creatures. This game made me quite happy for the Crystal Ball. Scry 2 every turn was quite valuable here.

Jatill vs. 240sxforever win 2-1 finished
Jatill vs 240sxforever | Open
Game1:
clear winI ramp and put out lots of beast tokens. AI has a couple of O-rings, but I still overwhelm with beasts.

Game2:
clear lossI keep a hand with no ramp, but 2x Ravenous Baloth and a Primeval Titan. Turns out this is not even close to good enough; AI plays Soul Warden, Honor of the Pure, Glorious Anthem, and then Watchwolf. My low life total and slow start aren't enough.

Game3:
clear winI ramp up and enter BEAST MODE and overwhelm the enemy easily.

240sxforever vs. Jatill win 2-0 finished
240sxforever vs Jatill | Open
Game1:
clear winI heard that 4/4 bird tokens are pretty tough to beat. Caw Caw!

Game2:
clear winPretty much a repeat of game one except this time I also have Watchwolf's early. This is probably the most lopsided game I have played in any match so far.

Cognis vs. 240sxforever win 2-1 finished
Cognis vs 240sxforever | Open
Game1:
clear lossThings are going OK with my Akrasan Squire beating down. AI O-rings it and I never draw another creature until it's too late. Too bad because I had him beat down to 4.

Game2:
clear winWe trade some removal spells early. Eventually I land a Sun Titan and it's game over from there.

Game3:
clear winI curve out with anthem effects for an easy win.

240sxforever vs. Cognis win 2-0 finished
240sxforever vs Cognis | Open
Game1:
clear winI fall behind a little. But Emeria Angel + multiple anthem effects is simply too strong!

Game2:
clear winI overrun the AI easily with multiple Hierarchs and anthem effects.

Group C
Aswan Jaguar vs. Alex Ryugami win 2-0 finished
Player8 vs Player5 | Open
Game1:
clear winBitterblossom + Might of Oaks make for a pretty easy win.

Game2:
clear winSoul Warden + 2 Might of Oaks vs. no creatures from AI. Easy win.

Alex Ryugami vs. Aswan Jaguar win 2-0 finished
Alex Ryugami vs Aswan Jaguar | Open
Game1:
open game 2x Duress and Strip Mine to slow down AI. I don't have much action. Eventually I get Vampire Nighthawk and many turns later Emeria Angel to beat down in the skies.

Game2:
clear win This game I get 2x Emeria Angel early and swarm with bird tokens. Caw caw!

Aswan Jaguar vs. Juzamjedi win 2-1 finished
Aswan Jaguar vs Juzamjedi | Open
Game1:
open game AI has an early Bitterblossom that I Disenchant. AI plays another Bitterblossom. I play Bitterblossom. AI gets 2x Grave Titan and I get no Anthem or Emeria Angel to outrace the tokens. I lose. At the end I was dead because of too many Zombie tokens; maybe if I play my own Bitterblossom (instead of Disenchant 'ing the first one from AI) and stall with my fliers I might have stabilized better.

Game2:
open game I play an early Bitterblossom. AI does not, but it plays 2x Grave Titans that I have to tap down with Blinding Mage's. I play Might of Oaks for the win.

Game3:
clear win I get Soul Warden + Bitterblossom and win easily.

Juzamjedi vs. Aswan Jaguar win 2-0 finished
Juzamjedi vs Aswan Jaguar | Open
Game1:
clear win I get Vampire Nighthawk + Trusty Machete going. AI is stuck without White mana so when it fetches for it I Vindicate the tapped plains. Pretty easy win after AI mana screw.

Game2:
clear win AI plays Bitterblossom, but I play 2 Bitterblossom, I have more life and I also draw Elixir of Immortality. Easy win.

Alex Ryugami vs. Juzamjedi win 2-0 finished
Alex Ryugami vs Juzamjedi | Open
Game1:
tough winI take Bitterblossom with a turn 1 Duress. After we trade removal for a while. AI plays a Grave Titan first, but I have one on my next turn. I swing with my Grave Titan for extra zombies and win a long game from having extra zombies. If AI had attacked with his Grave Titan first I would have lost instead.

Game2:
clear winI build up an air force with Emeria Angel + Vampire Nighthawk. AI doesn't kill them and Grave Titan isn't enough to save AI.

Juzamjedi vs. Alex Ryugami win 2-0 finished
Juzamjedi vs Alex Ryugami | Open
Game1:
clear winI play Bitterblossom and AI doesn't. Pretty easy win.

Game2:
clear winI use Solemn Simulacrum to ramp into a turn 5 Grave Titan. Super easy win.

Postby Shantak » 01 Feb 2011, 19:51

Round 1

Group A
Shantak - 8 points
Aww1979 - 4 points
Stroggoii - 6 points

Shantak vs Aww1979 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: Two Hymns and then Blazing Scepter. AI gets Elixir to slow me down, but with Hellfire Mongrel I do plenty of damage.
game2 - 2-0: Though I kill AI's hand he gets Bitterblossom in play and it blossoms unopposed. Luckily I can Lightning Bolt the last damage I need.
game3:-----------------------

Unopposed Bitterblossom could cause problems if AI's life doesn't go down quickly. The last game was really tight.
Aww1979 vs Shantak 1-2
notes | Open
game1 - 0-1: I get to attack AI's hand before he does mine. Soon we're both at zero cards and zero non-land permanents. I cast Hymn to make AI discard two Hymns. On my last turn my deck has just 23 cards left but I haven't drawn a single Bitterblossom. Ravenous Rats kill me.
game2 - 1-1: I get third turn Bitterblossom and end up Vindicating AI lands. I don't get life and I'm worried my Blossom might kill me, but AI doesn't get dangerous cards and I kill him when I'm in 4 life.
game3 - 1-2: Really close. I have Bitterblossom in play and I'm racing to kill AI, but two Hellfire Mongrels hurt me to five life before I get my hand to three and I can't fully attack even when I draw Worship, as Bitterblossom would kill me next turn. I try to count the numbers the best I can, but I don't seem to be able to attack so that I could leave blockers and do enough damage before Bitterblossom kills me - which happens in a few turns.

Sorry, Aww. That extra life in my deck makes it harder for Bitterblossom to race it. I could never make Soul Warden stick for extra life and Elixir of Immortality wasn't enough. Worship doesn't really help at all with Bitterblossom in play - AI can still damage you to 1 life and Bitterblossom, which is the only win condition, would finish you then.

Shantak vs Stroggoii 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: Elixirs give AI 10 extra life, but prevent AI from drawing anything to destroy my Specter and Mongrel.
game2 - 2-0: I can keep AI in 0 cards but two Vampire Hexmages cause real problems to me, requiring double blockers to kill. I'm afraid I'll die to Bitterblossom and Bloodghast when I get Hellfire Mongrel. I'm about to win for sure when AI gets Ajani and pumps his critters. Luckily my Ravenous Rats block his Bloodghast and I go down to 1 life. Mongrel + Bitterblossom kill AI next turn.
game3:-----------------------

More lifegain and more threats makes Stroggoii's deck more dangerous than Aww's, but with less removal my creatures do more. This time it was enough, but second game was really close.
Stroggoii vs Shantak 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: It starts pretty open - I get more creatures and lose only three cards to discard. Then I get Ajani Goldmane to pump my small army. It's a massacre.
game2 - 2-0: AI opens with discard and I lose my second land. Then I lose everything in my hand except Bitterblossom. Two turns later AI doesn't get anything more than lands and I get my missing land for Bitterblossom - and have two Elixirs in play. I deal damage with faerie rogues while trying to keep my life up (I also have Soul Warden in play). It works great and AI dies while I'm in 13 (drew lots of Elixirs).
game3:-----------------------

AI didn't get best draws here (with more Mongrels games might have beeb different) but with enough life, Bitterblossoms are unstoppable.

Aww1979 vs Stroggoii 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: Mirror match is probably in Stroggoii's advantage if it goes long enough, so I try to end it soon by playing two Bitterblossoms and Pathing AI's Soul Warden. It works only barely (thanks to AI's Elixir), and I win in 2 life.
game2 - 2-0: Soul Warden, Bitterblossom, Ajani Goldmane.
game3:-----------------------
Stroggoii vs Aww1979 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: With Elixir, I do double Bitterblossoms and the Ajani. Easy.
game2 - 2-0: AI's Elixir slows me down, but I got a starting Bitterblossom and he got his turn six.
game3:-----------------------

Group B (2.2.2011)
Jatill - 4 points
Cognis - 6 points
240sxforever - 8 points

Jatill vs Cognis 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: I take some early damage, then Cultivate and cast Acidic Slime to destroy a land. Then Primeval Titan which isn't stopped. Finished with Garruk Overrun.
game2 - 2-0: On my second turn, I'm being kicked in the ass by 4/3 Soul Warden. Luckily he stops when I get Ravenous Baloth, though if AI did attack he would finish me quickly thanks to Trusty Machete. AI goes to 34 life, but when I get Rampaging Baloths going, he goes down quickly (-22).
game3:-----------------------

Seems like Jatill's deck might use some more life. Other than that, once it gets to six mana, the rest seems to be easy.
Cognis vs Jatill 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: AI is far too slow for single Akrasan Squire getting boost from Exalted, Honor of the Pure and Ajani Goldmane and I get him to 3 life. However, then his creatures start to come. Situation turns upside down. I cast Worship and wonder how (and when) this game is going to end. Reading the decklists, it seems that if AI knows how to use Acidic Slime to destroy Worship before I draw another Worship, he wins. Otherwise I'll deck AI in 17 turns (thanks, Primeval Titan and Cultivate). I build an army to keep AI from attacking and Ob Ring one Rampaging Baloths to decrease the chance of the game freezing. Then AI gets Acidic Slime but uses it on the Oblivion Ring. Whew! Then it's just a slow wait...

With his deck at 2 cards, AI casts Platinum Angel. The next turn, another. Luckily they don't work for real in Manalink, as I then win by decking (at 86 life).
game2 - 2-0: I'm far too fast for AI, thanks to Warden, Squire and Machete.
game3:-----------------------

The first game was really agonizing. I couldn't outrace the creature advantage Rampaging Baloths gave. Just a little bit more speed and green deck goes down easily.

Jatill vs 240sxforever 1-2
notes | Open
game1 - 0-1: I'll have to use Eternal Witness to chump block, but I get to 6 mana and cast Primeval Titan. It then eats Path to Exile and I lose to attackers.
game2 - 1-1: AI is slower now and my game starts okay. AI then catches up and I only remain in play thanks to Platinum Angel and then trample to victory.
game3 - 1-2: My Primeval Titans get Ob-Ringed. I get a Platinum Angel to help me, but it gets the third Oblivion Ring. Then I don't simply get more useful creatures.

Ramp doesn't ramp fast enough when there's only so little life. Even late game bombs won't help if they get removed or AI has fliers in play to deal the missing damage.
240sxforever vs Jatill 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: Emeria Angel and her birds win unopposed.
game2 - 2-0: Now it's Emeria Angel and two Loxodon Hierarchs. I have removal for AI's bombs.
game3:-----------------------

Deck is fast enough to do critical damage before AI gets good board presence - easy wins.

Cognis vs 240sxforever 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: Three Akrasan Squires give me a 4/4 attacker on turn two. AI gets a blocker when in two life, and then I attack with all squires.
game2 - 2-0: Akrasan Squire, Honor of the Pure and Trusty Machete is as brutal. I deal with blockers and swing for win.
game3:-----------------------

Exalted works really well here - though AI has efficient creatures, exalted, equipped and honored attackers are better.

240sxforever vs Cognis 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: AI gets plenty of small creatures and Honor of the Pure, but my creatures are bigger (and some fly). Ajani would cause problems, but the fliers kill AI before his creatures get too big.
game2: I have to mulligan twice to get even two lands. My fourth land takes ages, but I manage while AI builds his life. When I start to cast medium creatures I already have three +1/+1 boosters in play and my creatures kill AI surprisingly quick.
game3:-----------------------

After the previous matchup, I expected this might be harder, but it wasn't. Most significant thing seemed to be that AI couldn't block Emeria Angel and birds.

Group C (3.2.2011)
Aswan Jaguar - 6 points
Alex Ryugami - 3 points
Juzamjedi - 9 points

Aswan Jaguar vs Alex Ryugami 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: AI couldn't do anything to quick start and Might of Oaks finisher.
game2 - 2-0: After spending a Strip Mine, AI has some land troubles, allowing me to swing quickly. Again Might of Oaks finishes.
game3:-----------------------

Not much to say - this deck won before AI managed to cast a single creature.
Alex Ryugami vs Aswan Jaguar 0-2
notes | Open
game1 - 0-1: I Duress away a Might of Oaks, but have no creatures and draw land for some turns even with Crystal Ball helping me. Emeria Angel doesn't come soon enough to help me and is Pathed anyway.
game2 - 0-2: I Duress one Bitterblossom, Oblivion Ring another and then he casts third. Well, I get to beat with Vampire Nighthawk and Ajani. AI keeps blocking the Nighthawk after some swings and I would probably manage with extra life from Nighthawk and Elixir, but then AI casts Might of Oaks and I go down hard.
game3:-----------------------

I was really missing the early spells other than Duress, and never got enough mana for Grave Titan. Arcane Sanctums instead of Scrublands saved some points but wasn't worth it in my opinion.

Aswan Jaguar vs Juzamjedi 0-2
notes | Open
game1 - 0-1: I do some early swings, but AI gets Grave Titan to play and I spent my removal for Vampire Nighthawk. I use Might of Oaks to kill the titan, but then AI casts Ajani, boosting some zombies, casting Bitterblossom, very soon overwhelming me.
game2 - 0-2: It was race between my few creatures and AI's Bitterblossom. When Grave Titan entered, I lost my chance.
game3:-----------------------

This time I felt I could have used some more removal. I might have won just the Bitterblossom race, but with Grave Titans dropping in, I had no chance without a removal spell in hand.
Juzamjedi vs Aswan Jaguar 0-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: I was struggling initially, but when I got Grave Titan in play and Pathed AI's Might of Oaks target threatening my Titan, the rest was a piece of cake.
game2 - 2-0: Pathed two creatures, AI Pathed my Nighthawk, then resolved Grave Titan which again was the finisher.
game3:-----------------------

With Bitterblossom and Grave Titan, Juzamjedi's deck feels like its combining the best parts of the other Group C decks. I'm betting this one will win the whole tournament.

Alex Ryugami vs Juzamjedi 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: I'm able to survive the early game and get Grave Titan in play. AI's Vampire Nighthawk + Trusty Machete slows me down a bit but not enough - with Crystal Ball I find removal fast enough.
game2 - 2-0: AI starts with two Elixirs. We both get Grave Titans and they're dealt with. I'm not left with enough creatures and get damaged until I get another Titan. I trade the titan for four creatures and then end up with a better position thanks to Ajani Goldmane and then win.
game3:-----------------------

This time the opposing deck wasn't as fast as Aswan Jaguar's deck, so I got to cast my Grave Titans. AI had them too, so it wasn't easy in any case.
Juzamjedi vs Alex Ryugami 2-0
notes | Open
game1 - 1-0: I start with plenty of removal. Then we both cast Grave Titans and both get removed. Luckily I can Vindicate AI's Oblivion Ring and get mine back and it ends the game.
game2 - 2-0: AI starts with slow lands and I get Bitterblossom, Vampire Nighthawk and Trusty Machete. AI gets one Nighthawk that I Path away.
game3:-----------------------

Side Event (4.2.2011)
jatill's deck
score | Open
Deck1 - Loss
Shantak +15, jatill -15
Lose my Primeval Titan to a Hymn, can't destroy AI's Nantuko Shade(s).

Deck2 - Win with 1 life left
Shantak +1, jatill -1
I manage Platinum Angel past countermagic. It eats a Doom Blade. Then I get another and return the first with Eternal Witness, just as I'm in 3 life. I start attacking, go safely to 1 life and then swing for kill.

Deck3 - Win with 1 life left
Shantak +1, jatill -1
AI gets two Inferno Titans in play, I have single Primeval Titan. As AI doesn't understand to attack, we're at a stalemate. I then get Platinum Angel, but I would have to AI do some damage before I hurt him too much (I'm still at 16). I attack to let AI kill my creatures (take him to 4), allow him to attack (brings me to one and kills my second Platinum Angel) and the next turn I finish with my remaining Angel.

Deck4 - Loss
Shantak +15, jatill -15
I get enough lands but I'm saving Platinum Angel until I have to cast it or know Vindicates are gone. Once two are spent, I cast one angel so I can attack and let AI attack me. It works, as I go to 1 life, get AI to 1 and would kill him next turn... then comes that third Vindicate at my Platinum Angel. AI attacks with six creatures, I have three blockers... Damn it! It was close and I think I might have managed it with a different play, dealing a bit more damage to AI :(

Deck5 - Win with 1 life left
Shantak +1, jatill -1
AI casts and uses three Nevinyrral's Disks in succession (his Cudgel Troll survives all of them). Luckily when he's done I know he has no destruction left and I cast my Platinum Angel(s). The end is very easy.

Deck6 - Win with 1 life left
Shantak +1, jatill -1
AI casts Meekstone (nice combo with Blinding Mage), but I hold an Acidic Slime so I'm not worried about it. After the slime strikes, AI casts his other Meekstone. To stop myself from worrying I cast Platinum Angel and hope Tawnos's Coffin doesn't show up. Then comes Stoic Angel. Gah! And AI's Sun Titans have brought his last Meekstone back. I'm finding myself quite locked and attack with the creatures I still have untapped, killing Stoic Angels and bringing AI to 6 life (I'm at 1). I kill AI's Sun Titans but my only hope seems to be if I get Meekstones destroyed with Acidic Slimes or cast some power 2 creatures which manage to attack unblocked for a few times. Eternal Witness helps both, returning my first Slime. And then second Slime. Meekstones are out, I untap and attack for 38 damage!

Deck7 - Win with 2 life left
Shantak +2, jatill -2
I let AI through with Juggernaut for three swings, sac one beast to Ravenous Baloth and kill AI when in two life.

Deck8 - Win with 1 life left
Shantak +1, jatill -1
We both get Rampaging Baloths and Primeval Titans in play. I take a risk, attack with Garruk Overrun and manage to bring AI to 5 life. Then I start sending my beasts at Primeval Titan to thin my creatures and to get AI attack sooner or later. Then AI casts Emeria Angel. Nice. I let it attack for a few turns, then cast Platinum Angel for protection, let AI alpha strike me to 1 life and finish with my own alpha.

Deck9 - Loss
Shantak +15, jatill -15
I allow myself to be attacked, then bring blockers while in 6 life and hope AI doesn't bring Lightning Helixes to play. I almsot die when letting him bring me to 1... and then he Ajani-boosts Birds of Paradise which would kill me if I didn't sac my Ravenous Baloth. Then he swings again and my only hope seems to be topdecking Platinum Angel. It doesn't happen. 12 cards left in the library, none of them land. I had bad luck with creatures this game.

Deck10 - Win with 3 life left
Shantak +3, jatill -3
I bring AI to 3 life with Primeval Titan, gather some blockers and hope his pingers will bring my life down. Then I'm at 6 life and AI casts Inferno Titan. Had he targeted it and his three pingers at me, I would be dead. Now I quickly alpha strike to kill him. After last two blocker pings I win at 3 life.

Total: Shantak 55 points, jatill -55 points

This went better than I believed - with little control elements in the deck I assumed I would lose half the games. Platinum Angel was made for this side event. Life control with Ravenous Baloth was also useful as an option, even if I rarely needed to use it

Postby aww1979 » 01 Feb 2011, 22:00

Group A

Shantak vs Aww1979 (done) | Open
Game 1: Playing first, I keep Hymn to Tourach, 2x Badlands, 3x Mountain, Duress. With the discard I should be able to cripple AI and I have the mana to cast anything in the deck.
Turn 1: Play Badlands, Duress. I see Swamp, Plains, Elixir of Immortality, Soul Warden, Scrubland, Worship, Path to Exile. I'll snatch the elixir away before it can use it; with 15 life, the AI needs that. AI plays Scrubland, Soul Warden.
Turn 2: Draw Hellfire Mongrel, cast Hymn to Tourach. AI discards Plains and Swamp, so I guess I just manascrewed it hard. AI plays Plains and attacks for 1.
Turn 3: Draw Meekstone, play Mountain, Hellfire Mongrel. Unsurprisingly, it's hit with Path to Exile EOT and I fetch Swamp. AI attacks for 1 with Soul Warden but does nothing else.
Turn 4: Draw Blightning, play Mountain and Blightning; AI discards Doom Blade and Worship. Cast Meekstone; it's almost useless in this matchup, but I have nothing else to do. AI plays Swamp and attacks for 1.
Turn 5: Draw/play/sac Bloodstained Mire for Badlands. AI attacks for 1 and plays another Soul Warden. (18-14 life)
Turn 6: Draw Lightning Bolt, play Mountain. Bolt a soul warden. AI attacks for 1 and passes.
Turn 7: Draw/cast Doom Blade on Soul Warden. (no other legal targets in the deck besides ajani avatar so it's a clear play) AI casts Oblivion Ring on Meekstone :p
Turn 8: Draw/play Swamp. AI casts Bitterblossom. Uh oh.
Turn 9: Draw/play Ravenous Rats; AI discards Doom Blade. AI gets a faerie, plays Plains and passes.
Turn 10: Draw Blightning. AI only has 1 card in hand, so I keep that for now. Attack with the rats and the faerie trades with it. AI makes a faerie and passes.
Turn 11: Draw/play Mountain, cast Blightning; AI discards Hymn to Tourach and Oblivion Ring. AI makes a faerie, plays Scrubland, and attacks for 1. (life 16-8, nobody has a hand)
Turn 12: Draw Duress. AI makes a faerie and swings for 2.
Turn 13: Draw/play Ravenous Rats; AI discards Plains. AI makes a faerie and swings for 3. (life 11-6)
Turn 14: Draw/play Blazing Specter, attack with it and rats. Faerie trades with rats and specter hits for 2, AI discarding Swamp. AI makes a faerie and swings for 3. (8-3 life)
Turn 15: Draw/play Lightning Bolt on AIs face and win. 1-0

Game 2: Drawing first, I see 2x Hellfire Mongrel, 2x Ravenous Rats, Blightning, Hymn to Tourach, and a single Mountain. I mulligan and get 2x Blazing Specter, 2x Doom Blade, Badlands, Swamp. That isn't any better, given the AI has mostly black faeries to do business with. I do have 2 lands, though, and am already down to 6, so it's a tough call. I wish this hadn't happened against my own deck. I will keep the hand and hope it works out, or at least hope that's what shantak would want.
Turn 1: AI plays Plains, Soul Warden. Draw Swamp, play Badlands.
Turn 2: AI plays Swamp, attacks for 1, and casts another Soul Warden. At least I have Doom Blade targets. Draw/play/sac Bloodstained Mire for Badlands, cast Doom Blade on a Soul Warden.
Turn 3: AI plays Swamp, Elixir of Immortality, attacks for 1, and activates elixir. Draw Hymn to Tourach, play swamp and Hymn; AI discards Path to Exile and Oblivion Ring.
Turn 4: AI attacks for 1 and casts Bitterblossom. Draw Blazing Specter, play swamp and specter and attack for 2; AI discards Worship. (life 19-20, it got 1 when I cast that creature)
Turn 5: AI makes a faerie, attacks for 1, and casts another Bitterblossom. Draw/play Mountain, cast Blazing Specter, attack for 4.
Turn 6: AI makes 2 faeries, attacks for 2, and casts Vindicate on a specter. Draw/play Mountain, cast Doom Blade on Soul Warden, cast Blazing Specter. AI has two untapped faeries, so I pass.
Turn 7: AI makes 2 faeries and casts Path to Exile on a specter; I fetch swamp. Draw/play Montain. (16-15 life)
Turn 8: AI makes 2 faeries, plays swamp. Draw/play Mountain.
Turn 9: AI makes 2 faeries and passes. Draw Hymn to Tourach. AI has only 1 card in hand, and if it was removal it would've been played already. I'd bet it's just land, though it could be Ajani. I'll cast the Hymn, since AI should be playing anything else it gets. AI discards Doom Blade; makes sense, I forgot about that one.
Turn 10: AI makes 2 faeries and plays Plains. Draw/play Swamp. (life 16-9)
Turn 11: AI makes 2 faeries and passes. Draw/play Hellfire Mongrel.
Turn 12: AI makes 2 faeries, takes 2 from Mongrel and casts a third Bitterblossom. Draw/play Duress; AI discards Hymn to Tourach.
Turn 13: AI makes 3 faeries and takes 2 from mongrel, and is dead. 2-0

<sigh> a human would have won that game by just suicide attacking with all the faeries long ago. It had 17 of them on the last turn and one Blazing Specter held them all back.

Aww1979 vs Shantak (done; warning: game 2 extremely long) | Open
Game 1: Playing first, I keep Swamp, 2x Path to Exile, 2x Plains, Scrubland, Hymn to Tourach.
Turn 1: Play Scrubland. AI plays Badlands.
Turn 2: Draw Bitterblossom, play swamp and Hymn to Tourach; AI discards Blightning and Badlands. AI plays Mountain and Ravenous Rats; I discard Plains.
Turn 3: Draw Hymn to Tourach, play plains and Hymn; AI discards its own hymn and a swamp. AI plays Mountain and attacks for 1; I don't waste a path on that.
Turn 4: Draw Elixir of Immortality, play Bitterblossom and pass. I don't want to tap out for the elixir; AI might cast a blazing specter next turn, and I want to be ready. AI plays Mountain, attacks for 1, and casts Hellfire Mongrel. I Path to Exile the mongrel EOT; AI fetches swamp.
Turn 5: Make a faerie, draw/play Soul Warden. Cast Elixir of Immortality; AI responds with Lightning Bolt on Soul Warden. AI casts Hellfire Mongrel; I Path to Exile it EOT, and AI fetches swamp.
Turn 6: Make a faerie, draw Oblivion Ring, attack for 1. AI plays swamp. EOT, use Elixir.
Turn 7: Make a faerie, draw Ajani Goldmane, attack for 2. AI passes.
Turn 8: Make a faerie, draw/play swamp, cast ajani, use 2nd ability, attack for 6. AI casts Meekstone. (fortunately, when my creatures get big, they also get vigilance :P And I have O-Ring in hand anyway)
Turn 9: Draw/play Plains, use Ajani's 2nd, attack for 12. AI casts Hellfire Mongrel.
Turn 10: Make a faerie, Ajani takes 2 from mongrel and dies, draw Path to Exile. Attack for 14 and win. 1-0

Game 2: Drawing first, keep Vindicate, 2x Swamp, Doom Blade, Oblivion Ring, Worship, Path to Exile. Need a white land, but hopefully I get it soon.
Turn 1: AI plays Badlands. Draw/play Swamp.
Turn 2: AI plays Swamp and Ravenous Rats; I discard Worship. Draw Soul Warden, play swamp.
Turn 3: AI plays Mountain, Hymn to Tourach (I lose Doom Blade and Vindicate) and attacks me for 1. Draw Vindicate, play swamp.
Turn 4: AI plays Swamp, Blazing Specter, and attacks for 3; I discard Path to Exile. Draw/play Plains (yay!) and cast Oblivion Ring on the specter.
Turn 5: AI plays/sacs Bloodstained Mire for Badlands and attacks for 1. Draw/play Hymn to Tourach; AI discards Lightning Bolt and Swamp. Cast Soul Warden.
Turn 6: AI casts Meekstone. Draw/play Swamp. I have Vindicate in hand and nothing else, and both sides have a 1/1 and nothing else. Due to the prevalence of discard in the AI deck, and the hasted specters (which will discard my vindicate) I decide to immediately spend Vindicate to kill the rats, rather than most likely lose it. Then I attack for 1 with Soul Warden.
Turn 7: AI passes. Draw/play/activate Elixir of Immortality, attack for 1.
Turn 8: AI plays Badlands. Draw Doom Blade, attack for 1.
Turn 9: AI casts Blightning on me; I take 3 and lose the Doom Blade. Draw/play Plains, attack for 1. (life 12-18)
Turn 10: AI casts Doom Blade on Soul Warden. Draw/play Scrubland.
Turn 11: AI passes. Draw Oblivion Ring.
Turn 12: AI casts Ravenous Rats; discard Oblivion Ring. Draw/play Plains.
Turn 13: AI attacks for 1 and casts Ravenous Rats; I have no hand. Draw/play Swamp.
Turn 14: AI attacks for 2. Draw Path to Exile. Finally, it's not a land.
Turn 15: AI attacks; I path one rat and take 1, AI fetching Mountain. Draw/cast Hymn to Tourach; AI discards a hymn and Duress.
Turn 16: AI attacks for 1. Draw/play Scrubland.
Turn 17: AI casts Lightning Bolt on me and attacks for 1. (life 3-18) Draw/play Soul Warden.
Turn 18: AI passes. Draw/play Scrubland.
Turn 19: AI passes. Draw/play Ajani Goldmane! Woo! Gain 2 life with it to get out of lightning range.
Turn 20: AI plays Bloodstained Mire. Draw/play Oblivion Ring on Ravenous Rats (see turn 6 for my reasoning) and gain 2 life with Ajani, then attack for 1.
Turn 21: AI plays Bloodstained Mire, casts Duress on my empty hand, then casts Blazing Specter and attacks me directly for 2. (ignoring my ajani, which is unusual) (life 6-17; I gained 1 from soul warden there) Draw/play Plains, gain 2 with ajani, attack for 1.
Turn 22: AI attacks me for 2 directly. Draw Doom Blade, gain 2 with ajani, attack for 1.
Turn 23: AI attacks me for 2, I discard Doom blade. AI casts Hellfire Mongrel, giving me 1 life. Ajani takes 2 damage from the Mongrel, and I draw Bitterblossom and cast it. Use ajani's 2nd to pump soul warden to 2/2, hoping to deter the mongrel.
Turn 24: AI attacks me for 2 with the specter. Make a faerie, ajani takes 2 from mongrel, draw/play Vindicate on Hellfire Mongrel. Use ajani's 2nd, attack for 3 with soul warden. (5-12 life)
Turn 25: AI plays Swamp and Doom Blade on Soul Warden. Make a faerie, draw/play Plains, gain 2 life with Ajani, and attack with a 2/2 faerie; the specter trades with it. (didn't want to pump with ajani that turn, as I was at 4 life, if AI had lightning, I'd take 3 and die to bitterblossom)
Turn 26: AI passes. Make a faerie, draw Path to Exile. Gain 2 with Ajani, attack for 1. (7-11 life)
Turn 27: AI plays Mountain. Make a faerie, draw another Path to Exile. Pump with ajani, attack for 4 with 2 2/2 faeries. (6-7 life)
Turn 28: AI plays Swamp. Make a faerie, draw/play/use Elixir of Immortality. Pump creatures with ajani, attack for 9 for the win. 2-0

Wow, that was an intense game! We both got severely manaflooded at the beginning, and I thought I was in big trouble when AI got a creature or two and I just kept topdecking land, but Ajani really won MVP that time.

Shantak vs Stroggoii (done) | Open
Game 1: Playing first, I have Hellfire Mongrel, Doom Blade, Lightning Bolt, 2x Ravenous Rats, Duress, Badlands. Only one land, but it's a dual, and even one more land and I can start doing very well. With the bolt and duress I can hopefully stall to get that land, so I keep the hand.
Turn 1: Play Badlands, cast Duress, and see 2x Plains, Worship, Soul Warden, Elixir of Immortality, Path to Exile, Bloodghast. Hmm... not sure what to pick. I think I'll let it have the path; I'd be happy if it hit a rats later with that. I'll take the Elixir and hope discard hits worship before AI can cast it. AI plays Plains, Soul Warden.
Turn 2: Draw/play Mountain. Yay! Cast Ravenous Rats; AI discards Bitterblossom. Yay! (AI gains 1 from soul warden; boo!) AI plays Marsh Flats, Path to Exile on my rats; I fetch swamp. AI attacks for 1 and sacs Marsh Flats for Scrubland.
Turn 3: Draw/cast Hellfire Mongrel. AI plays Plains.
Turn 4: Draw Ravenous Rats. Cast Lightning Bolt on Soul Warden, cast Ravenous Rats; AI discards Worship. Attack for 2 with mongrel. AI takes 2 from mongrel during its upkeep (only 2 cards) and plays/sacs Marsh Flats for Scrubland.
Turn 5: Draw/play Mountain, cast Hellfire Mongrel, attack for 3. AI takes 4 during upkeep from mongrels, and plays Plains, Vampire Hexmage.
Turn 6: Draw/play/sac Bloodstained Mire for Badlands, cast Ravenous Rats; AI discards Bloodghast. AI takes 4 during upkeep from mongrels and attacks with the hexmage; I take the 2.
Turn 7: Draw/play Blightning for the kill; AI discarding swamp. 1-0

Game 2: Drawing first, keep 2x Ravenous Rats, Badlands, Meekstone, Swamp, Bloodstained Mire, Duress.
Turn 1: AI plays/sacs Marsh Flats for Scrubland. Draw Mountain, play Badlands and Duress, seeing Ajani Goldmane, Plains, Path to Exile, Elixir of Immortality, Swamp, Bitterblossom. I take bitterblossom.
Turn 2: AI plays Swamp, Elixir of Immortality. Draw Mountain, play/sac Bloodstained Mire for Badlands, cast Ravenous Rats; AI discards Path to Exile.
Turn 3: AI plays Soul Warden and activates elixir. Draw/play Mountain, cast Ravenous Rats. (should've attacked with the other rats first; AI gains 1 from soul warden) I'm not sure what the AI discarded, because I clicked too fast. The graveyard has swamp, bitterblossom, path to exile in it, but with the elixir bug I'm not sure what might've happened. Either it discarded another Path or the rat discard didn't work; not sure which. AI has one card in hand left. Cast Meekstone, attack with the first rats; AI takes the hit, rather than trading with Soul Warden, which surprises me.
Turn 4: AI plays Scrubland, Ajani Goldmane, pumps soul warden and attacks for 2. Draw/play Swamp.
Turn 5: AI plays Marsh Flats, pumps with ajani, attacks for 3, then sacs Marsh Flats for Scrubland. Draw Blightning, play Swamp. AI has no hand so I keep blightning.
Turn 6: AI pumps with Ajani, casts Worship, and attacks. I chump with a rat. Draw Duress, play Mountain.
Turn 7: AI pumps with Ajani (it's dead now) and attacks; I chump with a rat. AI casts Bitterblossom. Draw/play Mountain.
Turn 8: AI makes a faerie and swings for 5. Fortunately, Meekstone will lock her down now. Draw/play Badlands.
Turn 9: AI makes a faerie and swings for 1. Draw/play Swamp, cast Blightning; AI discards Path to Exile and Plains.
Turn 10: AI makes a faerie, casts Elixir of Immortality, swings for 2, and uses the elixir. Draw Hellfire Mongrel, play mountain and mongrel. I have 10 land in play, so I haven't missed a land drop yet. This deck has too much land :p
Turn 11: AI makes a faerie and takes 2 from mongrel, then attacks me for 3. (life 6-21) Draw/play Blazing Specter, attack with Hellfire Mongrel for 2. (keeping specter for defense) Cast Duress to see what AI is holding, and it's just a swamp.
Turn 12: AI makes a faerie, takes 2 from mongrel, and passes. Draw/play swamp.
Turn 13: AI makes a faerie, takes 2 from mongrel, casts Elixir of Immortality, and attacks with the 5 faeries. OMFG, did AI just do something smart? Block one with my specter and take 4. AI uses Elixir EOT. (life 2-21) Draw Lightning Bolt. Looks like I'm dead unless AI screws up. Attack with mongrel; AI takes the hit for 2.
Turn 14: AI makes a faerie, takes 2 from mongrel, casts Elixir of Immortality, and attacks with 5 faeries. I have 2 life, a specter and a bolt; I'm dead. 1-1

(Taking Bitterblossom with turn 1 Duress still seems the right decision, even after getting owned by ajani and, to a lesser degree, the elixir. I think it would have been even worse had I taken one of the others, giving it turn 2 bitterblossom, especially as I never managed to kill that soul warden all game. On turn 6, I should not have chumped with a rat, saving it for turn 8; that would have saved me 2 life and bought me an extra turn in the end, but it would not have made any difference; I was way too far behind. I could have also attacked on turn 12 with the mongrel, which might've caused AI to block with 2 faeries. I didn't do it at the time because I didn't expect AI to attack like that; it was the right call by the AI, but 99 times out of 100 it doesn't attack in that situation. If the AI had been REALLY smart, it would've just taken the 2 had I done that, which wouldn't have changed the result at all)

Game 3: Playing first, keep Mountain, Lightning Bolt, Blazing Specter, 2x Swamp, Duress, Meekstone.
Turn 1: Play Swamp, Duress. AI has Vampire Hexmage, Swamp, Marsh Flats, Worship, Scrubland, Plains, Bloodghast. Obviously, I take worship. AI plays Scrubland.
Turn 2: Draw Blightning, play Swamp and Meekstone. AI plays Scrubland and Vampire Hexmage; I Lightning Bolt it EOT.
Turn 3: Draw/play Mountain, cast Blightning; AI discards Ajani Goldmane and Plains. AI plays Marsh Flats, Bloodghast, and sacs flats for Scrubland.
Turn 4: Draw/play Badlands, cast Blazing Specter and attack with it; AI discards Swamp. AI attacks for 2 and passes.
Turn 5: Draw Lightning Bolt, play Swamp, attack for 2; AI discards Worship. AI attacks for 2; I take the hit rather than bolting the bloodghast. AI casts Vampire Hexmage.
Turn 6: Draw/play Badlands, attack with specter; AI takes 2 and discards Marsh Flats. AI casts Elixir of Immortality and attacks with both creatures. Crap; I'd been hoping to use bolt to finish the AI, but with that elixir the math changes, and I decide to bolt the hexmage instead, taking 2 from bloodghast. AI uses elixir EOT. (life 17-12)
Turn 7: Draw/play Ravenous Rats (AI has no hand) and swing for 2. With the specter out, AI is not ever going to have a hand, so playing the rats to deter bloodghast seems right to me. AI casts Bitterblossom.
Turn 8: Draw Blightning, attack for 3. AI makes a faerie, plays plains and attacks for 2. (15-6 life)
Turn 9: Draw Lightning Bolt. Cast bolt and blightning on AI for the win. 2-1

Sorry about the loss shantak, but I don't think I could've avoided it.

Stroggoii vs Shantak (done) | Open
Game 1: Playing first, keep Plains, 2x Scrubland, Path to Exile, Marsh Flats, Bloodghast, Ajani Goldmane.
Turn 1: Play/sac flats for Scrubland. AI plays swamp.
Turn 2: Draw Bitterblossom, play Scrubland and bitterblossom. AI plays Badlands and Ravenous Rats; I discard Bloodghast.
Turn 3: Make a faerie, play Scrubland. Grrr... no rules engine, so Bloodghast doesn't resurrect. AI plays Swamp and Hellfire Mongrel; I path to exile it EOT, giving AI a swamp.
Turn 4: Make a faerie, draw Elixir of Immortality, play Swamp, Ajani Goldmane, and use 2nd ability, then attack with a 2/2 faerie. AI casts Blazing Specter.
Turn 5: Make a faerie, draw Soul Warden, play plains and soul warden, cast Elixir of Immortality and use it, then pump with ajani and attack with 2 3/3 faeries. AI plays Bloodstained Mire, Duress on my empty hand, then Lightning Bolt on a 3/3 faerie, then sacs the mire for Badlands.
Turn 6: Make a faerie, draw/play Bitterblossom, use ajani's 2nd. Attack with a 4/4 and a 3/3 faerie for 7. AI casts Ravenous Rats; I have no hand.
Turn 7: Make 2 faeries, draw Path to Exile, cast on specter, spend ajani's last counter and attack with everything; AI chumps soul warden with a rat and takes 12. 1-0

Game 2: Drawing first, keep 2x Plains, Swamp, Bitterblossom, Path to Exile, Elixir of Immortality, Ajani Goldmane.
Turn 1: AI plays Mountain. Draw another elixir, play plains and elixir.
Turn 2: AI plays/sacs Bloodstained Mire for Badlands. Draw Path to Exile, play swamp and Bitterblossom.
Turn 3: AI plays Swamp and Blightning. Hmm.. I discard one path and the elixir. Make a faerie, draw Bitterblossom, play plains and bitterblossom.
Turn 4: AI casts Hellfire Mongrel; I Path to Exile it EOT. Make 2 faeries, draw/play Swamp, cast Ajani Goldmane, and use 2nd ability, then attack for 2.
Turn 5: AI casts Blazing Specter. Make 2 faeries, draw/play/sac Marsh Flats for Scrubland. Pump with ajani, use elixir, attack with 3 3/3s; AI takes 9.
Turn 6: AI plays Mountain and two Lightning Bolts to kill 2 of my 3/3 faeries. Make 2 faeries, draw Ajani Goldmane. Use ajani's 2nd to pump, attack with a 4/4 and 2 3/3s. The specter chumps the 4/4 and AI takes 6. (11-5 life)
Turn 7: AI bolts a 2/2 faerie. (not a 3/3 one? not like it matters anyway) Make 2 faeries, draw/play scrubland, pump with ajani (last counter), play a new ajani, pump with that, and attack for 20. 2-0

Aww1979 vs Stroggoii (done; game 2 very long) | Open
Game 1: Playing first, get 2x Soul Warden, 2x Plains, Ajani Goldmane, 2x Bitterblossom. Beautiful hand, but where's the black mana? (Have I ever mentioned on this forum how gay I think basic lands are??? /sarcasm) Keep the hand, of course.
Turn 1: Play Plains, Soul Warden. AI plays Marsh Flats, then EOT sacs for Scrubland and casts Path to Exile on Soul Warden. Thank you; I'll take a swamp.
Turn 2: Draw Vindicate, play Plains. I'm debating whether I should play warden/blossom, or Vindicate that land. Stroggoii has a very high land count at 17, so I'm not going to bother trying to manascrew it right now; I cast Soul Warden and Bitterblossom. AI plays Swamp and Vampire Hexmage.
Turn 3: Make a faerie, draw/play Soul Warden (!!) and cast Bitterblossom. AI plays Marsh Flats, attacks with the hexmage; I take the 2, and then sacs the flats for Swamp and casts Soul Warden.
Turn 4: Make 2 faeries (life 19-16, thanks to wardens on both sides) and draw Doom Blade. I swear I'm not cheating... Cast DOom Blade on Soul Warden, attack for 3. AI plays Elixir of Immortality, attacks for 2 with the hexmage (I take it) and uses the elixir. (17-18 life)
Turn 5: Make 2 faeries, draw Vindicate. AI missed a land drop last turn, and has only the scrubland for white, so being the jerk I am I cast one of my Vindicate on Scrubland, rather than the hexmage. Attack with everything for 5. AI casts another hexmage and attacks with the first; I take 2.
Turn 6: Make 2 faeries, draw/play Swamp, cast Ajani Goldmane, pump my army, attack with all my faeries (5 2/2s) for 10. (life 21-3) AI plays Bloodghast and attacks ajani with both hexmages. I block each hexmage with 2 2/2 faeries; the hexmages first strike, each killing a faerie, and the surviving faeries kill the hexmages.
Turn 7: Make 2 faeries, draw Worship. Pump with ajani, vindicate the bloodghast just for some good old 'win more' fun, and attack for 21. 1-0

Game 2: Drawing first, keep Scrubland, Vindicate, 2x Plains, Swamp, Hymn to Tourach, Oblivion Ring.
Turn 1: AI plays Scrubland, Soul Warden. Draw Plains, play Scrubland.
Turn 2: AI plays swamp, Bloodghast, and attacks for 1. Draw Soul Warden, play Swamp and Hymn to Tourach; AI discards Elixir of Immortality and Path to Exile.
Turn 3: AI plays Swamp, an elixir, attacks for 3, and uses the elixir. (11-23 life) Draw/play Scrubland, cast Oblivion Ring on Bloodghast.
Turn 4: AI attacks for 1 and casts Bitterblossom. Draw Bitterblossom, play Plains, Soul Warden, and Vindicate on bitterblossom.
Turn 5: AI passes. Draw Path to Exile, play Plains, Bitterblossom, cast path on soul warden (AI fetches plains) and attack with my soul warden for 1.
Turn 6: AI passes. Make a faerie, draw Doom Blade, play Plains, attack for 1.
Turn 7: AI plays Marsh Flats, Worship, and sacs flats for Scrubland. Make a faerie, draw/play Swamp, attack for 2.
Turn 8: AI casts Bitterblossom. Make a faerie, draw/play Plains, attack for 3.
Turn 9: AI makes a faerie, casts Path to Exile on one of my faeries (not soul warden???) and casts Ajani Goldmane and then pumps with 2nd ability. (life 11-15) Make a faerie, draw Hymn to Tourach. AI has one card in hand, but 5 mana in play, so can cast whatever it is; I play the Hymn; AI discards Worship. AIs faerie is 2/2 and mine are 1/1s so I pass.
Turn 10: AI makes a faerie, plays Elixir of Immortality, pumps with ajani, and uses the elixir. Make a faerie, draw/play swamp.
Turn 11: AI makes a faerie, pumps with ajani, and passes. Make a faerie, draw/play Plains (11 lands on turn 11... though one was from path I think) and pass.
Turn 12: AI makes a faerie, uses ajani's last counter to pump its army, then attacks with the 5/5 faerie. I have 5 1/1 faeries, but I decline to make the trade; if AI is scared to attack with the rest, I will not change his mind by trading with all of them. I take 5 (life 8-17) Draw Path to Exile and pass.
Turn 13: AI makes a faerie, I path the biggest faerie during his upkeep; AI fetches plains. AI casts Soul Warden; I cast Doom Blade on it EOT. Make a faerie, draw Oblivion Ring. Hmm... I use it on Bitterblossom and pass.
Turn 14: AI passes. Make a faerie, draw Vindicate, cast Vindicate on Worship.
Turn 15: AI plays Scrubland. Make a faerie, draw/play Scrubland.
Turn 16: AI plays/uses Elixir of Immortality. Draw Oblivion Ring, use on the 4/4 faerie.
Turn 17: AI casts Path to Exile on Soul Warden; I fetch swamp. (life 10-21) Make a faerie, draw/play/use Elixir of Immortality. (life 14-21)
Turn 18: AI passes. Make a faerie, draw/play Hymn to Tourach; AI discards Swamp and Worship.
Turn 19: AI passes. Make a faerie, draw/play swamp.
Turn 20: AI casts Vampire Hexmage. Make a faerie, draw/play/use Elixir of Immortality. (life 16-21)
Turn 21: AI attacks with Vampire Hexmage; I block with 3 faeries; 2 die and the survivor kills hexmage. Make a faerie, draw/play/use Elixir of Immortality. (20-21 life) That's a lot of elixirs I'm drawing lately, and I only have 1 in the deck, though the bug might've created more.
Turn 22: AI plays/uses Elixir of Immortality. Make a faerie, draw/play Vindicate on the AIs 3/3 faerie. It has a 2/2 and 1/1 faerie now, and I have enough that I can just start overrunning the AI. Attack with everything (13 1/1 faeries) AI blocks with his, killing 2 of mine, and taking 11 damage.
Turn 23: AI casts Path to Exile on one of my faeries; I fetch plains. As a matter of note, my library currently contains 1 ajani, 2 bitterblossom, 5 doomblades, 1 elixir, 5 hymns, 7 paths, 2 soul wardens, 5 vindicates, 2 worships. The plains I fetched just now was the last land in the deck. (I did warn about the elixir graveyard duplication bug...) AI attacks for 2 with its faerie. Make a faerie, draw doom blade, attack with everything for 11. (16-4 life)
Turn 24: AI paths a faerie (no land to fetch) and swings for 2. Make a faerie, draw doom blade, attack with everything for the win. 2-0

(the elixir bug helped both sides, the AI probably more actually, since it has 3 and I only have 1)

Turn 2: Draw Bitterblossom, play Plains and bitterblossom. AI plays Scrubland.
Turn 3: Make a faerie, draw Worship, play Plains and ajani, gain 2 life with it. (not gonna waste a counter pumping one faerie) AI plays Plains and Hymn to Tourach; I lose Worship and one Path to Exile; the other path is all I have left in hand.
Turn 4: Make a faerie, draw/play Vampire Hexmage, pump with ajani, attack for 2. AI plays Oblivion Ring on one of my faeries.
Turn 5: Make a faerie, draw/play swamp, pump with ajani, attack for 7. AI casts Oblivion Ring on the bigger faerie.

Turn 3: AI plays Swamp and Doom Blade on my Soul Warden, but doesn't attack. Draw Soul Warden. Cast Path to Exile on Soul Warden, attack with Bloodghast; AI trades with its remaining Soul Warden. Cast Soul Warden and Bloodghast. (life 17-21)

Turn 8: AI makes a faerie and plays swamp. Make a faerie, draw/play Vampire Hexmage, attack with everything. AI takes 3 and trades its faerie with one of mine.
Turn 9: AI makes a faerie and casts Oblivion Ring on one of my hexmages. Make a faerie, draw/play/use Elixir of Immortality, attack with everything. AI takes 3 and trades its faerie with one of mine. (life 16-9)
Turn 10: AI makes a faerie and passes. Make a faerie, draw/play/use an elixir, attack with everything. AI takes 3 and trades its faerie with one of mine.
Turn 11: AI makes a faerie and casts Oblivion Ring on Vampire Hexmage. Make a faerie, draw/play/use Elixir again, and attack with 2 faeries; AI blocks one to trade and takes the other. (life 24-3)

GROUP B:

Jatill vs Cognis (done) | Open
Game 1: Playing first, get dealt Rampaging Baloths, 2x Forest, Platinum Angel, Primeval Titan, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Acidic Slime. I'm a bit nervous about the low amount of land in hand, but the deck has extra lands to suppor the high mana curve in this deck, so I think I should be okay keeping it. I hope...
Turn 1: Play forest. AI plays Plains, Soul Warden.
Turn 2: Draw/play Forest, cast Sakura-Tribe Elder. AI plays Plains and two Akrasan Squire.
Turn 3: Draw/play Forest. AI plays Plains, casts Raise the Alarm, and attacks with the two Akrasan Squire. I block one with the elder and sac it for a forest, and take 1 from the other.
Turn 4: Draw Cultivate, play Forest, cast Acidic Slime, destroying Plains. AI plays Plains, Crystal Ball.
Turn 5: Draw/play Forest, cast Rampaging Baloths. AI plays Plains, Ajani Goldmane, and pumps its army.
Turn 6: Draw Acidic Slime, cast Primeval Titan, fetch 2 forests. Sadly, Rampaging Baloth only creates one 4/4 beast instead of 2. Attack with Acidic Slime; AI trades with Akrasan Squire. AI plays Plains, pumps with ajani, uses Crystal Ball.
Turn 7: Draw/play Forest, get a 4/4 beast. Cast Cultivate for forests, getting another 4/4. Cast Acidic Slime, destroying Crystal Ball. Attack with the 4/4 beast; AI blocks with 2 3/3 soldiers, losing one to trade. (don't want to attack with my titan yet) AI casts Akrasan Squire and pumps with Ajani. (life 12-32)
Turn 8: Draw/play forest, get a beast. Attack with acidic slime and both 4/4 beasts. AI blocks them all with soul warden, akrasan squire, and the soldier token, and all of it dies. Cast Platinum Angel. AI plays plains and uses Ajani's last counter to pump Akrasan Squire.
Turn 9: Draw/play Garruk Wildspeaker, play Forest (get 4/4 beast). Attack with everything, titan fetches 2 forests and I get 2 beasts. AI takes 20 damage. Untap 2 lands with garruk. AI passes.
Turn 10: Draw/play Ravenous Baloth. Garruk casts Overrun, and loses all his loyalty. Attack with everything; AI is at -37 :p 1-0

Game 2: Drawing first, keep 3x Forest, Sakura-Tribe Elder, 2x Primeval Titan, Ravenous Baloth.
Turn 1: AI plays Plains, Trusty Machete. Draw Garruk Wildspeaker, play Forest.
Turn 2: AI plays Plains, Raise the Alarm. Draw Eternal Witness, play Forest, Sakura-Tribe Elder.
Turn 3: AI plays Honor of the Pure and attacks with both soldiers. I block one with the elder and sac for forest, and take 2 from the other. Draw/ Rampaging Baloths, play Forest, Ravenous Baloth.
Turn 4: AI equips Trusty Machete to a soldier and attacks with it, a 4/3; I take the hit. (life 7-19) Draw Primeval Titan, cast Garruk Wildspeaker, use his -1 to make a beast. Attack with Ravenous Baloth for 4.
Turn 5: AI casts Akrasan Squire. Draw Sakura-Tribe Elder. Tap all 4 forests, untap 2 with garruk's 1st, and cast Rampaging Baloths. Attack with my 3/3 beast; AI blocks with 2/2 Akrasan Squire and a 2/2 soldier; I kill the 2/2 squire.
Turn 6: AI casts Elixir of Immortality and Soul Warden. Tap GGGG, untap GG with Garruk and cast another Rampaging Baloths.
Turn 7: AI casts Honor of the Pure. Draw Cultivate. Tap GGGG, untap GG with Garruk, cast Primeval Titan, fetch 2 forest, make 4 beasts with the two baloths.
Turn 8: AI casts Soul Warden. Draw/play Forest, making 2 beasts. Garruk Overruns, I attack with everything, getting 2 forests and 4 beasts. Despite chumping everything it can, AI drops from 34 to -15. 2-0

Man, jatill makes even sillier decks than I do.

Cognis vs Jatill (done; game 2 very long, Worship meets Platinum Angel) | Open
Game 1: Playing first, get Oblivion Ring, 5x Plains, Raise the Alarm. Rather heavy on the land, but whatever; I'll keep.
Turn 1: Play Plains. AI plays Forest.
Turn 2: Draw Honor of the Pure, play Plains, Raise the Alarm. AI plays Forest, Sakura-Tribe Elder.
Turn 3: Draw/play Plains, cast Honor of the Pure, attack for 4. AI plays Forest, attacks for 1, and Eternal Witness.
Turn 4: Draw Worship, play Plains, cast Oblivion Ring on Eternal Witness, attack for 4. AI plays Forest, Garruk Wildspeaker, makes a beast, and attacks for 1.
Turn 5: Draw/play Plains, cast Worship. AI casts Ravenous Baloth.
Turn 6: Draw/play Honor of the Pure, play Plains. AI makes a beast with Garruk and passes.
Turn 7: Draw/play Soul Warden, play Plains. AI plays Forest and passes.
Turn 8: Draw/play Akrasan Squire, attack with one soldier, who gets exalted and is now 4/4. AI blocks with 2 3/3 beasts and I kill one in trade. AI plays Forest and passes. (wtf is it holding?)
Turn 9: Draw/play/use Elixir of Immortality, attack with a soldier (4/4 with exalted) AI blocks with Sakura-Tribe Elder and a 3/3 beast, and all die. AI plays Forest.
Turn 10: Draw/play/use Elixir of Immortality, attack with Soul Warden (4/4 w/exalted) and AI blocks to trade with Ravenous Baloth. (28-5 life) AI passes.
Turn 11: Draw/play Plains, attack AI for 4. AI plays forest and passes. (not even making a beast with the last garruk counter)
Turn 12: Draw/play Plains, attack for the win. 1-0

Game 2: Drawing first, keep Crystal Ball, 4x Plains, Elixir of Immortality, Soul Warden.
Turn 1: AI plays Forest. Draw/play Plains, cast Soul Warden. Turn 2: AI plays Forest, Sakura-Tribe Elder. Draw/play Plains, cast Elixir of Immortality.
Turn 3: AI plays Forest and another Sakura-Tribe Elder. Draw Honor of the Pure, play Plains and cast Crystal Ball.
Turn 4: AI casts Eternal Witness. (no graveyard) Draw/play Plains, cast Honor of the Pure.
Turn 5: AI attacks with Eternal Witness; I take the 2, rather than trade with my Soul Warden. AI casts Cultivate for 2x Forest and plays the one from hand. EOT I use crystal ball and see Raise the Alarm and Honor of the Pure; I put RtA on top and HotP second. Draw Raise the Alarm, play Plains.
Turn 6: AI attacks with Eternal Witness; I cast Raise the Alarm and block with a soldier. AI casts Ravenous Baloth. EOT use Crystal Ball and put on top Honor of the Pure and then Soul Warden 2nd. Draw/play Honor of the Pure, play Plains and Worship.
Turn 7: AI casts Rampaging Baloths, then sacs both Sakura-Tribe Elder for 2x Forest (and 2x 4/4 beast). Draw/play Soul Warden.
Turn 8: AI casts Platinum Angel. Use Crystal Ball EOT, put 2x Plains on bottom. Use Crystal Ball during upkeep, put Plains and Elixir of Immortality on bottom. Draw/play Akrasan Squire.
Turn 9: AI casts Primeval Titan, fetching 2 forest and making only 1 4/4 beast. (same problem I had last game) AI then passes, not attacking with its angel. Use Crystal Ball during my upkeep and put Plains and Trusty Machete on bottom, draw Sun Titan. Use Elixir of Immortality. (life 39-13)
Turn 10: AI attacks with EVERYTHING (Ravenous Baloth, Rampaging Baloths, Platinum Angel, Primeval Titan, and 3x 4/4 beasts) and fetches 2x forest and makes 2 more 4/4 beasts. I have Worship out so I don't really care. Block Ravenous Baloth with my 3/3 soldier and Akrasan Squire; baloth dies, as does my soldier, and I take 28 damage. AI then casts Acidic Slime (destroying... Honor of the Pure! Worship laughs) and Cultivate, making another beast. Draw Trusty Machete, cast Sun Titan, and return Honor of the Pure to play.
Turn 11: AI attacks with everything. (Acidic Slime, Rampaging Baloths, Platinum Angel, Primeval Titan, 6 4/4 beasts) Sun Titan blocks and kills Rampaging Baloths, Akrasan Squire trades witih Acidic Slime, and the rest hits me... hard, but I have Worship, so I remain at 1 life. Draw/cast Elixir of Immortality, cast Trusty Machete and equip to Sun Titan. Attack with Sun Titan and both Soul Warden. The beast chumps the titan and AI takes 6 from the wardens; titan resurrects Akrasan Squire. Use Crystal Ball, put another ball on bottom and Raise the Alarm on top.
Turn 12: AI attacks with everything. Sun Titan kills Primeval Titan, and Platinum Angel and 6x Beasts send me back down to 1 life. AI casts Ravenous Baloth. Draw/play Raise the Alarm, attack with Sun Titan and both wardens; AI chumps the titan with ravenous baloth and sacs the baloth, then takes 6 from the wardens. (AI has Platinum Angel, so attacking with more was silly) Use Crystal Ball and put Akrasan Squire and Soul Warden on the bottom; I need removal now.
Turn 13: AI casts Rampaging Baloths and attacks with everything. Sun Titan kills a beast, 2 3/3 soldiers block another beast; I lose one, and I drop back down to 1 life from the rest. Draw/play Plains (bah, forgot to use the ball) and attack with Sun Titan; Rampaging Baloths chump it. Use Crystal Ball and put 2x Plains on bottom.
Turn 14: AI attacks uselessly with Platinum Angel, then casts Eternal Witness. I'm not sure what it brought back. Use Crystal Ball during upkeep, put Plains and Raise the Alarm on bottom. Draw/play Akrasan Squire.
Turn 15: AI casts Rampaging Baloths and Primeval Titan, but must be out of lands, as it didn't fetch any. AI then attacks with everything. (I'm rather glad it didn't regrowth Acidic Slime with Eternal Witness and destroy Worship :p) Sun Titan kills a beast, a squire kills the witness, and a soldier/squire team block another beast, killing my squire; the rest sends me back to 1 life. Use ball during upkeep, put Raise the Alarm and Ajani Goldmane on bottom, draw/play Honor of the Pure. Where are those darn Oblivion Rings?
Turn 16: AI casts Garruk, makes a beast, and attacks with the Angel. Use ball during upkeep and see Oblivion Ring and Worship. O-Ring 1, Worship 2 on top. Draw Oblivion Ring, cast on Platinum Angel. Attack with everything, resurrecting Akrasan Squire with the titan. AI blocks Akrasan Squire and Soldier with the 2 4/4 beasts, chumps titan with the 3/3 beast, and kills my soul wardens withi Rampaging Baloths and Primeval Titan. Equip my machete to the squire postcombat.
Turn 17: AI makes a beast with garruk and casts Acidic Slime, destroying Trusty Machete. Draw/play Worship, use Crystal Ball, put plains on bottom and Oblivion Ring on top.
Turn 18: AI casts Primeval Titan and attacks with everything. Sun Titan blocks and kills Rampaging Baloths, Akrasan Squire blocks 3/3 beast, and the rest bring me back to 1 life. Draw/play Oblivion Ring on the (untapped) Primeval Titan, attack with Sun Titan and Akrasan Squire (resurrecting soul warden) and FINALLY killing the AI. 2-0

Jatill vs 240sxforever (done) | Open
Game 1: Playing first, keep 4x Forest, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Cultivate, Ravenous Baloth.
Turn 1: Play forest. AI plays Savannah, Soul Warden.
Turn 2: Draw Cultivate, play Forest, Sakura-Tribe Elder. AI plays plains, Honor of the Pure, and attacks; I block and sac the Sakura-Tribe Elder for a forest.
Turn 3: Draw/play forest, cast Ravenous Baloth. AI plays forest and casts Oblivion Ring. My only nonland permanent is the baloth, so I sac it in response :p Unfortunately, the AI doesn't pick any target at all for the ring (it should have had to pick either the warden or honor of the pure) and just attacks me for 2.
Turn 4: Draw Acidic Slime, play Forest and Acidic Slime, but the game crashes when I do this, so I have to restart.

Game 1b: Playing first, keep Acidic Slime, Ravenous Baloth, 3x Forest, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Eternal Witness.
Turn 1: Play forest. AI plays plains.
Turn 2: Draw Rampaging Baloths, play forest, Sakura-Tribe Elder. AI casts Path to Exile on it EOT; I sac it in response, so that it goes to graveyard instead (for the same effect) and Eternal Witness can get it back later. AI plays plains and passes.
Turn 3: Draw Sakura-Tribe Elder, play forest and Ravenous Baloth. AI plays Savannah.
Turn 4: Draw/play Forest; nice timing. Play Acidic Slime, destroying Savannah, and attack for 4. AI plays Forest, Honor of the Pure, and Soul Warden, meaning that one of those two cards it was sitting on for no good reason.
Turn 5: Draw/play Ravenous Baloth, attack with other baloth and slime; AI trades soul warden with slime and takes 4. (should've attacked and then played baloth; I just gave the AI an extra turn, as life totals are 13-9 and I have 2 4/4s) AI plays Terramorphic Expanse, Watchwolf, and sacs TE for plains.
Turn 6: Draw Platinum Angel, attack with both baloths. AI trades the 4/4 watchwolf (HotP) with one and takes 4 from the other. Cast Sakura-Tribe Elder and Eternal Witness (regrowthing Acidic Slime) AI casts Loxodon Hierarch. EOT sac the elder for forest.
Turn 7: Draw Platinum Angel, cast Acidic Slime, destroying Honor of the Pure, attack with baloth; AI trades with the hierarch. AI casts Path to Exile on Acidic Slime and I get a forest. AI then paths the Eternal Witness and I get another forest.
Turn 8: Draw Primeval Titan. Cast Rampaging Baloths. AI passes.
Turn 9: Draw Garruk, cast him. Use his first ability snd untap 2 lands, then cast Primeval Titan. Fetch 2 forests, but only get one beast. (I think I found the issue, it's the comes into play trigger that doesn't interact right; the attack one is fine) Attack with baloths for 6. AI passes.
Turn 10: Draw Sakura-Tribe Elder, attack for 16 for the win. (garruk could've added another 9, but it doesn't matter) 1-0

Game 2: Drawing first, keep Eternal Witness, Garruk Wildspeaker, Cultivate, 4x Forest.
Turn 1: AI plays Savannah. Draw Primeval Titan, play forest.
Turn 2: AI plays Plains, Watchwolf. Draw Cultivate, play forest.
Turn 3: AI plays Terramorphic Expanse, attacks for 3, sacs TE for plains, and casts Watchwolf. I think I'm doomed. Draw/play Forest. I can cast Cultivate or Eternal Witness, neither of which is particularly scary to the watchwolves. I have 10 life. I think I have to go with the witness; if AI gets another creature or Honor of the Pure next turn, I'll need the blocker right away. Cast Eternal Witness with no regrowth target.
Turn 4: AI plays Windswept Heath, Oblivion Ring on Eternal Witness, and attacks for 6, then sacs WH for Savannah. Draw Acidic Slime, play Forest. Only way to survive is to play Garruk and make a beast so that's what I do. AI casts Path to Exile on the beast EOT; I get a forest as my consolation prize.
Turn 5: AI plays Plains and attacks me for 6; I'm dead. 1-1
(Cultivate on turn 3 instead would've made no difference to the result, and other than the decision to keep the hand, no other choices were possible)

Game 3: Playing first, keep 2x Forest, Cultivate, Acidic Slime, Sakura-Tribe Elder, 2x Rampaging Baloths.
Turn 1: Play forest. AI plays Plains, Soul Warden.
Turn 2: Draw Sakura-Tribe Elder, play forest and elder. AI plays Windswept Heath and Path to Exile on the elder, which I sac in response for forest. AI attacks for 1 and sacs WH for Savannah.
Turn 3: Draw Primeval Titan, cast Cultivate for forests, play Forest. AI plays Terramorphic Expanse, attacks for 1, and sacs TE for plains.
Turn 4: Draw/play forest, cast Rampaging Baloths; AI paths it EOT; I get forest. AI attacks for 1 and casts Watchwolf.
Turn 5: Draw/play forest, cast Rampaging Baloths and Sakura-Tribe Elder. AI plays Terramorphic Expanse, casts Glorious Anthem, and sacs TE for forest. EOT I sac STE for forest, making a 4/4 beast.
Turn 6: Draw/play forest, get a beast, cast Acidic Slime, destroying Glorious Anthem. Attack with baloths and beast; AI blocks beast with Soul Warden and Watchwolf; it all dies, and baloths hit for 6. AI plays Savannah and Loxodon Hierarch (life 10-21)
Turn 7: Draw/play Forest (get beast) cast Primeval Titan (get 2 forests but only 1 beast) and attack with everything. Slime trade with hierarch and AI takes 10. AI casts Loxodon Hierarch.
Turn 8: Draw/play Garruk, attack with everything and win. 2-1

I was afraid something just like game 2 would happen when I saw jatill's decklist. The deck is very nice when it works, but with no removal and few early plays, it really gets screwed against a fast AI start, and 13 life doesn't help in that situation, either. Were I playing such a deck, I'd probably have squeezed in some dual lands and splashed for Path to Exile or something like that, and tried to get a lot more starting life; a slower deck gets hurt bad by that.

Turn 1: Play Terramorphic Expanse, sac for plains. AI plays forest.
Turn 2: Draw Glorious Anthem. Play/sac Windswept Heath for Savannah, cast Honor of the Pure. AI plays Forest, Sakura-Tribe Elder.
Turn 3: Draw Forest, play/sac Windswept Heath for Savannah, cast Glorious Anthem. AI plays Forest, attacks for 1, and casts Eternal Witness. (no regrowth targets)

Turn 5: Draw/play Plains, cast Loxodon Hierarch. AI plays forest and Eternal Witness. (still no regrowth target)
Turn 6: Draw Loxodon Hierarch, play forest and hierarch. AI plays Forest,
