"Pinning" randomly assigned port numbers?
by atomicinf » 16 Oct 2013, 02:46
I'm trying to set up a MAGE instance on a server I own. Other services share this server, and so I use IPTables as a local firewall to filter traffic.
The main difficulty with getting this setup working properly is that MAGE (probably because of one of its JBoss components) is trying to open connections on ports other than 17171 and failing because of firewall restrictions. The ports are different each time the MAGE instance is started, so it becomes very difficult to allow the necessary traffic through IPTables.
Can we have a config value to 'pin' these port numbers to specific values, so that a firewall rule can allow the necessary data through?
