Blank Client Ubtuntu Linux 18

I have java 8 (oracle)
acer cloudbook with ubuntu linux os (18.04)
I cannot download java from the launcher so I had to manually download from oracle and extract files contents into xmage java folder.
When I attempt to launch client, I get a blank black screen and program doesn't start.
Any suggestions?
