This problem reappeared for server version 1.4.2v4a3. I'm using client 1.4.2v3 that is the most recent version that the client detects.jajaramillog wrote:Breaking//Entering is not working. Whenever a player draws it, the game stops working. Also, if the card is in any library and a player tries to search that library, the game stops working.
LevelX: I guess it was caused by a difference between server and client version. Check if the problem is solved with the new client version 1.4.2v3.
LevelX: I can reproduce this with client 1.4.2v3. But it's fixed with 1.4.2v4 client with the upcoming version.

Ugin, the Spirit Dragon's minus ability didn't destoy Nissa, Sage Animist's green token.
LevelX: I can't reproduce this. What was the value of X? Can you provide the game log?

My brother was having issues today with fetchlands where the client was not letting him search for lands
LevelX: Does he really use 1.4.2v3 client version?

Heartstone is not reducing the cost of Sigil Tracer 's activated ability
edit / update: Heartstone is having trouble lowering all costs that include hard colored costs to 0 colorless as Heartstone is not reducing the cost of Deadeye Navigator 's soul-bonded flicker as well and it seems to be the exact same problem on any activation
LevelX: Fixed beyond 1.4.2v4a3

Yixlid Jailer currently doesn't prevent Emrakul, the Aeons Torn to trigger from the graveyard after being put into the graveyard from the library. It should.
https://github.com/magefree/mage/issues/1147
LevelX: A more complex problem of removing abilities of cards. If an ability triggers when the object that has it is put into a graveyard from anywhere other than the battlefield, that ability triggers from the graveyard, (such as Krosan Tusker, Narcomoeba, or Quagnoth, for example). Yixlid Jailer will prevent those abilities from triggering at all.

The Abyss lets the controller of the enchantment chose opponents creatures to destroy.
the active player should chose one of his/her creatures. the abyss effect still targets and still destroys, so indestructable and hexproof/shroud creatures cannot be chosen.

This doesn't seem to be a bug when I launch xmage normally, but when I launch the client from an IDE, I get a NullPointerException when trying to download card images.
Stacktrace:
LevelX: Maybe the card DB of the client is still empty?
on closer examination, there is an error log posted in the cards.h2.trace.db file, see attached
LevelX: The client DB is included in the releases because it's moved in the db folder. In IDE (if client DB does not already exist) you have to connect once to the server to get the current server DB copied. And if the server DB is not created correctly you get the problem of the missing DB on client.
Anyway it would make sense to check this on client startup and handle the null pointer exceptions.

Exact same issue here. I made a post about it. Ridiculously frustrating.ianman222001 wrote:Hi All, I have been having issues since updating. All of my images are gone and when I try to download them my computer zooms through the download until it his 21038 of 21039 images then stops and asks me to choose another source, none of the images it says it was downloading actually show up. im wondering if I need to completely uninstall xmage and reinstall it? not sure how to go about this, not very computer savvy sorry!
LevelX: You can set the folder the images are saved in xmage->Preferences->Images->Use default location to save images. I would deactivate this and set a new folder (outside th xmage folder). Then restart xmage and try to download images (e.g. starting with only downloading images for Standard to check if it works). If this works you can start to download all images.
I see two possible things here making trouble.
1) The zip files of the images are corrupted and xmage can no longer save the images to this files.
2) The access to the images sources are blocked by a firewall or anti virus application.
What's written to the client log as you try to download the images?

LevelX, thanks for quick response.
Here's the log of my most recent install. This was after I went through my registry and searched for "xmage" and removed all instances of it - as well as all downloaded files in my downloads folder.
So fresh install (hopefully) and results included in attached text log.
That last line of text, seems to be the offending error:
"WARNING: Could not open/create prefs root node Software\JavaSoft\Prefs at root 0x80000002. Windows RegCreateKeyEx(...) returned error code 5."
Earlier tonight when I was installing the program to a thumb drive (before I realized files were being split between thumb drive and C drive) - I had images working. When I attempted to relocate them, that seemed to be my undoing.
I see the images now where the default folder suggests they should be: C:\Users\(my username)\Downloads\xmage\mage-client\plugins\images
And the client still shows default which would seem to point there. And the symbols load.
Edit - tried the suggestion. Changed location to folder on desktop. Exited client. Went back in, redownloaded everything. Double checked folder in preferences. Saved. Exited. Reloaded client, went to Deck Editor. Symbols there, no card art.
An interesting note. Each time I load the client it prompts me that new images are available. Yet my home PC (which has the card art loaded properly) never gives me this prompt.
Could that be related to this and perhaps also related to the Warning error I pasted above?
Edit 2.0 - leaving work now. Return at 11pm EST. Will be able to test further then.
LevelX: Looks like it's a problem with missing authorities to registry. So probably no settings are saved to the registry. So if you restart xmage all previously settings are rest to default I suppose.
Can you test if XMage works, if you execute it with the admin profile?
At least the XMage process needs read/write rights to the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs" key in the windows registry to save and change it's settings.
You can start the "regedit.exe" program navigate to the node and check (right mouse button menu on the node) with item "Authorities" (or similar) which authority users to this node have.
If the node is missing, it can help to create the node (probabaly java was not able to create the node before, because the authorities were already missing during install of java). You have to give the user that will execute XMage the authority to create and change the content of this node.

Computer player was able to entwine Grab the Reins to take my 9/9 Slippery Boggle and fling it in my face.
Boggle has Hexproof so you should not be able to do this. This also works with other creatures with hexproof.
