I get this Error when i try to start a game. I cant see what is played on the field and the players. But i can see my hand if i dont have to choose the starting player which i cant.
and i cant post link to image since i am a new user but it only says "Error: null" when i start a match

Which client version do you use from http://XMage.info?
Otherwise it's possible that the public server is in unhealthy state. Do you know if the XMage public server work for other users correctly?

Check what is written to .../Mage-Client/mageclient.log file.
There should be an error message about the reason.
