Trouble starting the client

Postby Swarlol » 30 Dec 2014, 19:56

I get a bunch of java errors upon attempting to launch it I have no idea what any of them mean so I'm just going to past them here.

This is a lot of stuff I think I messed up on installing?

Here a user talked about some similar problems.

Did you use the Launcher to install and start XMage?

Which OS and version do you use?
Which Java version is installed?

I suppose it's a problem with missing authorities to registry.

Can you test if XMage works, if you execute it with the admin profile?

At least XMage needs full rights to the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs" key in the windows registry to save and change it's settings.

You can start the "regedit.exe" program navigate to the node and check (right mouse button menu on the node) with item "Authorities" (or similar) which authority users to this node have.
If the node is missing, it can help to create the node (probabaly java was not able to create the node before, because the authorities were already missing during install of java). You have to give the user that will execute XMage the authority to create and change the content of this node.

Please report if this helps or what you have/or have not in registry.

I understand some of those words.

Alright now the client loads with no errors but it is just a black box.
