I take it you have XMage set to connect to your server of choice on launch (Woogerworks, perhaps?), and that message is showing when it tries to connect to it, not when the program itself starts?

If that's the case you need to wait for the server you're trying to join to be restarted and updated. If memory serves me right, in the case of Woogerworks that should happen sometime tomorrow. I could be wrong, though.

Either keep trying every now and then, join a different server (xmage.de is always the first to be updated when there's a new version), or downgrade your XMage until the server is updated too.

It says right here in the release post:

LevelX wrote:If you updated to a new version and want to revert back to the previous version you can set your xmage home (use custom) to e.g. "http://xmage.de/xmage1.4.14v0" (or similar URLs related to the release number) in the settings of the launcher and restart. (Don't forget to set it back to "http://xmage.de/xmage" if you want again update to the newest version later.)

I was about to ask what URL had you actually used and what was the exact message you were getting now, but it looks like you made an entirely different problem of its own now: viewtopic.php?f=70&t=19107

So never mind...
