XMage is probably disconecting my internet

happens always when i'm playing xmage, only this program make my internet fall, is getting heavier and slower every day with more players joining.. i lose my internet connection out of nothing, but only playing xmage.. if i dont use it, i keep connected normally.. is it possible? does someone have an explanation to this problem?
