My Friend is having an issue with trying to install Xmage

I tried to get my friend to install Xmage onto a laptop running windows 10 and despite having an up to date java, the launcher never works, tried reinstalling java, still nothing, can anyone give a description of what could be going on or giving a description of the issue if someone else has experienced it, and any ways to get around it,,,,in an extremely dumbed down way of course, like steps 1,2,3,,,ect. in order to fix the issue

Solution:

Well, if you install java, then - open xmage game folder (you can found XMageLauncher-0.3.8.jarin it); - add new text file and rename it to run.cmd - right click on it and select edit - in text editor insert that text and save file: javaw.exe -jar XMageLauncher-0.3.8.jar

Now you can run launcher with that run.cmd file. If it do not run, then you can edit run.cmd and add full path to your java folder. Example: - "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_151\bin\javaw.exe" -jar XMageLauncher-0.3.8.jar
