Update/Java Not Found
Posted: 18 Jul 2018, 17:47
Hello,
I'm a long-time XMage user. I've gotten used to it's quirks and such but this latest problem has me stumped and I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I've been working on this for a day or two and after trying everything I know... here I am.
Problem: Cannot launch client due to a "Java not found" error showing in the launcher status field.
I have yet to have this particular problem with XMage. From what I can gather, the link that the launcher is trying to download the latest Java version from is no good. Copying/pasting the java download link from the error log or launcher window takes you to the oracle page but it gives a 404 error.
I've tried poking around in some of the XMage files myself to find the correct place to paste an appropriate link for the version of Java XMage wants but I just can't find it/get there.
I see one other person on this board has the same problem as me but looking on different forums I don't see anyone else having this issue.
Am I correct that this is a bad download link in the launcher? I've uninstalled XMage and Java multiple times, in different orders, restarted, etc. and am getting the same results.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, really want to playtest some new Standard ideas. I can post images of the error and am willing to try suggestions.
Thanks in advance,
phoyce
