is there a reason we can't use a smarter draftbot?

many times a draft will be ruined by one player dropping and a human player gets hooked up. the draftbot takes the worst card giving the next few players an awesome deck.
I would way rather prefer if the draftbot just tried to take good cards. maybe it should try to match the colour or something. I saw that this code exists in the codebase, is there a philosophical reason we aren't using it?
edit: ok I did a bit of research and it does a pretty good job of finding common removal to take. aside from that it pretty much just takes vanilla creatures.
