Hi,
there is probably bug concerning Karn, the great creator. Its ability to block artifacts activation deny also attacking of artifact creatures (played against AI, tried to attack with Hangarback walker when AI had Karn on the battlefield). Attacking is not an activated ability, so it should be possible.
