Collectible Card Game Headquarters

So I've tried everything I can research or think of and can't think of anything new to try. when I try opening XMage (and I've tried opening it with a lot of different things) nothing happens or it attempts to do something and then fails. I did notice that my friend's file says executable in front of jar file. I'm lost please help, bellow is a list of things I've tried. If I'm doing something wrong let me know.

I've tried deleting and redownloading both java and XMage many times.

I've tried opening each file to find the launch file.

I've tried changing what it opens with.

I've watched and followed several videos even shared my screen with two friends while they walked me through it and let them try several different methods.

And I've tried the run.cmd thing I seen on here and made sure everything is up to date.

1. Create new folder like D:\games\xmage\
2. Download jar file from http://xmage.de and COPY that file to game folder (do not unpack -- just copy that jar file to folder).
3. Download zip file from http://xmage.today/X/run.zip and UNZIP that file to game folder.
4. After that you must have two files in game folder: launcher.jar and run.cmd
5. Execute run.cmd file.
