Sonic, isn't the intro.avi file already included in ISO? Why do you need to download it again?

It doesn't need to be downloaded again, that's just where it's stored. I'll move it and rename the folder to reflect "updates only" only status.

Actually Huggy, thinking about it. It might be better to leave the ISO and all the files associated with it in that folder, and just move the intro.avi to a separate folder for storage.

That way, we could provide a single link to the folder on the first page of the thread for people to download all the files they need in one go.
And as we always date the updates - when people who have already downloaded the game visited the folder again it would be fairly obvious when a new update had been added.

You could also include a 'read me first' text file in the folder explaining about not installing other files from any other links in the Manalink 2.0 forum as well.

Right now, the only files in the ISO folder are the pics update and the multiplayer files. I moved the intro into the Shandalar folder where every other file is. The readme is a good idea.

The ISO is only available via torrent or hip's link, though I may upload it at some point. The torrent is so well seeded right now that there's no reason not to use it, but I guess there are some people who don't use torrents yet.

Sorry, my fault. I should have said put the torrent file in the folder - not the ISO.

Hey! New here, just starting messing around with (and messing up, because apparently I can't read -_-) the CD version. I just have a quick question.

If the only compatible update for the CD version is that cardart file, does that mean there's no way to get the cards that aren't already there? I'm very confused and I really want to make Dragonstorm and Necropotence decks T_T

You can update the ISO, but you'll break Shandalar, and that's the main reason for having the ISO in the first place. If you want to try all the new updates, it's easier to use the smaller Mok's Manalink version. Please go to the "new users" start here post in the Manalink forum. I know you're anxious to get started, but you haven't read all the notes we've posted and we've answered your questions a million times.

I don't know if anxious is the right word. I've been reading through all of the material I can find on here, but it's been in broken bits and pieces because I have to fit it into my work schedule, and it's much harder to follow so much technical stuff that way. It's also easier to be careless; I found the ISO right before going to work, set it to download while I was at work, and didn't have a chance to read the important stuff in the middle, like to not update it -_- And the rest I simply couldn't follow fast enough, like the recent revelation that since the only update is art, I probably can't get the cards I'm missing <.< But I do apologise if I've asked a common question.

I do have to say though, that the reason it's commonly asked is probably because it isn't spelled out clearly in the wiki, which is probably where most newcomers end up. There's the manalink downloads, which are simply given with instructions to extract, and a vague mention of these updates messing with Shandalar in the ISO version. If this question has been answered in "help me" threads, it probably won't be read, which is why more threads for it get made. I would suggest adding it to the FAQ section or making the wiki a bit clearer.

Sorry I'm so wordy =/ I'm just trying to be helpful. At 2 in the morning @_@

Edit: And apparently I just took two damage. Dammit.

Your advice to edit the wiki is good, I hope someone is reading (hint). BTW, anyone is welcome to edit the wiki, so if you want to feel free.

Well, the Shandalar section of the wiki would have to be completely remade (since there is only a small section about coding in).

And also in there we would have 3 potentials working version for Shandalar(not including the old addon and some 1.+ unofficial patches): Original CD, Mok 2.0 and ISO version which would bring more explanations...

seems there is a problem with the multiplayer on the 2010 iso version of the game on some computers. Has anyone identified the source of these e009 errors? The first laptop I tried this on seems to create a host session fine but My other laptop gives me the e009 error even after uninstalling everything and starting from scratch several times. My computer at my office also gives me the same e009 error. And yes I have used the multiplayer fix. Why does it work only on certain computers? All my computers are running exact same xp pro service pack 3! Is it hardware related??? Network cards???? also I tried installing the underdogs version of the game on my e009 error laptop. I think it has mana link version 1.3.2 or something of the sort. I did not try to play a match but it connect with my laptop that was running the iso version of the game with mana link 2.1. but then when I uninstalled it and put the iso version back on it, it gave me the e009 error again. Grrrr. anyone got any ideals.

Well I got it to work. I think my problem was that when I did the multiplayer fix program, I ran the files from inside winrar instead of extracting them first. I did not think anything of it at the time because It said the registry entries were created successfully but I don't think it really worked correctly. After I did it the correct way it all worked and I have working multiplayer! :)
