Guys you rock for bringing this to life once again!

This was my first contact with MTG environment back in 1996 or 1997. It was love at the first sight:)

The problem is that the game has a stopping bug: in dungeons and castles it sometimes stops responding. I had it once or twice happening in regular games outside dungeons, when the game is really long. As a former game tester I know this is the worse kind of bugs: hard to reproduce and with no way of forcing the reproduction. Par example you can clear a dungeon without the bug showing up, I even cleared everything and started the Azarkon fight. But I haven't been able to kill Azarkon due to it.

The bug occurred back then in 1996-7 when I was playing it and it is happening with the new installer.

I would like to know if any one had this bug, if there is a work around. I need to mention that atm I am using the ISO installer as provided without any update whatsoever, I am only interested in finish the Shandalar by BEATING Azarkon.

Thanks for the kind words.

1) We haven't altered Shandalar at all, so it's not surprising you have the same bug as you did before.
2) You really should apply the latest update, it can only help, and has been reported to fix some crashes.
3) And, as you already know, save early and often.

That's all I can tell you.

Saving often is a habit that I come to have from my early days of gaming, especially from playing UFO Enemy Unknown.

But unfortunately saving won't help in this case. I will apply the update though I don't have any hopes.

BTW have you managed to finish Shandalar? Beating Azarkon?

I've never beat the game. Bog Wraith has countless times, and others here have also, so maybe one of them will chime in.

I've beaten Azarkon before when this game first came out. That was a looooong time ago. I don't even remember how I beat him. Gaining life totals as you go along the game helps, especially since you face Azarkon with him at 100 life (or is it 200?).

Saving is also a must for Shandalar.

I think I'm gonna give it another go. :)

Good for you!

In reference to Arzakon, I believe he has 100 life per difficulty level (so 400 if you play the game as you should :) ). I recommend an extremely degenerate deck featuring many copies of Contract from Below and Timetwister (you can use as many as you have in a >= 60-card deck with the Tome of Enlightenment) for him.

Just now I lost a game solely because Forge has taught me to block by clicking an attacker then its blockers, whereas in Shandalar you select a blocker then its attacker.

Hi guys, i've gotten past the install and play part but i'm having a hard time with a few things. It automatically opens up to full screen and game is kind of slow. How do I get it to open up in a better resolution and with better game play?

4GB memory
1gb 9500 GT nvidia

I know it's not my hardware, any help is thankful!

Please read 1st post again.
It runs in a screen resolution of 1024 x 768.
It is the only resolution available.

Again, I don't get the choice of which resolution it runs in, it automatically opens up in full screen mode. I've read the 1st post.

Of course you don't get a choice. The game runs ONLY in full screen, and ONLY at 1024x768, and there is NO WAY to change it.

@phyregold: If you really need to run the game "windowed", the only way to get game run "in window" is to run it in virtual machine window (example: XP mode in Windows 7). But in such case your original screen resolution must be greater than 1024 x 768 and inside window resolution still must be 1024 x 768.

Hi,

I have Windows 7 and "Microprose Magic the Gathering 2010 ISO" installed.

1 - Fetch lands doesn't work for me. I click on them, my mouse shows that the pc is working on something, but the game was locked.

2 - Cards like draft, avatars and planeswalkers and cards with no images (force of will, quirion ranger, etc) doesn't work too. Here one of these two errors occur: On the first the deck doesn't load. The second when it loads, the cards don't.

The bugs occour with or without the CardArtNew update (CCGHQ CardArtNew 061110.zip (66.89 MB)).

Tx.
