Shandalar: another complete remake of enemies decks

Postby podbelski » 10 May 2013, 10:47

Hey everyone,

if you play Shandalar, but have a feeling many of those wondering enemies' decks are bad, like not themed enough, or variety of used cards is too limited, or they are annoying to battle against, here is the salvation: the result of 3 months of building and testing, a nice deckpack from myself. It is designed to substitute original Shandalar decks (Manalink versions 1.32 or 2.0).

The thread with detailed info and download links is here

I was just going to ask about this. The overhauled decks are a huge step up, but the computer plays some cards extremely badly. Will check these out! :)

"but the computer plays some cards extremely badly"

yep. B/c of this I had to stay away from some obvious cards/combos perfectly fitting a particular deck, but misplayed by the AI. In addition, a few cards are completely ignored by AI, it simply won't ever use them...

hope you enjoy the deckpack anyway, at least from time to time I restart the game myself, every time having a nice game with interesting battles :)

I am currently playing a Shandalar game with this remake, and I like it quite a bit. Nice job, podbelski.

enjoy)

fwiw, I'm currently revising the decks once again by using them as my playdeck in Shandalar (via deck injector). Some minor adjustments will be available in the next version which I'm unsure how soon is out... at least one significant overhaul will also be available - the Seer deck, added few cards to it that were not used so far anywhere (Coral Helm, Staff of Zegon, Sindbad, Wall of Wonder), and removed some.

Holy crap, that Astral Visionary was damn tough for me to beat! Finally did it on my 4th try.
It was Stasis + Black Vises + Howling Mine that did me in. And Instill Energy works really well with that Leviathan she starts with. My Spinal Villain fixed that beast on two of my duels, though.

I think she cheated a bit - I saw two Mox Sapphires out...

Only the black castle is still standing now.

finally I've revisited all the decks, and slightly updated a few of them. The last version is 1.3 atm, and I don't think there will be more updates.

You can download the update via the link in the first post, enjoy.
