After reading that other folks are not having the same issue I have had, I downloaded the update again to make sure there wasn't a problem with that file that might have been corrupted from my first install.

It still creates the same problem for me. No change. When I revert to my saved version 1 files for Abandoned Shrine everything returns to normal & everything works as it should.

Just for a heads up, I'm running this on a Mac using Parallels & running Windows 7. This is what I always do & have had no issues whatsoever running this & ManaLink for many years, so I have no idea why this is happening to seemingly me and no one else. :?

Just looking to confirm that everything seems to be working fine. I just applied the AS patches again. I have 0 idea what went wrong.

If it was a blunder on my part, I appologize because the instructions were very clear, the instalation itself is the cleanest it's been for as far as I remember and there just isn't that many steps to mess up. What's more...

| Open
I actualy did the whole "making Shandalar into a Forge set" things which includes:

-Downloading and installing the latest forge
-Creating a new set list in the proper place in the rather branchy Forge folder
- Manipulate the shandalar card list using excell in several ways to make it usable for both tracking down mismatches and creating a new set list
- Tracking down naming mismatches between the shandalar cardlist and the overall forge cardlist, and renaming them all
- Tracking down all the cards not implemented in Forge
- Unpacing the forge card files and creating new ones for the missing non-astral cards (which involves pasting links and making various edits and sticking them into proper folders)
- Doing the same for the Astral Cards, except with no Oracle
- Repacking this, bugfixing a few errors

And it takes a few hours.

And all that went without a hitch, but it's perfectly possible I somehow messed up following a rater simple "download several zip files, stick them one on top of another in the same folder, reboot, gg" sequence. :(

QUICK QUESTION: What is the in-duel console hotkey? One which lets me see the opponent's hand?

F12 to turn on debug mode, then F8 to show the AI's hand. It needs [Duel]EnableDebugMode turned on in Shandalar.ini as well - that's probably what's tripping you up, if you didn't save your old config.

Rawky> In fact, I also noticed that the icons used are alternative colors of themselves in order maybe to save time/resources (like flash and haste which share the same icon), so you have also to make minor modifications to others existing ones in order to keep the same design...it's quite hard because icons need also to be in "low res", so pixel artist ability is definitely required.

Bog Wraith, I had the exact same problem you are having. I winded up doing a clean install from scratch - New Manalink install, update to BFZv2 patch, install artwork and finally the Abandoned Shrine 2 patch. Now everything is working fine for me.

Byoungb, did you also have AS1 installed and working? Are you running on a Mac as well? Did you, like Bog Wraith, install it under c:/Program Files or c:/Program Files (x86) in a post-XP version of Windows?

Non-native Windows user especially should be aware that Microsoft deliberately and silently sabotages attempts to alter files in those and certain other directories. Never install actively-developed software there; it will end in tears. If you're given a choice, don't install anything there.

Even so, this isn't the kind of symptom I'd expect, so it might not be the only cause.

I was thinking of doing this exact thing today being the holiday, but I'd rather not do all that work with what free time I have. I'll wait until another point update or newer version is released.

Thanks for the info! 8)

In other words, I think you're saying we should install directly to the C: drive itself, for instance.

I've done that before many times when I've run multiple copies of ManaLink in the past so I know that it works very well that way too.

I also know exactly what you're referring to with Microsoft's interference, but I have never come across this with ManaLink or Shandalar a-d software in Windows 7, which IMO is the best Windows version I've ever run & I've owned all from 3.1 on with the exceptions of Vista (thank the heavens!), 8 & I'll also be skipping 10 as well thank you!

I did see this however in XP & others as well.

I will keep my install for now as I said above. If I have a problem with the next point release, I will then do a fresh install.

No, I was using TH3 previously before trying to upgrade directly to AS2. I am running on Windows Vista and installed under C:\Games.

I've been unexpectedly busy for about the last week and a half, so missed my April 1 target release date for DL1/AS3. It's tentatively cleared up, though, and I'm on track for releasing this weekend.

No word from Sonic yet, so if anyone feels like putting together an interim artwork package for the cards listed here, I'd appreciate it. The alternative is a release with just empty white boxes there instead. There's instructions for the naming convention here, and you can test the first artwork version for each card by setting "ViewAll=1" in Manalink.ini and loading the Manalink deckbuilder.
