Deflection-like effects are a still a good ways away, and I didn't mean to imply otherwise. I still have to rewrite all the remaining MicroProse cards that use the targeting system, or should use it but don't.

The first category I can mostly just write wrappers for instead of fully rewriting, and I've actually done so for the Auras' enchant clauses. Whimsy is problematic in that the legal targets for each of its modes varies fairly widely.
Most of the cards in the second and third categories are damage prevention or redirection, so are waiting on that to work even vaguely correctly under modern rules. (I have some idea how to make it do so for the human player, but I'd expect the AI to deal with it much worse than the current system.) Of the remainder,
Oubliette is implemented as an Aura;
Darkpact targets the player, selecting a specific card during resolution; and
Vesuvan Doppelganger targets during initial casting.
The fourth category is much smaller than I'd expected.
Mana Clash is an easy rewrite, as is the targeting part of
Tempest Efreet (its "from anywhere" clause is a totally different story). These are also the same cards that are blocking effects that give a player shroud or hexproof or protection, like
Leyline of Sanctity and
Seht's Tiger.
edit: strikethrough a couple rewritten
