Shandalar Update Patches: Pre Alpha Software Edition
Posted: 12 May 2015, 04:26
Creating new thread here as a sticky topic to host this first & all the subsequent pre alpha software patches which will be released as Korath moves toward an official alpha software edition.
When that happens, this thread will be become a normal topic as it is being replaced by a new sticky topic that will contain all the alpha releases. The same will be done when the project moves on to its beta edition phase.
Doing this so it makes it easier for everyone to find the most current Shandalar updates as they are posted.
A BIG thanks goes out to gmzombie for recommending that we proceed in this manner!
I am copying the gist of Korath's first alpha pre release info here as well as posting the links for the 2 files that constitute this first update. There are 3 lists of cards and some info regarding them that apply to this first release, but since I am only moving the files & the easy installation instructions here for the sake of brevity, I am providing a direct link to those card lists & info, as well as the more complicated long installation setup method should anyone like or need more information:

Here are the installation instructions, followed by the link to both the files needed to update the game:
Installation directions
It should work correctly to
1. Install Shandalar from any of the recent versions posted in this forum.
2.Install Manalink into the same directory, overwriting everything.
3. Update Manalink to the Fate Reforged patch (not any later ones, for the now), including the art updates. (Just the Manalink art updates is fine; you don't need to install the CardArtShandalar package.)
4. Unzip the attached package into the same directory.
...but I haven't tried that. Please let me know if you do and it works, because the long version that I used is even more unconscionably complex.
This is pre-alpha software. Many, even most, of the cards I've added I haven't played in a duel yet even once. There's some configuration options in Shandalar.ini, including a method to turn off cards that are too buggy to deal with.
None of the AI decks have been changed, except for Merfolk Shaman.
