Standard layout not changing visual spoiler of cards!

Playing a duel in Shandalar, be it the modded up version or the original, I can't get cards during a duel to switch the visual spoiler on the left. The only way I can find a visual spoiler for the card is to do Advanced on the layout, and double right-click on a card, but it's such a hassle. Anybody know how to fix this?

Do you mean you can't get it to go to basic layout, or that when you do, the fullcard on the left never updates?

The fullcard on the left only updates on the last card draw and such. It doesn't update on demand or any mousing over a card.

Does it make any difference if you turn on "Show cue cards" in the right-click configuration?

Nope. it doesn't help :/ I'm playing it on W7 64-bit.
