Rawky's Rock'em Sock'em C.o.W. Level Enemy Deck Pack
Posted: 21 Dec 2016, 20:00
Welcome to the Can of Whoopass
Been working on this for nearly a year. It's pretty fun, if you enjoy suffering.
Expect this page the change a hundred times, since I love to edit my posts.
Rather than bitching about what the AI can't do, I made these decks to take advantage of what the AI can do. Results may vary, but it does pretty well. I've been playing against these decks for months, tweaking and fine-tuning. At present, I'm proud enough to prepare a 1st release. This deck pack comes with tweaks to the Shandalar.ini file, which help to round out the overall intent and feel of the gameplay.
Many of my bug reports from the past year+ pertained to cards or functions that I made use of in these enemy decks. Thankfully, Korath was kind and skilled enough to take care of so many that I lost count. Also, my wish list blew up, so version 2 of these decks are already looking good. In summary, everything is awesome.
The tier titles (neophyte, novice, etc) are a throwback to the 90's RPG series Dungeon Master by FTL. They are the names of skill levels in DM games.

INSTALLATION
Unpack the archive (attached below) into your program folder. Overwrite the Shandalar.ini file and the 55 deck files. You may wish to backup your originals.
Removed from the Default No Choose List
Brainstorm
Mind Twist
Ponder
Added to the Default No Choose List
Badlands
Bayou
Plateau
Savannah
Scrubland
Taiga
Tropical Island
Tundra
Underground Sea
Volcanic Island
This deck pack is intended to be played with a fresh and raw deck, so injecting premade decks or using old save games will taint the experience. Start a new game, and maybe don't go for Wizard on the first try. If you find that you're getting beat down a little too much, take advantage of the ability to save and reload your game whenever you need; I don't recommend any cheating beyond that.
170117 UPDATE - version 1.1
Minor changes to tiers 1-6
Moderate-to-major changes to tiers 7-9
Graphical deck lists for tiers 1-9 attached (the larger file)
Since v1.1 uses cards from the Gemcutters Guild release, I'll leave v1 attached for those that may still be using Halls of the Sultan. I have no idea how much earlier versions will be affected.
I also snuck one other change into the Shandalar.ini, to make the AI a tad more aggressive.
Stay tuned for updates!
