Game crashing when entering villages

I've noticed that very often, when entering villages (and probably towns, too) the game will just crash. Since the game has an excellent autosave functionality, this isn't really a big deal, because you can simply resume from after the last event (battle, goody-spot, etc.), but I'm wondering if this is a particular issue with the version of the modded game I'm using (which is probably the latest version before mass deletion) or a general problem.

I never met a crash when entering a village, town or whatever however I repeatedly had crashes in villages and towns, in all versions of the game I have played with if I click on something and then before that opens I click rapidly elsewhere.

I saw you mention that elsewhere. I don't think it's the same issue, as I have paid attention to not clicking after trying to enter a village, but I will check again.
