The installer is not working for me. I mount the iso up and I start up autorun.exe, and it seems to work fine for a bit. The mini-cinematic pops up with the Magic title screen, and I can hear the music. But then the window freezes. The music goes on for about a minute after the window freezes, and then that goes out to. I can't do anything at that point to get the program to unstuck itself.

Extract the iso to your hard drive and run the setup.exe in the 'Setup' folder.
Usually solves the problem.

Hey there--So I've been trying for a few days to get this to work on my Windows 7 laptop.
I downloaded the ISO, installed, and used the patch on the first page. I added all .exe files to the DEP list. I can get the program to work right up until after the facemaker program kicks in. Once I select "leave" and enter a name it crashes saying "File-> D:\Newmagic\multiplayer\sid\gluc.c, Line-> 864 Could Not Load Dave's Extra Cool Timer
Please call MPS Customer Support 1-510-522-1164"
Any idea what all that means and if there's a way to fix it?

Have you done a cold boot of your machine since installing?

For one I haven't seen the company name in years, TYVM for returning them from the eternal grave of early MAGIC incarnations. TWO MR ADMIN GRACIA'S, DANKE, and TYVM.

Ive played the original MTG for PC since 97. For use with win7 I copied the game folder from my xp to the new pc and works. I also found the manalink patches for xp for using slower. But now I found these page. Immediately I downloaded the iso and it works without dep. I hate the word, but the work you did is "AWESOME" I cant imagine what expenditure mok and the others had. I only can say:
Thank you, I love it with the new cards since duels of the planeswalkers. And I cant understand not to patching it after the last add-on from microprose and the programmlimit of 2000 cards.
Enough: Thanks so very much!

hi everyone,
I was wondering if this version of Microprose MTG had forum where you can add people's IP addresses for some casual competitive play...

Hi. I'm so happy to have found a supposedly working version of Shandalar.
I've installed the custom 2010 iso, patched it and added the files to DEP.
When I try to start a new game I get this error when choosing a color:
File-> D:\NewMagic\sources\sidlib\lib.c, Line-> 315
WM_CREATE CreateDIBSection
Also it skips the difficulty menu.
I can get into the game even though that error accurs but then when I'm in a dual everytime I take damage the game just crashes.
Other minor problem is that I can't get the game to run in full screen.
I'm running Win7 Pro 32 bit service pack 1.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Sorry, haven't seen that error before. Try installing to C:\ root, and be sure to reboot.

I installed the game exactly the same way on my other laptop with Win 7 Pro 64bit and it worked perfectly.
I suspect the issue could be something with the language of the different versions of Windows. The laptop where it didn't work, had a danish version of Windows and the other laptop where it did work, had an english version of windows.

Hi, found this forum thanks to Google.
I downloaded the ISO, and have tried to extract it with WinRAR. But, I'm getting this error message:
"The archive is either in unknown format or damaged"
I haven't tried either of the other two install methods yet, but this error message doesn't have me optimistic for either of them working...
What do I do?
EDIT: Oh yeah...I'm using Vista.

Try using 7zip. If that doesn't work, download the file again using a different method, as it may actually be corrupt.
Good luck and please keep us informed.
