I have a question about the installation because the instructions confused me at a point and I don't know if I did it correctly. I installed the iso, then I installed the patch. At some point I was given a choice between new art and classic art and chose new art. Now the first post says "BE SURE TO UPDATE the CardArtNew images. See CardArtNew Instructions.txt." I did what the txt says, extracted the archive, copied the folder, pasted it in the magictg folder and got asked if files with same name in the cardartnew folder would be replaced(windows xp sp3) and I chose yes to all. The question is: Do I do what the CardArtNew Instructions.txt says before or after applying the patch? It wasn't clear to me so I just did it after installing the patch. Do I have the right files now in the cardartnew folder?( the folder has 3115 files by the way, but it would have so many either way)

This install is over 5 years old and is in need of a serious update. For now I probably wouldn't use this as there are a bunch of different updates that happened since this was updated. My plan is to eventually get to this and update it but I have to figure out how to do so as I've never done that before

Thanks. My ultimate goal is to be able to play the new Shandalar. I thought the only options to install Shandalar were the iso and the shandalar 2012 that CirothUngol just said we should not use. What else is there? What should I use to install Shandalar and where can I find it? The new Shandalar thread mentions "Install Shandalar from any of the recent versions posted in this forum." What are the "recent versions"?

This is recent enough. (It's actually more recent than the one I'm working from.) And there's no need to worry about updating the CardArtNew directory; that holds the Shandalar versions of the artwork for individual cards, while my recent updates use the Manalink directory.

If anyone wants a custom avatar send me an image and I'll send you back a .PIC that you can place in the 'Playface' folder.

I've played Shandalar multiple times in the past 7 years, but am having real difficulty installing it now with my new Gaming Laptop with windows 10.

Here is an attachment showing the buggy shandalar interface where the icons are not lined up properly or dont exist at all. Also i can't get a better resolution than that tiny image in the corner of my screen (atleast deck editing thankfully goes full screen), whereas i remember back in the day having no problem using it in full screen (i also don't remember it throwing my resolution into a crappy 1024x768 or whatever by default). I've tried many different installations including the new versions, but i just want the original working shandalar if possible.

Huggybaby, I don't know who's responsible for the update to MTG but I would like to thank you and every one of you for bringing back one of VERY favorite games. I have it running under Windows 10 Pro 64 bit at 2048 x 1024 and it's running perfectly. Once again thank you and keep up the great work!
