Why can't I get the above update to work? :( I must be doing something stupid wrong because it just crashes whenever I try to go into a normal duel on the constructed version. Any Ideas?

This update will only work with the 2009/10 CD-Rom installer version of the game.
If you're using the Limited/Constructed versions of the game, the cards.dat file in this update is not compatible with those versions - I suspect this is what is causing the crash.

Thank you very much for your work. I love this game.

I just have to figure out how to add more cards to the duel. And how the whole thing of the gauntlet works. The information is a bit scattered IMO. Could someone lend me a hand?

Hey guys, awesome work, the game is working great, and I'm loving playing this on windows 7. I'm really impressed with how you guys got this old DOS code working on windows so nicely. However, I want to reinstall my machine with windows 7 x 64 and as this software is not UAC compliant and windows 7 keeps non administrator threads from writing to c:\Program Files\MagicTG\Savegames, it doesn't seem to be saving the games anywhere on the computer I can see. I really don't want to loose the decks I've been working on in shalandar. Any suggestions?

I ended up copying the whole c:\program files\MagicTG folder to d:\MagicTG. Reinstalled windows, installed the applicaiton to d:\Program Files\MagicTG and copied the old folder in. All my save games are there.

Shandalar with new cards?

I just downloaded this sweet little compilation but I couldn't find any answer to whether or not it's possible to play the campaign with the cards everyone has been adding. Perhaps someone has made their own "version" of Shandalar? That is something I would look forward to. Great work either way.

Shandalar is still untouched by developers since its initial release and will only fully work with the Custom ISO installer, the latest updates will crash it.

The only possible "mod" known is to manually change monsters deck in the Deck folder or change player deck with an external 3rd party utility posted in the general section.

First of all a huge thanks to all involved in everything magic-related.

Great stuff with the iso, however I would like to ask for a favor: I installed the new iso and wanted to bring my magic instalation to the lastest release. I copied my old magic directory to my new one and it became messy, so I either troubleshoot (headaches incoming!), or I get all the updates since march 2009 (I actually tried to do it only to find updates older than 2010 no longer available) or some benevolent soul just puts all the updates required from march 2009 in one file.
If possible I'd like to maintain everything from the original magic user interface and update only the cards and goodies (switcher, limited version etc.).
Can anybody give me a hand please?

As far I know there are no planned/dedicated updates for ISO in meaning of new cards. ISO is provided for people who want just to play "good old game" on newer PCs configurations without many troubles. ISO is like "fire and forget" missile option.

If you want to play the game with new features (cards, options) you should install it as described here: http://www.slightlymagic.net/wiki/Installation

So there is no "a little of this AND a little of that" option. You should choose "this OR that" to have as little troubles as possible.

Fair enough.

Thanks for clearing that out. I'll go back to my old build.
