I have a problem with the install, i have not text (cards, menus , shandalar, etc)

If someone have a response ?

Help !

Thank you
Sounds like the fonts didn't install or you need to reboot. Your Windows needs to be on your C drive to install properly too.

HQ CardArtNew Released by Sonic!

No, there were mistakes, until right now.

HQ CardArtNew Released by Sonic!
Release Notes:
All the pics have been completely redone using CCGHQ Crops. Where more than one version of the same art was available, Sonic selected the best one. The variation in contrast between the different card sets does vary quite a bit, so the artwork for many of the individual cards needed contrast rebalancing to restore some of the finer detail. This was a lot of work!

The artwork in the new ‘CardArtNew’ folder is now all sized at 288x232 and saved at the same jpg quality, so it is much more consistent throughout the game. They're even named consistently, no more .jpg and .JPG.

If there are any card text errors, it is a simple case to correct them, so please let us know. However, the text corrections only relate to the Manalink sections of the game. Shandalar uses the same artwork for the cards, but a separate dat file for its card text and the format is different to the Manalink Cards.dat file - Sonic did not correct any text errors in Shandalar.

Over 150 extra card images from the later card sets have been added. The art is sorted so the earliest WotC published version of a card's artwork will always be the one displayed in the Deck Editor. From a compiling point of view this is the most logical way to sort the art, as you can simply add extra art for an individual card at a later date without having to re-sequence the jpg file names.

Some people would rather have the most recent art in the Deck Editor – so Sonic included instructions in the Installation Instructions.pdf to allow them to arrange the jpg files to their own personal preferences. However, Bog Wraith, Sonic and I are happy with the original look of many of the cards in the game. The idea is to hew as closely as possible to the original release.

Also in the pdf is a list of all the artwork that’s in the ‘CardArtNew’ folder and the cards listed in the 2009 CD-Rom Manalink.cvs and Card.dat files - including those which aren’t programmed into the game.
No new cards or artwork have actually been added; these un-programmed cards were in the Manalink 2.0 database already.
This will be useful if these cards are added to the game at a later stage, as all the artwork is already included.
Plus, it's handy for users to see a complete list of cards available in the game.

Some of the cards' ‘flavor text’ which wasn’t included in the original release has been added as well. If you can't read all the text in game, right clicking on the cards text box brings up a menu which allows you to expand the text box so you can see all the hidden text.

A few errors in the Manalink.cvs and Cards.dat files have been corrected – but whether sorting these errors will solve any problems we have no idea. Sonic has tried a few Dual games using Wayfarer’s Bauble with the update installed and it worked perfectly.

Sonic did restore one card which wasn’t showing up in the Deck Editor – ‘Blood Knight’.
Image
The card was programmed into the game but an error in the Cards.dat file prevented the Card Editor recognizing it. So the update actually contains an extra red creature card.

The pics could have been made much larger, left at HQ dimensions. I'm glad Sonic made them 288x232 though---the game is buggy, and for all I know Mok made them that size for a reason.

I added Sallinar's multiplayer instructions near the bottom of the first post. Those registry entries were left out of this version of the ISO.

Sonic & Huggybaby: thanks ;)

EDIT: It seems the file from mediafire has one CRC error (I've tried to download it three times already). The other one looks ok.

File comparison shows some small differences also.

Can someone check and confirm/deny this?

I have had recently some problems with my internet connection so I thought it was some error (again) on my side (lost bytes during transfer). Thanks Huggybaby for confirming my "discovery".

Is there a way to run Shandalar windowed running on Win7? I can't seem to forget about it.

No, the game itself forces full screen mode and I know of no way to override that. The only way I know to have a window is to run the game in a virtual machine.

Hi, I have a question: it's possible to play the normal Shandalar game with the new cards (Blightning, Wild Nacatl, etc..)?

CCGHQ CardArtNew 042110

Release notes from Sonic:

FIXED:
1) Some cards not showing any artwork on occasions.
2) Some cards not displaying all of their alternative images.
3) Crystal Rod file names sequence.
4) Missing Faerie Rogue token image for Bitterblossom.
5) Two cards which were not showing up in the Card Editor – Fanning the Flames and Tempest Efreet.

ADDED:
1) 65 more alternative images for some of the cards and tokens.
2) New token image for the Serpent Generator. (I have no idea where the original came from, but it was awful. So I took the background from the Serpent Generator image and altered the colouring of the original serpent token to make it look more the snakes in the Serpent Generator card image.)

UPDATED:
1) The instructions pdf file has been updated with the card list corrections, and this update will directly replace for the previous one using the same installation instructions.
