Creating new enemy decks
by denialofself » 03 Oct 2020, 15:07
I have a later version of Shandalar. In an attempt to customize its to an era of magic I'm very fond of (Beta-Invasion) I've added the customization to the Shandalar.ini to limit the cards found for purchase and as other rewards with these tags under the [Sets] section.
Promo--Apocalypse=enable
Odyssey--Aether Revolt=disable
That seems to work great, but I'd also like to tune the enemy decks to use cards from these sets. I've edited the .dck files in the \Decks folder using the Card IDs found in the Magic.exe.Cards.csv file found in the .\CSV directory. But a good amount of enemy decks crash during the draw step of a duel so I must be pulling the IDs from the wrong source. I've confirmed all my new .dck files contain 60 cards, and spellings match the came source .csv file.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!!

You have to be careful only to include cards that do exist on your version. Also you have to make new decks for AI located in decks file and follow how they are written there, including correct spaces between numbers and names.
Anyway you can find which cards your have if you run from command line, location of shandalar.exe and then type shandalar --deckbuilder to open shandalar deck builder if that works for you.
I don't know where you got your version from but there were not these files in any update Korath has put together I believe.denialofself wrote:using the Card IDs found in the Magic.exe.Cards.csv file found in the .\CSV directory

Yep that seems to work - so save these as .dck files and then replace them using the same deck numbers in the \Decks folder?
