Directplay problem question.

Until 2 days ago my girlfriend and I were playing the 2010 iso version of MTG with no problems. Then all of a sudden when she tries host or join a session she gets the following message.
"E009:
Sorry , I cannot create a directplay session on that service provider."
We have reinstalled Vista twice since and updated it to the version of directx my computer is running (since MTG still works on mine). Has anyone else seen and/or solved this issue?
Thanks in advance.

We copied the
C:\Program Files\MagicTG folder from my computer to hers and everything seems fine now.

Man, I wish I knew what exactly fixed it, but I'm glad you got it going.

Her install folder is about 40megs bigger than mine, although we did the exact same install on both systems. Its still on her harddrive renamed. I can upload it to you if you want to have a look at it.

Best thing would be a winmerge comparison between the two. I don't know if you've ever used winmerge but it comes in handy some times. Anyway, you've already overwritten her folder so we wouldn't be able to find the difference.

No we renamed the old folder before copying. I've never used winmerge, but if you can tell me where to find a free copy I can run it and forward you the results.

Good thinking! You can get winmerge here:
http://winmerge.org/Or, if you have plenty of bandwidth, you can zip and upload the working and non-working folders to mediafire.
Thanks for helping with this. If we can figure anything out it will certainly help others.

Which is better for you? If you want me to upload send me the info to log into mediafire.

The best is to upload the folders, then our experts can analyze them.
Just go to
http://www.mediafire.com/ and upload them, then copy the links and post them here. You don't need to make a mediafire account to upload. However it's best that you do because it's free, and if you do you can manage all your uploads in the future, and get links for your uploads whenever you want to.

I was reading this post just before my Magic 2010 ISO started working...
Running Windows 7 I had the "NoNet" Problem with the message about directplay session error.
1. Installed Magic 2010 ISO
2. Installed CardArtNew from 2010 Torrent
3. Ran Magic "NoNet"
4. Created a Player Profile in Magic. Still "NoNet"
5. Downloaded "Manalink Junk" from this forum
6. Placed magic.reg in folder I installed magic 2010.
7. Run magic.reg, Run Magic, net box disappeared completely.
8. Edited magic.reg, changed Manalink "No" to "Yes". Changed Playername to created name step 4. Changed email to created email step 4. Reran it.
9. Run Magic "NoNet"
10. checked net box options and turned off automatic connect. connected via tcp/ip and was able to host a game.
Not sure what fixed it exactly but it was something to do with step 8 & step 10.
