Which patches do people use?

As I continue to work on this game it came across me that I haven't applied any patches to it which may cause some differences in my version of the game and the ones used by other people. In order to make my program as universal as possible I was wondering which patch or patches, if any, are considered 'the norm' when installing Shandalar. I know this might depend on OS but if anyone has any idea of the most popular ones then please let me know.
The only one I remember applying is one that fixed the problem with disappearing text back when I was on my XP machine. I can't remember what the patch was called or where I got it from but I'm pretty certain it didn't do much other than fix the text (as opposed to some that I have found that also change decks of monsters and alter a couple of rules here and there).
