Trouble getting game to run
by gatorsong » 29 Aug 2011, 23:45
I was able to download and install the ISO without any problems.
I can bring up the launcher and I have the tray icon showing it is running.
I can go into the face editor and create and save faces.
I can run "Magic" from the launcher and it brings up the screen that has the Duel, Tools, World, etc buttons.
I can load a duel and play it, even though the graphics are really bad, pixelized and too big, but I can play it that way.
If I click on the world button it brings up the next screen with the Shandalar and Video buttons. If I click on Shandalar the game screen goes black and crashes. The same thing happens when I attempt to run Shandalar directly from the launcher.
The crashes are caused by Shandalar.exe and Duel.exe.
All I really want to do is play the old game.
I am running Windows XP Home SP3 with an ATI Radeon HD4650.
I have tried other downloads as well, like the MOK's Manalink 2.0 and the Home of the Underdogs version, neither of which I could get to work as I have the same sort of issues and crashes involving Shandalar.exe and Duel.exe.
Any suggestions that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
