Animation not working
by Vantalk » 03 Oct 2012, 12:42
Hello, I've been struggling very much with this animation problem that makes me play halfhearted
Main problem is that those wizards animations don't work at all, they show no reaction of the wizards when I defeat their minions or when I defeat them there is no death scene that I remember from the good old days.. (Just make's u feel like ur driving for nothing )
I'm running Windows 7 x64, with Nvidia 9600M GS with updated drivers as far as I know.. Other bug I'm experiencing, but less important, is that the autorun is not responding after the first video with the dragon dissapearing and no buttons show up (I then installed with setup.exe). I previously installed a different version (repack by Milo). After that I installed the 2009 ISO and since that bug didn't get solved I performed an uninstall and clean registry. I reinstalled with ISO and still no go.. what can I do? i would like to keep the old version and not the newer limted/construction or so called

If you're playing from the 2009 or 2010 ISO, then the animations should be there. Try going into the STATWIN folder and playing some of the animations directly. The video codec used is IV41 (Indeo Video 4.1), perhaps it was updated/replaced?

I wasn't aware of any missing animations, so someone else should confirm.
And the only way to get those indeo videos working is with Windows 95, that's why there are still some advantages to running the game in a VM.

There was an older post "by UltimateKane99 » 30 Oct 2010, 22:56"(guy has only 2 posts), but there was nothing specifying the problem was solved. Anyway, I'll try with VM in the meantime.

...wait, all of the in-game animations don't work for you? I'm playing on a Windows7x64 system and the animations work fine.Huggybaby wrote:...the only way to get those indeo videos working is with Windows 95, that's why there are still some advantages to running the game in a VM.
Please confirm, as these should be working. Have you installed a codec pack? I use CCCP, works great.

The animations work for me, I'm talking about those interactive videos that teach you how to play the game.

Hey guys,
Sorry for reviving an old topic, but I'm actually having this problem. All the videos work fine in the STATWIN folder, but they don't show up in game. Does this not working anymore in Windows 7?
