A Quick Question About Magic the Gathering Arena Cards?

I’m a beginner. I played mtg for the first time during the breaks in the PSAT with a friend three years ago, and decided to download the game instead of playing the irl card game. Are all the cards f2p? Or are there some cards you are forced to pay for?

Just in case some might be *still* wondering, there's a bunch of cards that you can only get via crafting them with wildcards (typically, after a short time of availability, like for the Historic and Explorer Anthologies), which makes it harder to make a fully free 2 play collection.

P.S.: Ok, this is *really* the wrong subforum...

The Gathering Arena (MTG Arena), the vast majority of cards can be obtained for free through gameplay. You earn in-game currency and booster packs by completing quests, winning matches, and participating in events. However, there are also options to purchase gems, the premium currency, which can be used to buy booster packs or enter events more quickly. Some promotional cards or cosmetic items may also be available for purchase with gems.

While there are opportunities to spend money in MTG Arena, it's entirely possible to build competitive decks and enjoy the game without spending anything. It's designed to be accessible to players regardless of their budget.
