It's neat that new cards are constantly being added. For us deck-builders, it would be nice to be able to sort the card list by date added to Magarena. Or even just show only cards added in the current version.

We can use the # field in the card pool to show the version number the card was added. Clicking on the column header would then sort by version number.

That sounds like a good idea, and maybe easy to implement too. Although I guess the big haul is to tag all the existing cards... or just cheat and make it a standard from now on.

Hi developers. Maybe near "generate deck" and "edit deck" create button "load deck"? Will be useful. (:

I understand your pain, going to the menu to load a deck is tedious. Love the mockup. Tracking this on our issues page as https://code.google.com/p/magarena/issues/detail?id=297

Thank you for the updates to this awesome program I haven't played in a while and see there Have been a lot of great changes
. This might've been asked before but I was wondering if the following features could be added:
1. Option for 40-60-100 card decks
2. Option for Singleton decks
3. Support for commander format
4. Support for a full-screen view mode
5. Support for double faced cards
6. Support for a gauntlet mode
7. In the log it would be nice if hovering over the name of the card would show a card preview (I know I've seen this request before)
I realize this is a very long list of suggestions
Thanks again for the very fun app:-)

You guys might need separate Feature Request sections for 1.3x and 2012 versions...
2012: When playing precon decks, add title of decks somewhere in deck viewer.
Both: When playing precon decks, add title of decks somewhere, probably on top of the playfield in the white bar that says "Magarena by ubeefx".
Player 1: Blue/Green aggro vs. Player 2: Red/Blue Loser

Hi guys,
I had once played MTG before but just for fun. I am familiar with the gameplay but I'm not a pro. I like a free version of MTG to play more and luckly I accidentaly land on Magarena. Currently I am downloading the data file.
I am new to this forum, I hope I post it right. I am also using linux, Ubuntu. My request is, can this be add to the Ubuntu repository later? This is an awesome game. Many ubuntu newbie rely to install software using the linux "Ubuntu Software Center". If this game can be found on that list, this game will become more popular. And if the lan multiplayer will be available soon, that would be awesome2x.
Cheers,

Hi auxilium, welcome to the forums
Hope you've enjoyed playing Magarena so far.
I'm a Debian user myself and would love to see a version of Magarena in the official package repos. Unfortunately, the owners of M:TG have a tendency to use legal means to stop fanmade implementations of the game. Therefore it is safer for us to remind off popular lists and package repos.
There are no plans to work on multiplayer at the moment and much of the game is designed around a single player vs AI scenario. Do check out MAGE, they support multiplayer with rules enforcement.

Hello!
I' ve just discovered Magarena by chance. I'm browsing through its features, and it looks awesome!
Most of the cards seem to come from recent sets. Are there any plans to include older card sets (Revised Ed, Ice Age, Arabian Nights, etc..) in the future?
Also: is there a list of all card sets included?
Thanks!

Hi, ExReey, welcome to the forums
There are no particular plans regarding cards. From time to time, we get requests for cards. We prioritize the ones where the request includes the metadata of the card, you can find the requested cards with metadata at https://code.google.com/p/magarena/sour ... incomplete
When we extend the engine with a new mechanics, we tend to add most of the cards that use the mechanic. For example, support for Planeswalkers was added recently (not released yet), so we've added some Planeswalker cards. You can find the new cards for the next release at https://code.google.com/p/magarena/wiki/UpcomingCards
We don't have a list of card sets, but I worked out quick script to compute it. Attached is a file containing the number of cards we have from a particular set. Note that if a cards appears in multiple sets, it is counted multiple times.

Hey guys!
First, I'd like to congratulate you guys for the fantastic job you are doing!
I've been playing Magarena for a couple of months, but I'm totally new to the forums, so please excuse me if these suggestions already came up.
1) Summoning sickness: It is easy to keep in mind which creatures you just played, but if there was an indicator on the cards, I believe it could be helpful.
2) Messages: I know you can pin the messages window, but would it be possible to move or resize it, so you can keep it open while you play? It's not that important, but again, I think it would be helpful to noobies (like me).
3) Set default deck for a player name: Again, it would be more comfortable if you could set a deck as default for a given character.
Thanks again!
Cheers,
Tyr

Creatures with summoning sickness have a small "chain" icon (as in metal chain with with three links) in the lower left. Not the most intuitive of icons but it is there.tyrke wrote:1) Summoning sickness: It is easy to keep in mind which creatures you just played, but if there was an indicator on the cards, I believe it could be helpful.
Not being able to see the log is an issue we are trying to address, some ideas were proposed at viewtopic.php?f=82&t=7121&start=15#p127943 Do let us know your thoughts in that thread.tyrke wrote:2) Messages: I know you can pin the messages window, but would it be possible to move or resize it, so you can keep it open while you play? Not sure what you mean by "given character". There is just a single character whose name and avatar can be customized. Perhaps we could remember the last deck played?tyrke wrote:3) Set default deck for a player name: Again, it would be more comfortable if you could set a deck as default for a given character.

Hey guys!
I can't believe I missed the Summoning sickness icon, sorry for that
Regarding the decks:
I thought it would be nice if you could assign a default deck for a player name, since the stats are already saved individually for each name.
Or if you select the "Folder" icon in the dropdown menu when you start a new Duel, it would load either the last played deck or a deck marked as default for that player name.
This is absolutely a comfort function (saves you about three clicks), but I thought it would be nice.
Thanks again!
