I just bought a new computer. Should I install version 1.96, or should I wait for 1.97? It's already been over a year since 1.96 was released.

There is not really a fixed date for these releases anyway.

Install Forge instead. It's what i play. This game is dead, unfortunately:(

I installed 1.96 & my fan went crazy, & my anxiety went up. I checked another thread & the only solution's implementation is beyond my ken. This isn't the first time a new computer, or Windows Version, has made a favorite game obsolete, & probably won't be the last. I will check out Forge, as suggested.
