Card wishlist

This is the thread to request for cards. Priority of requested cards will depend on how many changes they would require to the engine to implement

We currently do not support the cards that make use of the following:
- add more than 1 mana to the mana pool
- has multiple targets

Steppe Lynx
Kor Skyfisher
Silver Knight
Lone Missionary
Wall of Omens
Flickerwisp
Calciderm
Galepowder Mage
Kor Sanctifiers
Cloudgoat Ranger
Reveillark

All Signets, Talismans and Karoos (Talisman of Progress, Azorius Signet, Azorius Chancery)

Nemesis of Reason

I would also have a request for a card that should be removed in the next update: Gruul War Plow. This card is quite bad in a deck that doesn't have access to both Red and Green, but the computer keeps adding it to any deck, since it is an artifact and can theoretically played there.

Hi eidolon!

Happy to hear you like the game. :D
I noticed your detailed bug reports on the issues page and I appreciate these very much.
I also noticed you already use the 1.2 snapshot version with deck support. Actually this is a very useful feature for testing. In later 1.2 snapshots I will fix the bugs you reported.

I never heard of Cube until know, but after checking the page out, it seems this is actually very close to the concept of Magarena. 8)

I used your extensive input to update the new cards list. Not all of your suggested cards fit easily into the engine. Magarena will probably never be a generic engine supporting all cards, but rather a very dedicated engine to support the cards it contains as well as possible both rule and AI wise. Luckily there are other cool projects also in Java on this forum for that purpose like Forge and Mage.

You're welcome.
The AI is doing a really good job and I have no problems using a smaller card pool, if the computer doesn't misplay all the time.
In retrospective, some of the cards in the list above are not very likely to be included, like Prophetic Bolt or Vendillion Clique, since all other targeted discard/library manipulation has been excluded on purpose.

happy coding, eidolon

I don't have specific wishes, I will go with the standard more the better! I'm already wasting too much time with your program xd

I would like to request the following cards:

Soul Warden
Soul's Attendant
Serra Ascendant
Ajani's Pridemate

EDIT:

and -
Nameless Inversion
Æther Vial
Living Death
Vindicate
Cranial Plating
Lightning Greaves
Doran, the Siege Tower
Reflecting Pool
Overrun
Soul Foundry
Twilight Shepherd
Banefire
Eternal Witness
Mimic Vat
Gatekeeper of Malakir
Avatar of Woe
Jaya Ballard, Task Mage
Master of the Wild Hunt
Silvos, Rogue Elemental
Knotvine Paladin
Shriekmaw
Lorescale Coatl
Kavu Predator
Arcanis the Omnipotent
Ninja of the Deep Hours
Phantom Nishoba
Experiment Kraj
Juggernaut
Rhys the Redeemed
Scute Mob
Bogardan Hellkite
Ryusei, the Falling Star
Splinter Twin
Engulfing Slagwurm
Perilous Myr
Bitterblossom
Explore

Yes, there is a pattern to these: These are the highest-rated cards in Gatherer that aren't currently in the game and that fit criteria for what can be added to the game.

Also, they're mostly creatures. Spells should probably be added too.

You should also add a lot of commons to balance these out. Also, add a lot of decent removal. To balance it out. :D

Thanks for the selection.
I indeed try to add a lot of powerful removal to the game.
And I do try to add the powerful commons too. :)

I would like to see a zip of a bunch of decks also. Is there anyway to have the program then pull from those decks for random battles.

I'd like the ability to add new/custom cards externally (instead of needing to go into the code - which I haven't even looked at.)

Due to the engine design, that is only possible for simple creatures, auras and equipment.
Puxl did already a good job to add several creature cards this way (singularita or all cube).
Creating a Forge kind of script language is not impossible, but would be lots of rework.
Part of the speed of the AI is also realized by the custom card coding and hints.

Just a quick list of cards that I've implemented so far, and that you may see in the next release:

Artifacts:
Phyrexian Vault
Culling Dais
Peregrine Mask
Argentum Armor

Metalcraft creatures:
Ardent Recruit
Auriok Edgewright
Auriok Sunchaser
Carapace Forger
Chrome Steed
Etched Champion
Ezuri's Brigade
Ghalma's Warden
Razorfield Rhino
Snapsail Glider
Spiraling Duelist

Metalcraft spells:
Galvanic Blast
Mirran Mettle
Dispatch

Various:
Kemba, Kha Regent
Luminous Angel
Luminous Wake
Curse of Chains
Dark Favor
Divine Favor

Kemba and Luminous Angel can both quickly bring about game states where the
AI takes a long time to think about what to do next BTW.
