Magarena's DCI Number?
by mtgrares » 20 Jan 2011, 20:34
Not that I know how but it would be cool to try to rate Magarena's AI according its DCI number. The DCI number is similar to chess: the higher the better and everybody starts at 1600. Here is an article that explains what the DCI number means.
Less than 1500: Terrible
1500-1600: Bad, or at least very new.
1600-1700: Average. Typical of Friday Night Magic.
1700-1800: Slightly above average.
1800-1900: Good. Able to win PTQs.
1900-2000: Very good. Potential Pro Tour caliber.
2000+: Rare Skill. Pro Tour regular.

Sounds indeed cool. Probably it would have to play several matches against ranked players.
Somewhere in the 1700 to 1900 range for level 6 would be great.

It was a miscellaneous thought since the AI is challenging. My DCI number is probably average, 1600 - 1700.

I have no idea what my DCI number would be.
But the AI can be challenging and create exiting games, which is what matters.
