Tip: Limit colorless cards for greater balance

While playing Magarena using random decks, I've noticed a strong correlation between colorless cards and balance: games are closer when there are fewer colorless cards in both decks.

So I create new duels until each deck has no more than five colorless cards. This has consistently resulted in more balanced games.

This technique can also be used as a handicap. I'm much more likely to lose when my deck has significantly more colorless cards than the computer's deck.

Thanks for sharing your observation!
I made a feature request on the project page.
It is a fact that Equipment can be quite strong in limited.

Yeah, some of the equipment cards are definitely strong. I especially enjoy the swords.

What I don't enjoy are hands containing multiple equipment cards and no creatures. But that no longer happens now that I limit colorless cards.

ubeefx, thanks a lot for Magarena. It's literally the only game I play. The AI is amazing!

The new deck generator in 1.8 limits colorless cards to 4.
It also limits creature cards to 16.
So there should be a nice mix of cards.

Yeah, it seems to be working very well.

Thanks!
