Good AI

I had a lot of fun playing Magarena last night. The AI really kills me with cards like Serrated Arrows. A couple of times last night the AI countered my spell, either with counterspell or pumping up his creature also, which was great fun.

I'm really impressed with the user interface. I'm going to try to copy it and even use your themes. Magarena's user interface was just so nice to use, just like a commercial program. I plan to not use Swing and try to draw everything on the screen like a real videogame using fly, the smallest, simplest Java library I could find.

Thanks for good times. 8)

Using game libraries is a good idea.
But apparently fly is only free to use in non commercial applications.
For Magarena I tried to only rely on the JRE libraries, so there are no other dependencies.
Magarena already does a lot of custom drawing, but it could still go a lot further.

I've given up writing a commercial project. It was a nice pipe dream.

I know the feeling. I did have some commercial ambitions with Magarena before it became open source. :(
At least people can play the game now, which is what matters the most. :)
