New Google code project for Magarena
by ubeefx » 18 May 2011, 17:51
I created a new Google code project for Magarena : http://code.google.com/p/magarena/
I picked the name Magarena after creating the original project.
Now the project also has the same name.
This project can be used for all continued development of Magarena.
The Magarena Limited Edition 1.13 code will be the starting point for this project.
It will be an opportunity for people who want improve and maintain this project.

Melvin already expressed his interest to help continue developing Magarena, so I made him co-owner.

I'm glad that are other programmers who are willing to continue Magarena. This game is just to good not to improve it.
For all those who are gonna embrace this project...
BIG THX:)

This is good news!
There are already a couple of contributions made by IanGrainger that could be folded in.

Thanks ubeefx for setting up the "new" project and creating such a great game to start with.
As before, the focus is on creating a strong AI player and a great single player experience.
I am currently setting up the new Google Code project page. Initially it will be basically content migrated over from arena-card-game. Will update here once that is completed. One change that I'm making will be to switch from subversion to mercurial for source control, so as to make it easier to manage contributions to the project.
My own area of expertise is in the game AI, so we will need lots of help in areas such as UI and game engine/card development. Folks can pm me for access to the main repo or simply make a clone of the repo and start working on your improvements once the repository is up.

The new mercurial repository is now available at http://code.google.com/p/magarena/source/checkout
Anyone with a Google account can now make their own server side clone to start contributing to the project.
