Combat Workflow not complete

Postby Ivalen » 25 Aug 2011, 21:38

From the rules:

Your opponent decides which, if any, of his or her
untapped creatures will block your attacking creatures,
then they do so. If multiple creatures block a single
attacker, you order the blockers to show which is first
in line for damage, which is second, and so on. Players
can then cast instants and activate abilities
I select an Attacker - and get prompted for spells/abilities
AI does not select a Blocker - but I am not prompted for spells/abilities.

I should get this prompt.

I did a quick play test and there is a chance to play spells/abilities after the declare blockers step when the AI does not block.

Does this missing priority happen all the time or only in certain circumstances? It would be easier for us to replicate the problem if you can post a screenshot of when this happens.

Another possibility is that you may have the "Skip single option choices" option enabled and you don't have a valid spell/ability to play at that point in the game, so the game automatically passed priority for you. If you want to go through all the steps manually, you can disable this option in the "Preferences" menu.

Thanks for the reply - unchecking the Skip Single Choice did the trick.

I didn't save the duel, so no screenshot unfortunately.

But I was attacking with a Septic Rats and wanted to use a kicked Vines of Vastwood when the AI did not declare a blocker. I didn't get an option to do so.

I played the exact same scenario today, with the 'skip' option unchecked and all was well.
