iPad beta test

Hi all,

I have started this thread to consolidate all beta test information on the iPad. You can download the iPad beta from:

http://deckedbuilder.weebly.com/ipad.html

The primary changes lie in:

- Searching for cards and building decks
- Testing the deck

The iPad app is optimized for use in landscape mode, but it would work in portrait mode as well. I'm currently ironing out all the bugs etc, what I'm really looking for at the moment is feedback on the new interface -- do you like it? Can it be improved etc?

Please post all feedback/bug reports etc to this board for discussion. However, if you are shy, feel free to email me at deckedbuilder@gmail.com. :)

A big thank you to those who have kindly volunteered their time to test the app!

Hi Tan Thor Jen

Your app is amazing! I really like the iPad interface. All in one view is great.

I just wondering if it is possible to zoom in to the selected card in the landscape format. I would like to enjoy the HD quality pictures here.. :D

For the Stats tab. It would be great if you can show the cards that meets the criteria. (ie: When I click 4 cost: 12 cards, highlighting the cards at the left that meets this criteria can be great.) You can add a total value of the deck in the deck stats too.

For the Test tab, it will be interresting to add some counters/tokens button.

Seriously you have done a great job.

When you will be ready to have some new ideas for your app. I will have some ideas for you!

Sorry for my english, I'm a french canadian ;)

Hey Bilb0,

Thanks for the compliments, and the suggestions!

Yep, I'm definitely looking to add the zoom in/out feature. I like the idea of highlighting the cards that meet the stats criteria as well, let me think of a way to add that in.

I'll throw the counters/tokens stuff onto the back burner for now -- testing is really meant to just get a quick feel of the deck. I don't want it to get too elaborate.

And your english is pretty good!

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that if you can check if you can automatically hide the keyboard after we hit the search button. This way, we will see the search result rapidly.

I've installed the beta along with the provisioning profile, but every time I launch the app, it immediately closes. I've rebooted the iPad and the results are the same. What info do you need to help troubleshoot this issue?

Thank you,
Brian

Hi all,

Sorry, it could be a provisioning profile issue (weird)... I'll try to rebuild and push up a new version soon. I've not changed any startup code so there should be no issue there.

Are you planning on releasing the source code of this app?

Works great now!

Looks wonderful. I love the new features. Typically, I've used the iPhone app primarily to research cards and build wishlists to take with me for trading and purchases. Now I think I'll use it more for actually building decks as well.

I'm an iOS developer as well and had considered building such an app, but you've got a great thing going here that stands above the others out there. I'll let you keep plugging away at it and focus my development efforts elsewhere.

Keep up the great work! You've got a guaranteed purchase here once you release the final on the app store.
