Crashed during Challenge vs zombie aggro deck.
His turn was supposed to be his last because he was milled to 0 card in library before this turn, I think this is an old bug that make game crash/hang when AI has too many lands in play
There is to note that I did the same challenge some hours ago and it didn't crash, though I don't remember if he had so many lands.

Personally I've been running Tendrils or Hulk Flash combo. With the first I get turn 2-3 wins, while the second is more consistent at turn 1-3. However as always bad starting hand + having to mull down to 4 makes some games luck based.

Congratulations to Somacat, the first person that I know of to complete all 6 challenges.
For anyone stuck on the first challenge, here's a beacon of light. It is my opinion that the second challenge is actually much easier. After that, though, I offer no promises

The mode challenge is great. I still can't win the first though, I always get a bad turn where I get screwed even with some mulligans (especially against Elves and Soldiers). I'll try to improve my deck
.
Anyway I've a problem with some cards, for instance Lord of the Undead: when I send it to the graveyard, its bonus +1/+1 is still valid for the cards that will enter the field during the next turns (not if I erase it from the game, as with a Sword to Plowshares). It also happens with some Elves and Melfork cards, (not all though, for instance Undead Warchief doesn't have this problem). If it's a bug I'll post on the bug section, but I didn't notice that before.
Edit: now the game keep crashing when I play against the elves. If I can put Moat on field, the AI just use all the elves to product mana and with Collective Consciousness can put in play about 20 elves in a couple of turns, making the game crash. I'll go with a different strategy, but it's a pity 'cause it was a good trick to win the previous 6 matches.

I've come up to the 7th opponent of the 3rd challange with a Oath of Druids/ Show and Tell deck with 4 platinum angels, 1 progenitus, 1 inkwell leviathan and 1 magister sphinx as my creatures.
Only some lossen on bad draws except for the last opponnet wich burned me because of the low life count.

I already beat the first challenge, but it was $%&*@ hard. I also realized that I didn't turn off debug mode so I'm gonna have to do it again. I do have a small question, though: Do you get any kind of message when you beat each challenge? I'm just wondering because I don't know if I was supposed to get one when I beat the challenge but didn't because debug mode wasn't turned off.

After you finish all the rounds of a challenge, a new game will start. I think on the AI's first upkeep, you will get a message telling you which cards you have unlocked, and the game will end. Then you can close and re-open Manalink, the new cards will be available, and you can choose the new challenge

I beat the 1st challenge but nothing happened, the game returned to the main menu after the match against the slivers without a message (like during the normal gauntlets). I'm playing it wrong? With how many opponents should I start the gauntlet?

More than 10. I'll update the docs to mention that.Reid wrote:I beat the 1st challenge but nothing happened, the game returned to the main menu after the match against the slivers without a message (like during the normal gauntlets). On the last (I think) match of the second challenge, I received a random deck because of the Chaos Orb avatar that was foisted upon me, and then I immediately got a match loss because my deck was illegal (something about Windfall).
Another thing I noticed is that sometimes, at the start of the second match, when the AI's Rules Engine is 'coming into play' you see the same kind of window you get when you have to make a choice. Where the choices would normally be there is 1 line that says "gauntlet 12 challenge 10" or something like that, and when you click it you get a game loss immediately.
Regardless of those issue, that makes 2 matches out of 10 in the second challenge where you have to play with random cards. By itself, this would not be a problem, but because there is no way to save, some bad luck there means you have to go through all the previous steps again. Of course bad luck can cost you a normal match too, but at least there you had the chance to influence your luck a bit by making your deck as consistent as possible.

Challenge two has 10 matches so you might mention thatYour goal is to win 9-straight challenge matches in a row

Your goal is to win 9-straight challenge matches in a row, followed by an especially difficult "Boss Match".Snacko wrote:Challenge two has 10 matches so you might mention thatYour goal is to win 9-straight challenge matches in a row
9+1 = 10
