As luck would have it, I was given a new computer instead of having to wait for repairs on my old one. To celebrate, I've implemented Vanguard play. Just put a copy of the vanguard card into your deck to have it enter play when the game begins.

(see http://www.wizards.com/magic/tcg/articl ... e/vanguard for vanguard abilities and images)

Here are some sample vanguard decks: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1149

Avatars:
Momir (already in the game)
Oni of Wild Places
Elvish Champion
Mirri the Cursed* (this is an approximation, but it's pretty close)
Akroma
Ernham Djinn
Goblin Warchief
Heartwood Storyteller
Mirri the Cursed
Nekrataal
Royal Assassin
Serran Angel

Cards Added:
Empty the Warrens
Primal Forcemage

Bugs Fixed:
Bringers have the proper trigger
Inkwell Leviathian is blue
Momir can generate Artifact Creatures (and not token creatures)

The 3D renditions are a disaster ..... some designers deserve to be drowned, hanged, skinned and drowned again.

............ welcome back Jatill :)

Ok here are the pix. I took what I could from the wizard site but shunned the low polygon 3d junk, so it's a bit of tinkering

I don't think Momir is working anymore. I'm not sure how it behaved before, since today is the first time I used it. When I put it into my deck, it came into play and then removed my hand from the game, and would not let me pass my upkeep. When I used debug mode, it comes into play fine, but on the next upkeep, it does the same thing. Sometimes it removed my library, too. My deck is not all basic lands, it has all sorts of cards in it (and in fact has no basic lands at all) if this is relevant.

The only other avatar I've tried so far is Nekrataal, and it seems to be just fine, so it's not all vanguard cards.

edit: hmm, turns out I think it's debug mode that is the problem mostly, though Momir did hang me even when I was putting it directly into the deck. I put an Angel of Despair into play, destroyed AI Sol Ring, and the game hung during my main phase. Not sure if debug mode is your department, or how it worked before, but it doesn't seem to be working now.

Avatar Akroma might sometimes give twice the same ability, I tested with an Army of Light Akroma-ed and got a Savannah Lion with only first strike ability/icon (and it was tapping while attacking so it didn't get vigilance).

Also got a Thunder Spirit with only Vigilance, it might not take into account innate abilities too

Also a Vigilance icon would be nice

Debug Mode + comes into play creatures has always hung the game. Same thing with putting spells directly into play.

The other "hidden" ability is Haste. I didn't add a popup telling you which abilities were granted since you can figure it out based on whether the summoning sickness goes away.

And yes, Akroma is working correctly when it gives a Flying creature Flying, etc.

hmm...

OH, hey, I could just put Momir into play and turn off debug mode, will that work? I really want to use that card, lol.

edit: nope, it still hangs during opponent's upkeep and removes my (499 card) deck from the game, after I got a Spiketail Hatchling into play (mox+savannah used)

edit again: Ok, tried putting Momir into play and turning off debug with a different deck (affinity), and it works just fine.

edit again: tried it with a 3rd deck, it mulliganed my 100 card deck down to 10 cards but didn't hang.

Enjoying this immensely. A few bugs though:

Royal Assassin Avatar is not discarding down before the first turn begins.

Also, not sure if this is a new bug introduced with this release but Army Of Allah did not add it's +2 to the attackers power numbers when I cast it after blockers were declared.

Hey I like the update, just noticed one bug so far. Sword of Fire and Ice deals 2 damage whenever your oponent gets damaged by you through any means, not just the equipped sword doing combat damage.

Edit: Also equipped effect remains after the sword has been destroyed although it doesn't seem to do anything.
