Can you please list if you did any extra steps when you installed it on Windows 10 to make it work since there are few people that haven't succeeded and the rest of us haven't moved to windows 10 and doesn't seem an option for me in my old pc.Besides I value too much my windows xp.

I just did a clean install for this update, and followed the 4 steps listed in Korath's post. Worked like a charm.

Note: I did a clean install because I f-up the install when I migrated to a new computer over the summer - Shandalar (Nomad's Bazaar) worked fine, but deck.exe did not (at the time I copied the files from my old computer, rather than a fresh install). My current install does not include a Shandalar update yet, so that might make a difference.

Happy new 2016!

Nice job with the new patch, as always.

I have a problem with Win 10. Magic.exe only launches manalink.exe(the green gem on the upper right of the screen). Deck.exe works however. Haven't tried launching Magic.exe after I upgraded to Win 10 until now, the program was on my PC prior to that. Tried compatibility and no use. Any ideas how to fix without clean install?

Put the attached file in your manalink folder, rename as "playmanalink.cmd" and run it.

Weird thing is I reset PC at some point and after that not even manalink gem would apear when i try to run magic.exe. I included your file but Magic.exe still won't launch. Also, when I try to run deck.exe i get this error

You're not running with the rarity.dat included in the patch. I don't know how to make the instructions any clearer than "extract and overwrite everything".

Ya I reinstalled the BFZ patch and deck.exe works now but magic.exe still doesn't, even with the cmd thingie posted above. I read the Win 10 thread and seems BFZv2 is fixing it? When we getting that?

When I have the AI data from stassy (so I don't have to do a third release solely for that) and the OGW data is on Gatherer (so I don't have to wait another year before including cards from it in Shandalar), whichever is later.

Korath if you like, since this bug is still active and affecting lots of cards put the following in your release post so we don't get bugs about it and people can use the cards affected by it.

Unfortunately, the annoying "no fast effect during combat" bug is still here, I'll state it again for newbies:
currently, you can't use activated abilities during combat unless you've an Instant in hand.
To avoid this problem, follow these steps:
1 - The first time you load the game and play the first duel as soon as the duel begins you have to put a STOP to BOTH attack phases (so that will give you the chance to put stops "fast effects assign attackers" and "fast effects assign blockers") as it will open the attack phase menu when you come to that step.
2 - Then as soon as you put the stops in the fast effects you can remove the stop from the attack phases so it doesn't stop there if there are no creatures to attack, for players attack phase this works great for AI's phase it will not stop on "fast effects assign attackers" step though only to "fast effects assign blockers".

Also the above bug discussed here maybe causes also this which happened at the same update and affects lands like the first does.

Re: Manalink Update 2015/12/25: Battle For Zendikar

Postby vst » 05 Jan 2016, 19:59

EDIT: got multiplayer working by disabling all the options in the config.txt. Do we know what specific options cause the issue?

Recently updated my old 2010 ISO ML2 version to BFZ ML3 via the instructions on the first page.

When attempting a TCP/LAN duel with Hamachi we're having problems. We're able to get net, invite to duel and accept, but at the first turn either the AI takes over and we can't see each others plays or the oppenents deck is 0 cards and they lose after the first turn. It's like the AI starts using the LAN players name but with some other deck or a deck with 0 cards. We've tried multiple decks. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah, just came back to say that almost anything will desync multiplayer. Shame really. Does anyone know the the highest card count that Manalink 2 has for stable multiplay?
