OK, so it sounds like this release is causing crashes. Can people try to hunt down the cause for me? I suspect 1 of 2 things, so
1) replace shellart/abilities.bmp with the previous version that does not include shroud, etc. Does the game still crash?
2) Instead, replace manalink*.dll with the previous version (edh). Stil crashing?
3) Try both. Still crashing?
I would think one of these will fix it. Please let me know which, since I can't see any crashes (lucky me!)

With the new update, I have been experiencing not just crashes (although the crashes have happened at some point in every game I tried), but also lots of strange bugs. Cards will often disappear for no reason, or change to other cards. I once even had the Rules Engine change into a tapped Swamp for a turn lol.
I tried a bunch of variations of what you just posted. Just changing cardart/abilities.bmp didn't do much. Replacing ManalinkEh.dll and ManalinkEx.dll caused the game to crash when you try and start a duel, which is even worse. And the same thing happened when I replaced the .dll's and the .bmp together.
So it seems to be something else? I'm on XP SP2 if that's any help.

This version worked fine for me... I experienced previous bugs only, like the weird interactions with Morph creatures, but new art and new mechanics are ok.

yeah it crashes right away when you change manalinkeh.dll for the previous one.

In this update Bloodbraid Elf cascade efect is not working properly. You can't cast the exiled spell for free.

Isochron Scepter seems to be broken, at least with Aether Burst.
In one game, i had Aether Burst and Dark Ritual in my hand when i cast Scepter, and it automatically imprinted Dark Ritual.
In another game, i had only Aether Burst in my hand, and it imprinted the Rules Engine (I wish i was kidding )

i toyed around with an alternative attackscreen picture and thought i could share it.
don´t forget to backup the old one in your Duelart folder if you don´t like it or it is causing problems.

(it is huge(5mb) , but won´t repeat the pattern this way unless you attack with like 10+ creatures)
you might notice it is the one i´ve used for the red background aswell.just rezised and converted it.

Here's a patch with the ability icon code rolled back. Can someone give this a try, and see if it still crashes? Don't forget to use your old abilities.bmp also.

e-tested with the old ability bmp. at the moment no more ugly crashes. i'm trying several decks but everything sems back to normal

New patch (20100222) with old abilities.bmp
I don't know if these bugs already existed!
1º: Master Transmuter and Inkwell Leviathan appear to be playable with one less mana, although you can't play them this way.
2º: I can't make a copy of Inkwell Leviathan with Clone, what is supposed to be possible by Gatherer rulings.
